This is exactly what happened to Adrian Walker, an underground musician who only wanted a simple and happy life.

Ten thousand zones with 55 Gods in each zone will compete in the first round. The first five Gods to defeat 10 other Gods will advance to the next round. The defeated Gods will become 10 Commanders for the five winning Gods in the second round.

On top of that, throughout the Battle of the Gods, they will still be given missions and need to fulfill their duties as Gods.
