Chapter 6: A Dangerous Encounter
Not long after his training, Ren felt a change in the air. A sense of impending danger enveloped him as he advanced down a new corridor. The buzzing of the lights became more irregular, as if something was interfering with them. At the far end of the corridor, a shadow moved swiftly.
- "System, what do we have here?"
_"Warning: higher level entity detected. This creature is stronger and faster than the previous one. High risk of damage."_
Ren adjusted his stance, ready for combat.
-"Let's see what it's made of."
Out of the darkness emerged an entity completely different from the previous one. It was a humanoid figure, but its skin was black as night, and its body seemed to be made of a shifting, viscous substance. Its eyes glowed with a red intensity, and a guttural roar escaped from its throat.
Ren wasted no time. He activated the breathing technique immediately, feeling his body tighten and his energy rise to its maximum. The creature charged towards him with surprising speed, but Ren was prepared.
He dodged the first blow gracefully, spinning on his axis to deflect the attack. With a swift movement, he launched a series of precise blows to the creature's body.
However, the entity did not stand still. It counterattacked with unforeseen brutality, hurling Ren into a nearby wall. The impact reverberated throughout his body, but thanks to his training and increased stamina, he was able to recover quickly.
- "She's tougher than she looks," Ren commented, getting up and adjusting his breathing.
_"Ren, I recommend that you keep your breathing technique steady. This entity has a large quantity of energy, and defeating it could provide you with a big boost."_
Ren nodded. He took a firm stance, inhaling deeply, feeling his energy flow more strongly through his body. The combat continued, but this time Ren took the advantage. With precise movements, he avoided the creature's attacks and countered with devastating blows.
Finally, with a final scream, the entity fell to the ground, dissolving into a dense shadow.
_"Decomposing entity... Energy absorbed. Significant increase in physical stats. Total energy increased by 20%. New energy has been stored."_
Ren took a moment to catch his breath, noticing how his body was being fill with energy. Not only had he survived, but he now felt stronger than ever before.
