Kapitel 36: CHAPTER 36:BE GOOD, BABY
On the way, Zhao Xia stopped by a bakery to buy her best friend her favorite cream cake as a gift.
When they arrived at the address Yang Liu had emailed her, she was stunned by the luxury of the place. But the owner of this property was the number one businessman in China so it was inevitable after all.
After a security check at the gate, the two vehicles were granted access. Driving up the road till they reached the mansion, Zhao Xia was awed by the green well kept vegetation that spread far and wide.
At the entrance of the mansion, Yang Liu waited excitedly with her husband, now identified as the Aiguo family's greatest enemy.Once Zhao Xia saw the couple, her heart broke into pieces. Because of her, they might or might not be separated from one another and she definitely didn't want that to happen.
She masked her feelings with a bright smile and took a deep breath before alighting the car. Once outside, Yang Liu engulfed her in a bone crashing hug. "Can't breathe." Zhao Xia said as Yang Liu released her.
"Oh...am sorry. It's just that I missed you so much."
"Here , I bought you your favorite cake." Zhao Xia said as she took the box from her driver.
"Aaw...thank you. It's been a while since I ate it."
She said as she took Zhao Xia's hand and led her up the stairs where Huan Kai was waiting near the door.
"Hello, brother in law." Zhao Xia greeted as she stretched out her hand.
He smiled and accepted her hand. "Hello, sister in law. It's good that you are here to accompany my wife for a while. She has been whining alot lately that she is lonely despite having a twenty four seven husband to accompany her." He joked as he looked at his wife.
"Hey, I was not whining." She complained.
"Sure, you weren't." He said as he guided them in the house.
"You girls have fun. I will be in the study." He said as he moved closer to Yang Liu and kissed her forehead. " Be good, baby. Don't cause trouble for our guest." He added as he ascended the stairs.
Yang Liu's face turned red because of the PDA although ber best friend was the only one around.
"Your face...." Zhao Xia started only to be interrupted by Yang Liu.
"Don't start." She sent her a glare earning a chuckle from Zhao Xia.
"Okay..Let's eat the cake. Am starving."
"You bought the cake as my gift only for you to come and eat it. Seriously, Xia?" Yang Liu complained whilst heading to the kitchen .She placed the cake on the kitchen island and opened one of the cabinets, retrieving two plates, forks and a serrated knife. She cut the cake and handed one plate and a fork to Zhao Xia.
She sat next to her as they dug in.
"So what's being going on with you?" Zhao Xia asked her.
"Well,lately, I have been focusing on my law career. I plan on starting to accept clients' offers. I need to earn some money for myself."
"Wow...that's cool. What about with your hubby?"
"Oh we've been going at it for days. It's like we are bunnies in heat." Yang Liu smirked at her.
"Oh my god, Liu. I didn't ask for details." Zhao Xia sighed.
"What? We are all grown ups. Sex is sex."
"Shut up! What if your husband hears you saying this to your friend? Have some dignity."
"What's dignity?" She chuckled when she saw Zhao Xia's expression. " And what about you and your husband?" She added.
"We are also ...making progress."
"Up to where?"
"Hey, I have dignity in my dictionary so stop asking questions." Zhao Xia retorted.
Yang Liu chuckled. "How about I give you a tour of our house?" She suggested.
"Sure."
Yang Liu showed her around till they reached the inner living room where some framed photos hung from the wall. Zhao Xia observed that some were recently taken and some were the couple's childhood photos.
A certain photo of a young boy and a little girl with two adults standing behind them, she assumed were their parents, suddenly caught her attention. She stopped and looked at it causing Yang Liu to stop too.
"Who are they?"
"Oh...that's my husband's younger self with his sister and parents."
'Just where have I seen this photo?' She soliloquized as she looked at it again.
"He is the only survivor of his family." Yang Liu suddenly spoke in low tone, bringing Zhao Xia from her thoughts.
"Why? What happened?"
"His family was killed in a fire that burned everything in their home down, including the parents and his younger sister. He is always telling me stories about her. He only has this photo of her before they all succumbed."
"Wow! He must have gone through a lot then."
"But, at least he has me now." Yang Liu revealed a soft smile. Only she, knew about her husband's vulnerability and she was happy and content that she was his pillar of comfort. Ever since the day he had opened up to her, he always found comfort with her by his side.All this made her feel giddy inside.
"Why are you smiling like a fool?" Zhao Xia teased.
"I am not." Yang Liu retorted. " Anyway, lately he has been looking for the person who killed his family." She added, changing the subject.
Zhao Xia's body tensed slightly as she looked at Yang Liu. "What?"
"Yeah, he told me that he is looking for a woman known in the underworld as Katina or is it Katana...I don't know, but something like that."
"And how does she look like?"
"No one knows her real face cause she always wears a mask to cover up half of her face. It's really hard to find her. Damn, if I ever see that woman, I will kill her with my bare hands for making my husband suffer like that."
Zhao Xia's face paled. This was not what she wanted!
She had never torched someone's house on fire, adding to the fact that there were innocent people in there, alive.
"And when did his family die?"
"Was it in...the late nineties? Am not very sure of the specific year. But he was only 6 years old and his sister was only two and a half."
"Oh." She answered.
' I am innocent!' Zhao Xia let out a sigh of relief. But Huan Kai didn't know that. Yet.
However, there were still some unanswered questions.
'Was there another Katana before her?'
