Kapitel 2: Chapter–2

After calming down Roland checked his location on the map and found out he was not very far from Pallet Twon. So he decided to head there. There is a lot of stuff he needs to understand.

Has the canon started or is it the post-canon?

He needs to find out the timeline.

Which version of Pokemon he is in?

Is it the main show featuring Ash or the side series featuring Red in other terms Pokemon Origin.

Roland's feet moved quickly while thinking of all this. The distance between Roland and Pallet Twon can be covered in ten minutes at maximum. However, he realized his body is a lot more healthy. Therefore, he arrived there in about 5 minutes.

Roland began to look around the town as he walked toward the biggest building with a windmill. Not much was different compared to what he saw in the anime.

Same big fields growing corpses. The town was relatively peaceful with small houses. There wasn't anything in particular to look at, though the scenery was great.

In no time Roland arrived at professor Oak's house-cum-laboratory.

Knock! Knock!

"Hello, I came to get my first Pokemon." Shouted Roland after knocking on the door.

.

.

A few moments later, a grey-haired old man wearing white lab coat opened the door.

"Ah, a new trainer. Hello, I'm Samual Oak. You can call me professor Oak. Come in." Said professor Oka, after introducing himself.

"Thank you. I'm Roland Moris, nice to meet you professor Oak. I am a big fan of yours. Especially, your poems related to Pokemon." Said Roland. He decided to butter up professor Oak as he's a very important and capable person. In addition to being the most famous Pokemon researcher, he was the former champion of the Kanto region.

Building a good relationship with this kind of person is beneficial in many ways.

"Haha, I knew there are people who appreciate my poems. Please wait a bit, I'll get your trainer ID as well as some pokeballs." Delighted by his compliment, professor Oak chuckled and went away. Leaving Roland in his lab.

After looking around for a while, Roland discovered a picture of professor Oak with two people. One was a grown brunette with a slender figure, the other person was a little kid with spiky brown hair wearing a haughty expression.

'So it's the main series.' He thought, seeing both Gary and Daisy Oak together with professor Oak. None of them appeared in the origin series.

"Hey grandpa, you know what that idiot Ash did today..."

Someone came into the lab. It was a boy about nine-ten years old with spiky brown hair. His face was dripping with too much arrogance.

"Oh...Gary, what did I tell you? Don't make fun of Ash. Haah, you just won't listen." Professor Oak too came back at the same time. He was holding a Pokedex, six pokeballs, and a badge holder. He slumped his shoulders as if tired by Gary's disrespectful attitude.

Roland could understand. When in comes to training Pokemon, Gary was initially brilliant. Much better than Ash, he had the potential to win the indigo league. But, his pride led to him underestimating his opponent. Ultimately resulting in his defeat.

"Tsk, that Ash is a total fool. No matter what you say. Whatever, is he a new trainer?" Questioned Gary, staring toward me.

"Yes, he is Roland. Roland, please don't mind his rude behaviour. He's Gary Oak, my grandson."

"Don't worry, I don't mind." He shook his head. There was no point in getting worked up over a ten year old brat. Although, in this world people mature early. For Roland who came from earth, it'd be too embarrassing.

"Moving on, here this is your Pokedex and Pokeballs. Take this badge case too." Professor Oak handed all the items to Roland.

"Thank you." Said Roland. Professor Oak just shrugged his shoulders. It was his job to give those things to a rookie trainer anyway.

"There is still one last thing left to do. You have to choose a starter Pokemon." Said professor Oak with a smile, when he saw Roland's expression brightening up. He could tell from a glance Roland was someone who loved Pokemon' very much.

"Here, choose any one of them." Professor Oak brought out three pokeballs and three small incredibly chubby Pokemon.

They were none other than Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle!

<<Char-char-charmander!!>>

<<Squir-squirtle!!>>

<<Bulba-bulba-bulbasaur!!>>

Three of them exclaimed at the same time. They were just kids not older than one month. The way they gazed at everything with their eyes filled with pure curiosity and innocence was hella cute!!

'Appraisal' Roland said mentally.

[Species: Charmander

Age: 1 month

Gender: Male

Level: 4

Potential: Excellent

Moves: Scratch, Growl, Amber]

[Species: Bulbasaur

Age: 1 month

Gender: Male

Level: 2

Potential: Good

Moves: Tackle, Growl]

[Species: Squirtle

Gender: Female

Age: 1.2 month

Level: 3

Potential: Good

Moves: Takle, Tail Whip, Water Gun]

After looking at their levels and potential, it was clear as day who to choose. Their stats also show the difference between Pokemon found in the wild and Pokemon who grew up under human care.

Roland's Magikarp was three months old, yet he was only level 2. Moreover, it also had excellent potential. On the other hand, Charmander who is only one month old is level 4 already. He too has excellent potential.

This is the difference between a wild and a domestic Pokemon. Better nutrition along with good habitat results in Pokemon growing a lot faster.

Walking closer toward the little Charmander. Ronald bent over one knee and took out a pokemon food from his pocket. Kidding, he just put his hands inside a pocket in order to avoid suspicion.

"Here take it." He said while putting on his most harmless smile.

Sniff, sniff...

Charmander smelled the food first. When the delicious aroma of the best quality pokemon food given by the system assaulted his nose.

Num, num...

The young Charmander quickly gobbled it up.

<<Char, cha, char, charmander>>

It appears, Charmander became addicted to the taste as it asked for more.

"Haha, you want more?"

<<Char-Charmander!!>>

"Then you'll have to come with me. What do you say? I'll make sure one day you become an incredible Charizard." Said Roland, he tried to build a friendly relationship with every Pokemon he catches. This way, it will be much smoother to train them.

Pokemon willing to listen is much easier to handle than a rebellious one.

Above all, he doesn't want to force a Pokemon to make them yield. He prefers the gentle and affectionate way over violence.

However, he also knows that some Pokemon are battle maniacs, who won't submit until you beat them. For those types of Pokemon he has to use a heavy hand. So, he won't shy away from fights.
