Kapitel 116: Wasted Enough Time

For three excruciating long hours, Mullin was using his magic to try and save someone who he knows nothing about. Using his abilities he controlled her body using Life energy to continuously make her to fall into a blissful sleep and also at the same time expel the potent poison residing in her.

Everything was going well and fine, but like everything in the world, every being, its energy must exhaust.

Mullin's energy began to deplete, but Ander seeing his friend healing a woman they saved stayed back to not hinder his progress. Yet, no matter what, he stayed alert. However, he didn't have to wait that long. Six minutes later just as he saw Mullin's hands fall limply from exhaustion an overwhelming presence of ice and chill together with a large amount of untraceable poison burst out of the woman's body.

This amount of energy wouldn't do much to the two men but with Mullin in his current state he could fall into imminent death. Heck, even a child could kill him with a spoon If need be.

The unconscious woman unconsciously burst out with a dangerous amount of frost that Mullin could hardly move to defend himself. Ander couldn't let his friend get hurt in this state. Stirring a huge amount of his energy towards his legs he propelled himself to shield Mullin with his body.

BAM!!

Both Ander and Mullin were sent flying by the shockwave. Ander wrapped his hands around Mullin's 'old' body. Twisting midair so that Mullin would fall on top of his body they crashed into the wall.

"Urgh... Fucken hell." Ander groaned as he let Mullin fall onto the ground then he climbed out of the wall. "Great, now I have to tend to two unconscious people. This is why I hate babysitting." He took Mullin to a bed at the side of the room after making sure of stretching and cracking a few misplaced bones in his body.

A FEW DAYS LATER...

"Urgh..."

"Oh, finally awake, huh? Took you long enough." Ander turned to face Mullin who had groaned. He has gotten a lot better over the days of rest and he now looks a little younger than his sixties look. The gray hair were beginning to fall of hiss head allowing him to be bald once again.

"How's she?" Mullin asked.

"Take a look yourself."

Mullin walked over to where the woman was laid. Silky white-silver hair fell down her shoulder her skin fair like jade. Her body although young was well developed, she doesn't seem to be above 20 years old.

After going over her outer appearance he put a hand over her head, a faint glow appeared but only briefly since he still have to restore his lost energy. Just as the glow in his hands flashed he got an astonished look on his face. Ander saw his expression as well and couldn't help but ask.

"When I was trying to expel the poison within her I wasn't able to do so since my energy was draining rather fast, hence some of the most potent poison which already settled in her system still remained, but... but its all gone." Mullin explained.

"Gone? What do you mean, gone?"

"Its just that, Ander. Gone."

The two men fell into deep thoughts as they have never seen such a thing throughout their days traveling the great lands.

"When do you think she'll awaken?" Ander asked after some silence.

"A week, give or take."

EIGHT DAYS LATER...

"Mm." Mia opened her eyes with a lot of difficulty. Her entire body was weak, it was like she had run an extremely long marathon, her head pounded like a war drum.

Blinking a few times to clear off the blurriness, she saw a wooden roof over her head, by her left was a small table with an almost died out candle, a glass of water was there too. Sitting up she held her head lightly on her hands.

By the far corner of the small room was two beds, undressed. Looked like someone was there not long ago. A small round table with two wooden armed chairs around it. The place was warm and cozy. She raised her head and calmed her racing heart, she tried remembering all that have transpired before she got to where she is.

Lord Williams finally ascended to becoming a Baron .

Shortly after Carolin City was attacked.

The betrayal of Count George.

Taking the Baron and other Lords as prisoners.

Burning the castle.

She and a group of warriors escaping to find Hope.

Being tracked down and chased.

Her comrades sacrificing their lives for hers.

Barely escaping alive into the Wasteland.

Then a continuous barrage of battles of survival against demon creatures.

Seeing a blurry sledge with two blurry figures before passing out.

Those figures must be the ones that must have saved me, she mused. She thought back and realized the figures must have been men... At least one of them would undoubtedly be a man. She quickly checked her body for any abnormalities but found none, however what stumped her was the fact that she was in an entirely new set of clothes save for her panties. She was even wearing a new bra!

Anger flashed in her eyes, she promised to deal with the scoundrel that dare take advantage of her when she wasn't awake. Mia looked up just as the doors of the small room open.

With quick reflexes she grabbed her sword that rest on the wall three meters away from her, she picked up the sword and unsheathed it then waited by the door to open fully. This all happened in a quick span of three seconds. She pressed the tip of the the against the first person that step into the door. Mia smiled inwardly, out of all her misfortunes, all the bad that had happens happened her she did get one good thing though. A level, and not only one but two. She was now a powerful Third-level Elemental Swordswoman.

"Oh wow! Really? And this is how you reps your benefactors? What an ungrateful child." Ander said in displeasure with a sword pressed against his neck.

"Hahaha!" Behind Ander, Mullin. Burst out in laughter. "Looks like she doesn't like you, Ander. Haha." He squeezed himself to pass by Ander that was still being at the door. "Better put down the sword kid."

Mia didn't stop stop and allowed him passage with his bag of groceries. Reluctantly she held down her sword and stepped aside for the bloke to pass by.

"Humph." Ander gave a cold snort. Mia looked at the door I front of her, a white expanse of snow spread in all directions. The chilly y wind hardly affected her as she stood there. "You know, not everyone everyone resistant to the cold like you are." Ander's voice came from within the room behind her.

Mia's mind was conflicted, she wished to run out into the snow and let it guide her to wherever it may. Yet, there was something about these two men inside that made her want to stay. Slowly she closed the door and stepped inside.

"That must have been a very hard decision for you huh? Don't worry you should be fine here for the time being." Mullin said to her.

"Where...?" Mia couldn't speak because her voice was very croaked.

"Geez kid! At least have some trust. I personally dropped you a cup of water when you wake up." Ander proceeded to hand her the same cup of water. When Mia held the big cup she greedily drank the whole thing. "Whoa, whoa, slowly goddamnit! If you like death so much don't come choking yourself in my tent. Hah, kids so troublesome." Ander lamented. Mullin could only laugh at his friends demise. "Hey! Now try breathing slowly before you talk huh." Ander quickly added when he saw Mia trying to talk immediately after drinking the water.

Taking a deep breath she felt her body loosen. The tall bloks was right, she needs to calm her nerves. "Where is here?" She asked. Even though she asked this she had one thought in mind, she felt the bloke must have made a mistake calling this cottage a tent. It must be because he was a bit frustrated.

"Oh 'here' isn't that far away from the duchy of Edwa, one small duchies away from BlackAsh Kingdom. I guess that's where you mist be heading huh?" Mullin answered outing things into the cupboard in the kitchen. "We're in Torkhn."

An hour later Mullin prepared dinner for three. For the days to come all three of them lived together. Mullin and Ander would go out to get a thing or two in turns. Whenever Ander going he would be challenged by Mia from time to time because of his incessant bragging with the sword and his battles of old. There was always doubt whenever Mia hears his story because his stories always sound like something that was picked out from a novel. And it sounded very old for the bloks to be the one who experienced them.

During her time here though Mia never slacked in her training. After listening to Mullin's advise of reducing her daily training and move them to the night as her training schedule she found out her training speed increased. She realized the night had more ice elements gathered in the atmosphere than during the day.
