Kapitel 24: Aftermath 5:

(Marie's POV)

'That was bad. That was seriously bad.' I nearly made a huge mistake before I finally came to myself.

I am not some damsel in distress, even without the Prince and his entourage I am more than some helpless little girl.

It's about time I remembered that or else I was seriously about to do anything to get rid of that mob, even something that'd ruin me completely.

He could wait… I'd get him back but he could wait. He and that bitch Angelica, they'd both pay… they'll suffer while I live a life of luxury.

After all, I was destined to. I was brought here to realize that goal.

The Holy Relics. The treasures of the saint. Originally they were supposed to go to the main protagonist Olivia, but my healing magic is just as good. I can replace that brainless idiot easily.

With my power as a Saint, I can override that stupid duel. By the end, that boy will be at my feet begging for mercy, I'll get Julius and his lackeys to serve my every whim and send that bitch Angelica off to the countryside.

My perfect win. The taste of the thought was beyond delicious.

All I needed now were some idiots to get there. I was a perfect lady, I wouldn't dirty my hands in the dungeon looking for one of the relics.

With that thought in mind, I turned to the letter I had been putting off since it came. It was from my family.

'You are a shame to not only this family but Noble society as a whole. You have disgraced the Lafan name with your previous actions, to compensate you will pay us more than you already owe. Settle this debt you have soon or there will be further consequences.'

I couldn't help but scrunch the paper in my hand into a ball. This damn family of mine… they all should just drop dead.

'A shame to Noble society?' I'll show you who's a damn shame. My good mood was only halfway ruined, I had gotten kind of used to these types of things.

'Let's see.' I breathed a heavy sigh as I put down the wrinkled letter and grabbed a piece of paper from my desk.

One by one, I wrote down everything I knew about the Saint and the location of the Holy Relics.

I was meant to prosper in this world. Noir Fou Stardia or any other useless mob will hinder that.

(Noir POV)

The couple of days before the end of the term were packed full of annoyances. For starters, the day we got back to the Academy, I had found out that each and every single one of the idiots had requested to call their engagements off.

The result…

"I just don't understand why…" A crying Clarice spoke through sobs as she stood on her knees before Livia, Angie, and me.

I had only spoken to her once after the duel, when she had given me a thumbs up for a job well done. She looked more than shocked when she had watched the video of Jilk's attempt at sabotage.

Apparently, a while after the duel when Jilk had awoken, she had gone to see him in the hospital. The interaction didn't go well and he had openly said he disliked her.

That threw her into a depressive state as she skipped multiple days of school and stayed in her dorm.

It was only yesterday that her father had sent her a letter telling of the request to cancel the engagement.

If she was depressed before, she was just a plain wreck now. So much so that she had ordered Dan to stay away from her.

She had built up enough dignity to try and go for her only final, but in the end, broke back down into tears in front of the janitor's closet.

Hence why Livia, being as nice as she was, was trying to comfort her.

"Why am I, not enough?" Clarice wept and I could see that do something to Angie as she lowered her natural glare into a soft look.

'Oh boy.'

"Stand up, this is unbecoming of a Noble lady," Angie spoke as she offered her a hand.

Julius had also requested the annulment of their engagement, but it seemed she was taking it better than Clarice.

"I don't care… It won't bring Jilk back." She said as she looked up at Angie.

She looked even worse than before. Like she hadn't slept in a year.

"And so what? You're just going to cry yourself to death?" Angie crossed her arms, she looked angry.

She really shouldn't be the one doing this talk, especially when she was just crying not too long ago. Though, at least she was crying for the right reason; she wasted so much of her life on him.

"Angie…" Livia started a little uneasy, in her eyes when someone was sobbing on the floor the last thing one should do is yell at that person.

"I LOVED HIM!" Clarice's voice reached well past us, thankfully no one came to check.

Angie backed up, a little taken aback by her yelling.

'She's a mess.' I pitied the girl. She got her fiancé snatched away by someone who looked like she had yet to reach puberty.

"So what do you plan to do about it? He fell in love with a different girl." I asked with a raised eyebrow, I didn't know this girl well, but if it got us out of this drama faster then so be it.

"I'll make him regret it-." She started, but I cut her off.

"So you want revenge?"

"That's not right." Livia was quick to say. She had a very simple outlook on things, it made me feel complicated.

"…I don't know." Clarice formed a ball as she leaned against the janitor's closet.

"The guy really isn't who you think he is. He is just as scheming and manipulative as Marie is." I kind of expected her to snap at me when I said that but she didn't.

"Not going to refute me?"

"I don't know anymore…" She responded, that video undoubtedly put doubts in her mind.

With a sigh, Angie crouched down next to her. "I understand how you feel, believe me, I do. Being pushed aside like that, wondering what you did wrong… But, you can't throw out everything just because of it."

Clarice had completely fallen from the top 10 rankings since Marie entered the picture. Not only that, her personality in its entirety had changed.

"If you really want revenge, live for yourself and show him how happy you are without him." She continued, I'm sure that was the same thing she told herself.

Livia could sense the same as she went back and hugged Angie to comfort her.

From there I was completely cut from the conversation. Angie seemed to be making an actual effort to help the girl out.

In the end, we had to hurry to our respective rooms for our test. Clarice looked a little better than before but only to the point where she stopped crying.

Angie though, looked like she helped herself more than she helped Clarice.

Good for her.

"Oi, Stardia. I hope you didn't think you were getting out of this."

It was as I was heading back to the apartment with Livia that Greg called out to me.

Looking off to the entrance of the campus my eyes met the redheads.

He was leaning against the gate, surrounding him were his friends who were no longer bedridden, Chris and Julius.

Brad likely was just slow to heal even though he really didn't sustain much, while Jilk was just in that bad of shape.

All around there were students, mostly girls, who had stopped when they saw the Prince.

"Nope, I'm guessing you're ready? Great, tomorrow is the last day so we will do it then." This fight really wouldn't be a big deal. I would embarrass the shit out of him though.

"Get ready, you will pay for what you did." He said before smashing his hand in his fist and then walking off.

Julius stayed around for a bit longer, looking like he wanted to curse me to death, but eventually, he turned his head and walked away with Chris following behind him.

[Master, I have some interesting information.]

Luxion appeared when I had arrived at my apartment. Livia had gone down to her own, apparently, she and Angie were taking Clarice somewhere, probably to take her mind off things.

"Is it about why we can't go into space?" I asked as I undressed. I'd really like to know why that was.

[Unfortunately, progress on that has been stagnant.]

"I thought you were smart," I smirked. "Is this too much for your capabilities?"

[You're right, should I halt the other projects currently ongoing and devote all my resources to finding out?]

"… What did you find out?" My smirk disappeared.

[One of the helpers I left in the other reincarnations room picked up something.]

"You called me a deviant but who's the one stalking her."

[Well unlike you, I wouldn't do it for perverted reasons, I simply am doing what I can to make sure she stays out of Master's way. Plus, her rage is amusing.]

"Yeah yeah, so what did she do," I asked annoyed.

[Well Master, as it seems, she knows a lot more than you about this world, including something called the 'Saint' and various 'Holy Relics.']

Luxion told me all about what he had captured and then copied it down onto a paper I had.

From what she had apparently said aloud, this 'Saint' is supposed to be Livia.

I guess she planned to steal that away from her by taking these 'Holy Relics'.

'Like that's happening.'

If Livia is the Saint I'll make sure she gets them.

Plus, it'll be fun snatching it right from that scheming pint-sized bitch.

A/N: Shorter chap, not much happened. This Arc will end after one or two more chaps.
