It has been a month since Mia began living with Mullin and Ander. She has now felt that she has wasted enough time and have decided to continur on her journey. Although she would have loved to asked the two men for help, to be the hope she was here for, the hope her friends sacrificed their lives for, she knew they weren't the one.
Just like every other day dusk arrived. The three sat round the dinning table, steaming plates of soup served before them. They were all eating in silence... Well, except for the latter, she was unable to eat properly and this didn't escape Mullin's eyes.
"What's the matter, Mia? You aren't eating." Hearing his voice made Mia flinch but she didn't look up. "Is there something bothering you?"
"Of course she looks troubled, Mullin. She obviously misses home. I guess she shouldn't have run off after all."
"I am looking for someone, but I don't know where I can find him. He is the reason I'm here..."
"That isn't a reason to risk your life by going through the wastelands just to look for some boy." Ander said. Mullin however was quiet, he felt that there was more to the story.
"...A year ago his home... Our home was destroyed, attacked by the barbarians who worshiped the Wicked gods. Many people died, may taken as prisoners, many enslaved. The kingdom wasn't able to lend a hand because the same that happened to our city was happening in many other places. I and my friends escaped captivity in hope of finding him but we were intercepted by the Wicked god believers. They sacrificed their lives so I can find him and bring him back to help our home." By the tine she was done tears fell from her eyes. Her eyes were red.
"I would have been happy that you're are leaving but your story almost made my heart to waver..." Just as he wanted to continue he received a slap on the head.
"Just who is this person that you think he can help an entire kingdom from the hands of those god believers? After all he's just one man." Mullin retracted his hands and gently asked.
"His father is... or was the baron of his territory. He is also a Chosen of a magic institute called The Phantom."
"The Phantom, ehn? Hey Ander, weren't we heading there...?"
"No, we..." Ander wanted to deny the claim but was cut off as Mullin continue on.
"...How about we tag along on the way. I can ala tell that you have no idea how to locate the magic institute. Well, don't worry, Ander can be called the best navigator the lands have ever seen. I'm also great at tracking almost anything, unless that thing no longer exists, as long as it has Life force consider it found. With this I think we can be of little help, don't you think so too Ander?" Ander didn't refute but mumbled ceaselessly.
Mia was taken aback by their words... Well, Mullin's words because Ander clearly didn't agree, but since he didn't protest she believed its their words. She had wanted to ask them to follow her back to Carolin City to fight along side her but couldn't bring herself to do so. But them asking to join her in search of the person that would, she readily accepted the offer.
"Yes, please. I'll be grateful for your help." Mia stood from her chair and did a warriors bow towards the two.
"Oh please, get up girl. Tell me do you by any chance have anything that would belong to him alone?" Mullin asked.
Although confused by such a request she answered truthfully. "No, I do not."
"Hmm, oh well. Would have been better but what can we do? One step at a time then, huh." Turning to Ander he asked. "Do you still have it in you to be able to locate The Phantom."
"Hah, I guess I could try. Just do you know, Magic Institutes and Colleges are hard to find especially if they don't want to be found." Ander answered sighing.
"Okay, its settled. We'll set out by morning." Mullin declare.
"I will go first. I'll still need to sleep." Mia hastily drank her plate of soup in jiffy and tidied everything before heading to bed. She was really excited to have these two mysterious men accompany her.
"Not like its going to make me any prettier but I do need to sleep as well." Ander rose to his feet but before he could get to his bed he was dragged by Mullin by his collar.
"Oh no you don't lad."
(AN: Hmm, I wonder what y'all thinking about this?)
When morning rose Mullin had already began packing up a few things into his bag. Ander was fully loaded with bags. Most of them contained very thick coats. Mia during her stay was able to purchase a nice set of clothes and inner wears after having to sell her armour. After donning her clothes she strapped her sword by her side. She stood tall and tied her hair into a ponytail, it made her crystal blue eyes to stand out beautifully.
Mullin wore his normal wears, which was no other than black pants and brown open chested vest that had less than four buttons. It was as if he was about to take a walk in the open beach instead of the chilly roads of winter. There was simply no logic to it.
Ander however, wore a light armour underneath a very thick heavy coat. A complete contrast to both his companions dressing code.
"How the Hell aren't you guys fazed buy the chill. It is literally snowing fist-sized snow balls out here.!" His eyes flashed with a hint hint jealousy in them.
"The chill hardly affect because I was born with an Ice Elemental Seed and a domain." Although she tried to retain her usual cold face her voice was lased with a bit of pride. When she looked at the two before her, she was surprised to see them standing there with their mouth wide agape. "I do wonder how you do keep yourself warm though, Mullin?" Mia asked not minding no expression.
"It's... Uh... Nothing special. We have to get going." Mullin decisively dodged the question.
All three persons left the cottage and faced it. No matter how time she sees the sight before he she would always remain amazed. Eh she had first seen the sight before her she remembered when first officially official the two blokes. Ander had mentioned that she shouldn't die in his tent. At the time she felt it was a mistake. But seeing it she realized it really was a tent. A magic tent. With a wave of his hand the tent was folded into a big bag.
They walked for a few metres then stop. Before the three was a four Horse-deer sledge. Horse-deer are a type if deer with feature of a horse. They are a lot better than horses in the cold and stronger that a deer. This made them a perfect mount for extremely wealthy merchants and ice sledges.
Their first stop was a nearby town to gather some money, and what better way was there for these three warrior clad individuals to gather money? The Hunter's Guild, of course.
Mia feeling the wind in her hair as she rode with the two was very happy. Her only shortcoming was escaping in a haste. If she had waited to get the information of where The Phantom was located she wouldn't be in this headless fly chase. Her search would have been easier. But then again, if she had waited there was no knowing if she would have even escaped in the first place.
