Kapitel 106: Eevee??
"Well, that's it. I'm alone again," I muttered as we walked through the forest, the morning dews from the tall grass dampening my shoes. Zorua's little footsteps followed me, playing in the grass at my side. I look at her. A smile crept up on my face when I saw her.
"Well, I guess i'm not alone," Zorua looked up to me confused as to what i'm saying. I kneeled down by her side, petting her head, her soft black fur mixed in with red. A pleasant touch.
We kept going through the forest. The scenery and sights early in the morning were breathtaking, Pidgeys flying above us hunting for their daily caterpie, the rattatas running around looking for scraps left behind by trainers and other pokemon. The beautiful blue sky, but I wasn't really keen on any of it. Most of that just reminds me of- No, ignore all that just keep moving forward!
Eventually Zorua and I decided to come to a stop to rest a bit. I sat on a fallen log to eat breakfast for the day, letting my pokemon run wild amongst themselves. A sense of warmth filled my seeing them play but it wasn't enough..
I took a bite out of my egg sandwich the gentle forest breeze blowing against me,
'I hope she makes it,' I thought, an instant wave of disgust crashing down on me,
Why would I think of that now after everything I said. Make up your mind!
I took another bite of my sandwich, my thoughts interrupted by a sudden rustling in the bushes and a rattata being shot in our direction. We all looked up, alert and ready to defend ourselves.
"Eevee!" A small, sharp cry came from the bushes. A tiny, brown paw emerged, followed by tall brown ears with beady black eyes. It revealed a small creature that looked like a fennec fox, a dog, and a cat all rolled into one.
I froze, my mind racing to make sense of this unexpected encounter. Zorua and my other Pokemon tensed up, ready to protect me if necessary. The atmosphere grew tense, and none of us dared to move. Even though there were three of us, the creature stood its ground, looking furious for some reason.
My heart pounded in my chest as I took a cautious step back, keeping my gaze locked on the pokemon. It was a standoff, an intense moment in the tranquil forest, broken only by the sounds of our breaths and the rustling leaves in the wind.
I raised my pokedex to it, trying to get some info on the weird creature.
"EEVEE, the evolution pokemon. Its genetic code is irregular. It may mutate if it is exposed to radiation from element STONEs." The robotic voice of the pokedex filled the tense silence between us.
Eevee huh?" I muttered to myself upon hearing about the weird creature in front of me.
Suddenly, voices of grown adults reached our ears. I turned to see two male officers, clearly out of breath from their pursuit.
"Hey, have you seen an Eevee around here?" They asked urgently, as if they were in a hurry.
My eyes darted toward the bush where the Eevee had appeared, but to my astonishment, it had vanished, taking the rattata with it.
"There..." My voice trailed off as I realized it was gone.
"Crap, it got away again!" One of the officers threw their caps to the forest floor in frustration, their hurried pursuit ending in disappointment.
"Hey by the way, why are you looking for an Eevee?" I asked out of curiosity,
"It's been terrorizing some that pass through here on the way to fuchsia city lately, we tried putting up signs to stop people from coming but that only encouraged daredevils that want that strong bastard for themselves." The cop took off his hat, on closer inspection, he was a decent looking guy, having blue hair and marine blue eyes. The other one with pink hair and pink eyes looked like twins almost.
"Anyway, if you see that Eevee again, please call us, here." He reached out and grabbed my pokedex, putting in his work number inside.
"Ring us if you got any intel we'll keep searching here so you have a great day."
I nodded, looking at my pokemon with a smile.
"Are you guys ready to go?"
