Capítulo 10: Azure Serpentine/Aquatic Battle Armor
Wu Yu was not entirely truthful to his master but he wasn't outright lying either. To help his master understand that his zanpakuto is special he had to make sure he told him a little about her origin.
To accomplish this, he had to mix a few lies with truths but when he talked about meeting Shugo Tenshi, everything was true about their meeting.
Though he hasn't met her in this world yet, in his other life their first meeting went exactly the way he had described it, no lies there.
As the silence between grandmaster and Wu Yu grew longer and longer, Wu Yu finally wasn't able to handle such an atmosphere and spoke out, "so master, what do you think?"
Hearing what Wu Yu asked, grandmaster wasn't sure on what to say. What Wu Yu had described to him was never heard of before so he didn't know where to start.
Grandmaster looked at Wu Yu for a good while before asking him, "little Yu, earlier you said you couldn't hear her name, what do you mean?"
Wu Yu put his hand to his chin and thought about it seriously, "I'm not sure either, even though I could see her lips moving no sound came out at all."
Scrunching his brows, grandmaster was confused, she moved her lips but no sound came out? then why could he hear everything else so clearly?
Grandmaster really had no idea of what to make of this. Plus there was the other things like soul society, monsters with holes called hollows, and lastly the spirit itself, it called itself a zanpakuto?
"Master, I know this all sounds crazy but it really did happen and I don't know why but for some reason I feel that she is very powerful, that's why I hid her.
Grandmaster just blankly nodded as he was still processing a lot of the information Wu Yu had dropped on him.
After a long silence, grandmaster only had one question left for Wu Yu, "little Yu, even though all of this sounds foreign to our world, how can you be so sure it is some kind of foreign power and not just a unique spirit?"
Wu Yu thought for a bit then answered, "this... I don't know how to answer, its more of just a feeling, like she shouldn't be here in this world."
Without any other questions left to ask, grandmaster felt like the origin of this zanpakuto would naturally reveal itself to Wu Yu sometime in the future.
Not wanting to waste anymore braincells thinking about something that obviously wasn't leading anywhere, grandmaster thought of a different approach.
"Well little Yu, you sure are packed with surprises, how about you tell me about the abilities of your spirit?" grandmaster asked.
He felt that Wu Yu knew a lot more about the zanpakuto spirit than he had led on for him to believe so he very purposely asked the question.
Wu Yu scratched his neck akwardly as he knew his master had caught on to a few of his schemes of sorts.
"Haha, sorry master for not being completely open, the truth is there are two abilities of my second spirit that I'm aware of." Wu Yu answered his master with an akwardly dry chuckle.
"Two?" grandmaster said to himself while looking at Wu Yu for an explanation. Wu Yu already knew that spirits only had one ability from the lesson with grandmaster earlier today.
"Yes master, I say two but they can also be counted as one. The two abilities are namely shikai and bankai as far as I know.
"Shikai... and bankai, what peculiar names for abilities, what do they do?" grandmaster asked curiously.
Pausing for a bit Wu Yu answered, "I'm not sure master, I know that they are very powerful abilities but I've never used them before."
"Then can you use them now?" grandmaster asked Wu Yu to which the latter shook his head in disappointment.
"I'm sorry master but it seems the two abilities are locked... I don't know why but the most likely conclusion I came up with is that I'm far too weak right now.
Grandmaster nodded in disappointment and understood, after all, spirit abilities being locked weren't completely unheard of.
"Alright since we know nothing else about this spirit then how about we put this matter on hold until something new happens?" grandmaster asked.
Wu Yu nodded, understanding that there wasn't really anything to go off of at all but what grandmaster said next cleared him of some of his worries.
"However I do know that bringing out this spirit won't cause any problems for now besides people finding out you're a real genius with twin spirits." grandmaster smiled as he said this.
"Alright master, thank you for clearing up some of my worries." grandmaster was an expert in the field of spirits so when he said that his zanpakuto spirit wouldn't cause any issues, he was relieved.
Nodding his head grandmaster said, "Alright it's getting late now, you should head back to your dorm also come back here tomorrow, I want you to meet your potential, fellow disciple.
"Potential? master, you haven't asked yet?" Wu Yu asked with a bit of curiosity about the student his master has been seeking out.
"No, he has just arrived to the school today, I took interest in him after I saw his spirit." grandmaster answered patiently.
Wu Yu nodded then mumbled, "so it's a boy..." and was about to leave but asked one last question before he left, "master, this boy, his spirit isn't blue silver grass by chance is it?"
Grandmaster looked a little surprised and asked back, "little Yu, how did you know?"
"Ah, so it is him..." Wu Yu mumbled to himself. Grandmaster heard what Wu Yu said and asked curiously.
"Little Yu, you know Tang San?" to his master's question Wu Yu just shook his head and said, "Tang San, born in holy spirit village, spirit is blue silver grass and has full Inate spirit power."
"I only met him this morning on my way out of the academy to search for a job. I helped him and his grandpa out to deal with an idiotic guard who was blocking them from entering."
"As for how I know so much about him, I saw his letter when the dumb guard threw it to the ground and I picked it up." Wu Yu tried to keep it as short and simple as possible when explaining how he knew Tang San.
Grandmaster nodded then asked, "I see, so you and Tang San are on good terms I assume?" to which Wu Yu just answered with a simple, "yep!"
After that Wu Yu bowed to his master before leaving to go to the food hall as he realizes that he hasn't eaten all day.
He didn't know what it was with him that keeps making him forget to eat until the last moments. When he got to the food hall he ordered some new things then looked around for a table to sit at.
Looking around, he saw a little more people than the day before but he didn't really care and was more interested in the table near the exit.
Two people were sitting there that he had met yesterday, quibbling with each other. Walking up to the table, Wu Yu sat down across from the two brothers who still hadn't noticed him.
"So, what did you guys do after registering yesterday?" Wu Yu asked suddenly causing the two brothers to stop arguing.
When the two looked over at Wu Yu, they smiled brightly and exclaimed, "brother Yu, you don't mind if we call you brother Yu do you?"
Before Wu Yu could even answer the two brothers hurriedly spoke again, "Anyway you came at the perfect time, you can settle this argument for us brother Yu, tell us honestly which one of us is smarter?"
Wu Yu was instantly caught in a sticky situation, he couldn't say one was smarter than the other because truthfully he couldn't lie to himself, both were a little bonkers in the head.
He wasn't saying they were dumb per say but that the things they say and do sometimes can be percieved as a little dumb to anyone.
"Haha, both of you are equal in brain power." Wu Yu answered in a way that was ambiguous so that he was staying true to himself and the two brothers.
The two brothers looked at Wu Yu strangely then said, "we weren't asking you to tell us we had the same amount of smarts, we wanted to know who's smarter!"
No matter how many times he hears the two brothers speaking in perfect sync, it never seemed to get old and always found this aspect of them to be quite interesting.
"Haha, well enough about that, so about my question earlier?" Even though Wu Yu wasn't really interested in the question, he just wanted to get off the topic of their smarts.
"Ah, that's right, while we were getting registered yesterday, the headmaster met with us personally after seeing our letter." the two brothers recounted.
"Oh? did he now..." Hearing that the headmaster met with the two brothers personally instantly piqued Wu Yu's attention.
For them to get the attention of the headmaster, it could only mean one of two things. Either they had incredibly good talent or they had a big background.
The second was highly unlikely as he heard from the two yesterday that they were born and raised in a village so the first reason was most likely why.
"Yeah, he franticly said he'll enroll us straight away, nice guy by the way, anyway, after that he took us to a random dorm then told us to stay there for a night while he gets a better dorm for us." The two brothers simultaneously said.
"Oh, say, what are your guy's spirit anyway? by the way, mines a Qilin." Wu Yu asked while showing a miniature version of Wu Ji.
"Waaah" the two brothers hovered over the Wu Yu's hand as the were in complete awe while they admired the magnificence of Wu Ji.
"Wow, brother Yu, your spirit is awesome so much better than my brother's." the two said simultaneously again causing a them to glare at each other."
"What did you say? my spirit it ten, no, twenty times better than yours, you just don't want to admit it." The two said.
"What do you know? you and your little pet snake aren't anything compared to my invincible armor!" Huang Bo the right handed brother said.
"Hah, that puny armor of yours can't even take a single hit from me and my serpent without breaking down!" Huang Da retorted in turn.
This was a mystery Wu Yu would never solve, when they're not arguing they're in complete sync but as soon as they start fighting, they can speak as individuals.
Before Wu Yu could intervene, the two were already too far into the fight to back off now. Both stood against each other face to face.
Huang Da yelled out, "azure serpentine!" causing the image of a huge, azure blue snake with bat like wings to appear behind him before fusing with him.
The eyes of Huang Da slowly turned into slits, looking exactly like the eyes of a snake. As the fusion continued, parts Huang Bo's body started to grow azure blue scales like his two forarms, shoulders and under his eyes.
Possibly, scales might've grown on his legs or areas under his clothes but they weren't visible. Just when you think the fusion was complete, two azure wings sprouted from his back, ripping the shirt he was wearing to shreds.
On the other hand, Huang Bo yelled out, "aquatic battle armor!" causing a full set of ocean blue armor to cover him from the neck down.
Only Huang Bo's face was visible as instead of a full on helmet he instead had a golden mid evil type crown with a rhombus shaped saphire in the center.
When Wu Yu saw the two brothers spirits, he was a amazed by how domineering Huang Da's azure serpentine looked and how intricate Huang Bo's battle armor was.
If one brother was king of the skies then the other would be the king of the sea's, at least that's how Wu Yu depicted the two brothers right now.
Just as the two were ready to go at it, the man who ran the kitchen suddenly called out Wu Yu's order causing Wu Yu's ears to perk up.
"Wait you two! my foods ready, don't fight yet, let me get my food first!" Wu Yu yelled as he ran up to the man to get his food.
The two brothers who wanted to go at it almost tripped over themselves when they heard Wu Yu's request but in the end decided to wait for Wu Yu as he was kinda acting like a referee in this match.
When Wu Yu got back, he put all his food on the table then sat down where he could see the fight clearly and said while starting on his food, "thanks for waiting, you can fight now."
