It was the third week of the last month of the year. Only a week to the new year. News got out that the Golden Heart restaurant will be opening by the beginning of new year. Many people were excited and couldn't wait for the year to end.
Yet, just like every other day, asides from the joyous and cheerful atmosphere of the seasons holiday it was business as usual. Lots and lots of people greeted and waved at one another as they passed by each other.
Hu!
Ben alighted from the carriage and breath out a thick clog of air from his mouth. As they arrived at a three storey square shaped building he stood to take in his surrounding. He had never been to this organization despite being one of his profession. It was 30 metres wide from the outside and built with dark brown stone. It also had a large numbers of chimneys.
Ben wore brown leather pants and a white tunic shirt, round his neck was a black scarf. In his hand he held a rectangular box about 1.5 metres long and a foot in width. The weight of the box made his boots sink in the snow.
Ben made his way towards the entrance and was greeted with quite a number of people, but unlike the Hunter's Guild, this place was a little quiet. Light murmurs, shuffling of boots, and quarrels in bargains could only be heard.
On the walls various accessories and armoury was hung. Spectacular designs and exquisite craft was lavishly displayed. At one section delicate jewelries were the eye catcher of every lady who set foot here. Some men could be seen there too, looking for what to get there woman once they return. Asides from all the items that was displayed, what Ben loved the most about this place was that inside the building was explicitly warm and the very dull banging of metals coming from another floor.
"Welcome sir, this is the esteemed Blacksmith Guild of this good town. Where you can buy and sell any type of accessories, be they jewelry, cutlery or armoury. Any the suits your fancy." A young man came up to Ben and explained what was available. "Please, do tell how we may be of service, sir."
"I would like to register under the Blacksmith Guild as a smith." Ben said with a smile on his face. Ben was quite surprised with the treatment given to the people coming here. It should be known that if one was working in such an Organization one is bound to be consumed by arrogance. Even when met with an aristocrat someone working in such a huge Guild will undoubtedly become aloof.
"Really? Well then, if you are here for the Apprentice Blacksmiths examination, you will have to fill in a few documents and if you can't read that will be fine as someone will assist you. As long as you know tour ores then there wouldn't be any problem." The young man turned on his heels and began heading towards a certain direction. "Well, come along now."
At this moment Ben couldn't help but facepalm himself. He just realized he gave out the wrong information or more like an incomplete information.
"No, no I think you got it all wrong. I'm here for the Advanced-level Blacksmith examination and not the other way round." Ben tried clarifying.
The young man who was already ahead of Ben turned around and faced Ben in astonishment. What was hard for the young man to believe was that Ben wasnt even as old as he is. He was even quite sure Ben hadn't reached 25 despite Ben's physique.
"What did you just say? I think you meant Apprentice-level, right?" The young man asked with an awkward smile.
"I do mean Advanced-level Blacksmith. Here I made this myself." Ben handed the rectangular case to him.
When the young man opened the case he knew that with a single glance this was indeed a top quality sword of its making. But then his face flashed with a frown, that hidden flash of greed in his eye did not escaped Ben's sharp eyes. Ben inwardly shook his head.
"You know you can be arrested for theft. Ti come here saying that you are a blacksmith and an Advanced-level Blacksmith no less makes the offence even worse. Yet, you even claim that this is a making of yours? Despicable. Guards!" The young man shouted for the guards to take Ben away.
Surprised! Ben was utterly shell shocked by the turn of events. He just didn't understand. In less than ten seconds four guards had already appeared, surrounded him. Sighing lowly, he never expected such an occurrence. However, he already knew one thing about this world, no matter what spices, one way or the other must always have a case where the Law of the Jungle will always surface and this is one of those cases.
Sighing lightly once more he thought to himself, "Time for bullshit acting."
Just when the guards were about to reach out their hands ha drag Ben away a holy light encapsulated him. Wind began to circulate around him. His eyes was staring intently intently the young man.
Everyone in the vicinity gasped at the scene unfolding before them and backed off, afraid of what might happen if the were any closer. The wind blasted the four guards, yet, left the young man unharmed and unmoved. He just stood there dumbfounded in front of Ben. Ben didn't even have to do anything to make him not run away.
Harry was death pale as he stood I front of... He doesn't even know what to call him. But, the only thing only came to his mind was that he really fucked up, big time.
He had seen a small number of Unspokens, but the mistake which he has just committed he never did. This mainly because he was able to distinguishing them by their clothes, their their of speech, their walking steps, even their arrogance will always be evident on their face. However, the man before him has none of those characteristics, hence why he messed up, and he knew for certain that if this man was to decide to want his life then no one would be there to stop him as they, the Unspokens, stood in the pinnacle of power.
It was only for thirty seconds yet it felt like hours to Harry. When Harry finally was able to move his legs he could hardly take a good step and tripped landing on his butt.
"Why do you attack me when I gave done nothing wrong?" Ben questioned but got no answer. 'Oops, looks like he lost his ability ability speak, well it's his fault for being rude' Ben thought inwardly. Slowly Ben retracted his magic.
"Please... Please forgive mighty sir. I... I was unable to recognize Mt. Everpace. Harry tried scrambling further away from Ben but his hands were currently like jelly.
"What is the meaning of this? What's going on here?" An extremely enraged voice came from the direction of the stairs. The person who dared channel magic the Blacksmith Guild must have never entered any of their building to know the rules or must be a complete idiot to think he or she can dare act so outrageous. Hover mused.
When the people around turned their heads to see who had come to challenge the mysterious young looking man with strange abilities they saw a dwarf run down the flight of stairs. With a big hammer in his hands.
Ben looked at the small sized human, he didn't want to be rash because he indeed knew the rules guiding the Guild. He was told about it personally by Mr. Grant. So no matter what he wouldn't want to aggravate the issues anymore than it already is.
"I'm sorry Mr. smith, it is however just a misunderstanding, everything is settled now." Hearing this Hover was unpleased. What he was seeing did not look like a misunderstanding at all, it looked more like the string bullying the weak.
"It doesn' look like som' misunderstandin' to me lad. You better give a reasonable explanation for this or you'll be arrested and punished by the Blacksmith Guild.
