Kapitel 1: Chapter 1

A word of darkness greeted him once his eyes snapped open. A piercing headache followed, making him feel as if his memories were a glass globe that had been shattered and then repaired, but with all of its pieces randomly sorted. His mouth opened up in a soundless scream as his mind tried to comprehend his jumbled up memories. He writhed in pain for an unknown amount of time before his headache finally subsided.

"What the hell happened?"

No one answered him as he laid there, trying to figure it out on his own with his jumbled up memories. From what he puzzled out, he had been the son of some Italian crime boss, and... and... there was one distant memory, which should have been fresher, of his house being bombed. Well... that should've been expected, considering his father wasn't a good man, and for that matter, neither was he.

"So where am I?" He asked no one in particular as he stood up. His eyes scanned the sea of darkness until he spotted what looked to be some sort of a terminal near him.

"Welcome to the Universe-Creation System, Jin," he read the text on it and wrinkled his nose. That was certainly not his name, but it's not like he had a memory of his original one. It will have to do for now, and it's not like he cared too much what he was called.

Jin clicked on the screen where it said Introduction, and he was given a brief overview of what this place and the Universe-Creation System were. He was in his own world, or Universe to be exact, and it was currently empty if the sea of darkness wasn't a dead giveaway.

The point of the System was to help him create his own Universe. Though, the way to do it was... interesting, to say the least. He will have to travel to different worlds and accomplish specific scenarios, which he will have to select.

The reward will vary depending on the scenario, but they could be anything from a simple house to a whole planet. Or they could also be nothing if he decides to go without one.

"It's not like I have anything better to do here," Jin chuckled and clicked on Start. A new screen appeared on the terminal with details of the first world he will be visiting.

[Tokyo Ghoul: If anyone wondered what would be more gruesome than vampires, then that would be ghouls! They are a carnivorous and cannibalistic species that can only feed on the flesh of humans and other ghouls. The world is filled with ghouls, and they are in constant war with the humans. Which side will you choose?]

"Sounds like a fun place. Though... I can't help but feel I've heard of this before," Jin said with amusement as another screen followed afterward. Before jumping into the world, he had the ability to select Background, Perks, Items, Disadvantages, and finally, the Scenario. Jin had a total of 1000 points to use for that, and he wouldn't be allowed to start if they were in the negatives. However, he could choose to save those points, and they will be kept for his next world and so on. There was only one downside, and it was that whatever he purchased will only last him for a single jump.

Since there was no need to rush, Jin carefully read through all of his choices. For Background, he had options to drop in without any identity in the world, which was free, or he could choose to part of a family of either ghouls or humans, which cost him some points. Perks looked to be like passive skills that boosted him in various ways. Item and Disadvantages were self-explanatory; one gave him an object, the other made the world harder for him, but it provided him with more points.

Lastly, and probably more importantly, was the option to chose a Scenario. There were a few interesting ones, such as conquering Tokyo, which will grant him the city for his Universe, or if he felt even more ambitious, the entire world. However, it was one other that caught his attention.

[Tokyo Ghoul Gauntlet Style: You want a trial by fire like no other? Then this is for you! Fight all of your enemies mano-a-mano in a deathmatch. You'll have to face your opponents one after the other, with no more than a 2-minute break before each fight.

Condition: You have to pick the Disadvantage Mortal Enemy (+300) and make at least one group hate your guts.

Reward: All Perks and Items you purchase are permanent from now on.]

That one looked like a no brainer to Jin. The sooner he picked that, the better he will be for the future. However, he could also end up just dying if he wasn't careful, but he saw a few Perks that should help him with that.

Jin started by picking his Background and selected drop-in. No point in making an identity if he will be fighting everyone in a deathmatch. For 100 points, he changed his race to a ghoul. They were at least four times stronger than normal humans, but they did have their disadvantages. For another 300 points, he made himself a half-ghoul, and then he spent 400 more to be a perfect half-ghoul.

Essentially, Jin would be a perfect mixture of ghoul and human and would be able to eat regular food without any issues, though only human and ghoul flesh would satisfy him.

Ghouls also have a special organ in their body called kagune, which can form into four different types. For his own, Jin selected the rinkaku type as it has powerful regenerative abilities, and some could even survive the most critical of damage. A rinkaku kagune usually takes an appearance similar to scaled tentacles and is released at the back around the waist.

Then Jin picked the Perk that will win him the Scenario and carry him for the future.

[Gluttony Incarnate(-800 points): Eat, eat, eat. Your stomach is a bottomless pit, and no matter how much you stuff yourself, you will never feel full. Anything you consume will be instantly processed and restore your energy, maybe even heal you if you are injured.

Consuming other beings will increase your strength, and you have a 30% chance of stealing their power and a 10% chance of absorbing their memories.]

This Perk had so much potential, even with that little titbit of Jin always being hungry. He thought he could work with that, and hopefully, find a solution in the future. Nevertheless, the ability to steal the powers of other people was a must-have, even if it wasn't guaranteed. Absorbing memories was also good, though it had its downsides depending on how it worked. His own were already jumbled up, and he wasn't sure how that will work with him.

Jin moved over to the Disadvantages. Mortal Enemy was already chosen, and he picked CCG and received his 300 points. Then he found out that he could select that Disadvantage multiple times, so he simply picked all groups available; Aogiri Tree, Anteiku, Clowns, V, and Washuu Clan.

This way, Jin would have more points to work with and more enemies to fight and potentially eat. This will make his trial harder, but the added Perks will be useful for him.

[Rc Cells Powerhouse(-400): Humans have about 200 to 500 Rc Cells, and ghouls have about 1000 to 8000, you, however, are a powerhouse with 10 000 Rc Cells, which makes your kagune one of a kind.]

[Peak Performance(-200): Some people need to train daily to be in shape while you are always at your peak. Unless injured, your body will always be in perfect shape.]

[Martial Arts Prodigy(-300): While most would need years to learn a martial art, you need months or even less. You instinctively know how to use your body to attack and defend yourself.]

[Weapons Prodigy(-300): While most would need years to learn how to wield a weapon, you need months or even less. You instinctively know how to use a weapon to attack and defend yourself the moment you grasp one.]

The Rc Cells Perk will make his ghoul physiology better, so Jin thought that was an obvious choice. The Peak Performance one will be helpful no matter what, even more so, depending on how it works with his Gluttony Incarnate. The Martial Arts Perk will help him fight better, and he used his last remaining points on Weapons Prodigy since he wasn't sure what to do with them. It could be useful, depending on if his enemies come with weapons and if those weapons disappear or not after their fight. Either way, it will be helpful for his future, that is, as long as he gets to survive this first trial.

Jin briefly considered picking a few more Disadvantages, so he could get more Perks or even a few Items, but in the end, he decided against that. He didn't want to make his enemies stronger. With that done, he confirmed his selection and was given one hour for his body to adjust and for him to prepare.

It felt like someone snapped his finger, changing Jin's race just like that and applying all of the Perks he purchased. A bout of pain filled his body as his muscles and bones alternated in an instant. His stomach rumbled, already starting to feel hunger, and he felt a weird sensation just above his waist.

To Jin, his kagune felt like a muscle, a new limb, and he lightly flexed it. From behind him, a large light blue tentacle erupted, leisurely floating next to him. It looked like a fleshly muscle and had elk-like horns sticking from it across its length.

"This... is weird," Jin mused, moving his rinkaku tentacle around. He flexed his kagune even more, and five more tentacles erupted from his lower back. Since he had one hour to prepare, he used that time to get used to using his rinkaku.

Jin was jumping and moving around, getting used to his body's capabilities and new additional limb, when he suddenly blacked out for a moment. Next thing he knew, he was standing in the middle of a massive roman style colosseum.

In front of him, there were double-sided metal doors, which shortly opened up. Immediately after, a man wearing a white trench coat walked out. There was no hesitation as the man pulled out a handgun from within his trench coat and began firing at Jin.

Jin reacted in an instant with his rinkaku protectively erupting and forming a shield in front of him. He grimaced in pain from the bullets hitting his tentacles, but that feeling was dwarfed by the hunger from his Gluttony Incarnate.

In a mad dash, Jin took off running towards his opponent. He wasn't afraid of killing, as even from his jumbled up memories, he knew he had done it before. His father had been a crime boss, and there was no way the man wouldn't have taught him how to take care of business.

Jin's only problem was the fact that he planned on not only killing his opponent but also eating him. Eating human flesh should be disgusting, but then why did it sound sooo enticing at that moment?

Despite the hunger that forced him to rip apart and feast on his opponent, Jin didn't kill him immediately. Instead, he captured him with his rinkaku tentacles before ripping one arm off. There was only a 2-minute break between each fight, so he wanted to take his time and get used to his new condition.

It took all of his willpower not to immediately plunge his teeth into the arm. Though that only lasted for a few seconds, and Jin took his first bite. He would've moaned in pleasure if his mouth wasn't too busy chewing and biting more from the delicious meat.

'Human flesh should not be this satisfying.' That thought passed through his mind for a moment, but it got lost just as quickly.

Before he knew it, Jin had ripped apart his opponent and eaten him whole. Yet, despite that, he still felt hunger. He still wanted to eat more. Thankfully, Jin didn't have to wait for much longer as the metal doors opened up.

His next opponent looked like a seventeen-year-old girl dressed in a school outfit. The moment she stepped into the arena, her irises turned red while her sclera became black with red veins across her eye. From behind her, two dark purple kagunes erupted, wrapping around her arms and forming claws at their ends.

Both of them jumped at each other without a single word. However, Jin was stronger with his peak physique and the massive amount of Rc Cells. His six deadly tentacles swiped at her as he kept a short distance away, using his longer reach to his advantage.

That lasted until Jin managed to trip her up, and he instantly jumped on top of her. Wasting no time at all, he plunged his teeth in her flesh, taking a large bite from her shoulder area. The girl's flesh tasted even better than the man before, and he gorged himself in pleasure.

When Jin finished with his meal, he felt something change within him. A new kagune formed in his body just above his current one. With a light flex, a dark purple koukaku came out of his shoulder blade and wrapped around his arm.

Since Jin didn't have the time to get accustomed to it as he had had with his rinkaku, he dispersed it immediately. In a normal situation, he would've loved to at least figure out what he could do with it, but at that moment, he only had one thought going through his mind.

Eat. Eat. Eat. Jin had a taste, ate two people, one human, one ghoul, but that wasn't enough. He wanted, no, he needed more. The doors slammed open again, and with mad glee, Jin rushed at his new opponent. His new meal was just as delicious as the previous two.

Eat. Eat. Eat.

Fight after fight, Jin slowly killed his opponents by eating them alive after capturing them. He maximized his time as much as possible while enjoying their delicious flesh. At the same time, Jin was also growing stronger each time he consumed someone.

Eateateat.

Sometimes he gained their memories, while other times, he gained their powers, new kagunes formed in his body, or his current ones got strengthened.

Eateateateateateat.

However, the more Jin ate, ghouls specifically, his mind got cloudier and cloudier. He wasn't sure if he was imagining it or not, but he now had armor around his body? Or was that just his kagune? Either way, Jin didn't care.

EatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEatEat.

Only one thought filled Jin's mind as he just chomped on one of his opponents, eating the man's entire upper body with a single bite. Since when was he that large to do that? Jin questioned himself but didn't bother thinking about it too much. This way, he could eat them faster.

EATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEATEAT.

Jin stopped consciously thinking at that point, focusing solely on a single task. Eating.
