Kapitel 11: Injured Assassin
'System, can I take Dany and my dragon to the game world?'
〖AUTHORIZATION DENIED.〗
'Then how can I?'

'But I don't have any more slots. How can we increase them?'
Kaida sighed from the cold silence from the other side. Though he had no plan to talk them to the Elden world, he hoped in the near future he could bring people back and forth through the worlds.
Why doesn't he want to take Dany to the game world?
It was because of his fear of her rejection. In the world, he was a genius student, the youngest millionaire. Whereas on the other side, he is a pathetic Tarnished who couldn't even beat a boss fair and square. So how could he even look at her face when she saw how much she struggled against simple enemies? Worse, he was scared of his brainwashing ability, which made him a coward and treated others in the world as nothing more than a 'Meat shield.'
So Kaiden has to gain his confidence first.
In this situation, Kaida has to choose between either living with that cowardice or becoming an actual lord.
"When are you leaving?" asked Dany with a sad tone.
"In a minute," Kaida replied with an equally disappointed tone.

Dany sighed, seeing him disappear in a swirl of space. Glancing back at the 'clock,' she noticed it was morning already. Thankfully when she was magically transported here, she gained basic information to survive, but not only that, like Kaida, she too has gained the 'system' rewards.
"Damn... If I had this in my world, I would have saved my kingdom!" Dany murmured, gazing at the red fire in her harms. Not only she felt immense power in her muscles, a Vlyarian sword on he waist, she could summon fire similar to dragon fire. This made her think about what it would be like to have these back in her world.
Her musing was suddenly interrupted by the rigging on the doorbell. She leaned forwards into the computer Kaida had set up for her, and she noticed a group of students standing outside the world. Though her instincts were telling her there were more of the students than they had seen outside.
'Come on, Dany. You wouldn't want your master's house to get robbed during his absence.'
Unknown to Kaido, as he was the 'Dragonlord,' he would need a queen. As Dany was the Queen of all Dragons, she would be more than happy to fill that place.
"Who. Are you?" Dany questioned in a cold tone as she opened the door.
"Wait, Grayfia?"
"No, President, we might have come to the wrong house."
"We came to the right house, pervert!"
A frown appeared on her face seeing a boy ogling at her chest and her face. If it weren't for her master, she would burn him with Dragonfire.
"I ask again. Who are you?" Dany didn't like how her dragon instincts were attracted by the pervert who was staring at her chest. But taking a deep breath, she noticed the boy to have a dragon aura, but weaker, much weaker than her master.
"Issei, stop it!" The red-haired girl said, seeing a scowl slowly appear on Dany's face. Seeing someone the same age as her and immensely more beautiful, she couldn't help but feel a little insecure.
"Ano, is this Kaido-san's house?" Questioned a petite girl, making Dany interested inwardly, realizing she was looking at a girl who, like her, has a strong affinity towards dragons.
"Yes. He is busy right now. If you want something, you can tell me, and I will inform you when he is free."
Almost immediately, all the students sighed, their stiff shoulders relaxed, and a slight smile appeared on their faces.
"I see. Excuse me. I am Rias Gremory. And I insist this matter is almost important. So can you call him?"
All of a sudden, a massive pressure descended over everyone and soon followed a cold voice that made every freeze.
"Do Not use pesky mind magic on me. This will be the last warning. You better leave!"
Dany clicked her tongue seeing everyone ready to attack and didn't listen to her. Just as she was preparing a massive firestorm, the red-haired girl, Rias, came forward, spreading her arms.
"Wait! We want no trouble. Last time, he was attacked by a fallen angel. As I am the representative leader of the town, l wanted to make sure he was okay."
Dany narrowed her eyes, and with her ability to discern any being's true nature, she could sense Rias, though hiding something meant no harm. She could use her second ability to find anyone's secrets, but she was a little hesitant because she didn't know the exact race of the people in front of her.
Right now, she needs to focus on what happened to her master. Though he seemed fine, she was worried about the attack he had received.
"He is fine and recovering. Did you find out which Fallen Angel attacked him?"
Rias nodded her head. After giving a quick glance at the silent Akeno, she replied, "Yes. Her name is Raynare. But unfortunately, she escaped during the battle. It was the reason we came here, to both inform us well talk about what happened."
Dany scoffed silently; if what this girl was saying was true, it was their fault for letting a criminal run around, as well as letting them escape. Oh, she is going to enjoy catching that runt who dared attack her master.
"Thank you, and as it said, he is busy. As soon as he is free, i will immediately inform him."
"Ahem... Are you so close to Kaida-san? If so, thank you for being his friend. He seems rather lonely and sad in the class."
Seeing this adorable girl's kind nature, a slight smile appeared on her face. She doesn't even need to use her ability to know that this girl has pure intentions.
"If you don't mind, what is your relationship with him?" asked Rias, who seemed to be interested in other people's business. She can tell, this girl is extremely noisy.
"That is mine and his business. If you have nothing more to say, please leave. I am already at my wit's end from holding myself back from attacking the lecherous garbage."
A frown appeared on Rias as she turned around to see Issie still staring at the woman's chest without shame. But she didn't like how the woman was treating her cute little servants.
"I see; excuse us. But please hold your tongue, as I am still the leader of the town. But before we leave, I want to let you know that you are an unregistered magician. So either meet me at the school or meet Sona Sitri at the school to check your validity."

Unknown that Dany had already caused some friction towards the Devil of the town, Kaida was clearing a catacomb. Even if he did, he wouldn't mind; it's not like he was their friend. On the contrary, if he saw the 'Succubus,' he would've thrown a fit.
"Damn. The bare minimum variety of the monster in catacombs is surely annoying." Everywhere he went, were two pesky Fanged Imps, which with just one swipe of their sickle, filled his <Bleed> meter. But they weren't a match for Doyle, who is the MVP!
"Blood Blade!"
Immediately a projectile of blood traveled from his bleeding blade toward the Imp, making it explode into pieces.
"Even the ash of war is considerably stronger. I am sure I can put a big scratch on the metal."
Soon he reached the yellow fog wall. He was so not excited to fight the same enemy, he had fought many times.
"Sigh... This catacomb is near its end. This time it will be a little faster than the last one~" After gaining the essence of Dragonlord, even though he chose sorcerer as his option, his talent in combat definitely changed. Though he didn't change much, he noticed the way he held a sword, even a simple slash, was more refined.

"It is time to fight the boss." Murmuring himself, he passed through the wall, leaving behind Doyle and useless Narcissa. He still hasn't made up his mind about whether to throw her or not.
Just as he stepped inside, he immediately noticed the strange air around the room. It felt different, like the other catacomb boss room. And soon, he was able to spot a hooded being sitting down, looking injured.
The first thought which came to his mind was, 'Shit! Should I run?'
But an image of the silver-haired girl appeared in his mind. The way she carried herself, her warm yet elegant tone, and her beautiful lilac eyes. He quickly shook his head and even was ashamed at his cowardice.
'Am I just going to be a coward all the time? No. I should change, not just for me, but also for Dany, who is dependent on me!' He summoned her forcibly to this world, so he was responsible for both her happiness and safety.
Before he knew it, Kaida readied his stance, his face had a serious expression on his face. For once in his life, he wanted to prove himself.
"Crucify"
Seeing a large cross implanted at the back of the Black Knife Assassin, he charged at the enemy with a swing of his katana, thrusting towards the face of the enemy, making sure not to miss with this powerful attack. It would be impossible to dodge this attack if he were at full health and mana, but unfortunately, he was facing someone who, though injured, is the special assassin organization trained by Queen Marika herself.
Even with her stats down, she broke free of the crucifixion and in a flash, used a quick movement to dodge the blade and counterattack. It was a simple parry with a dagger. This was followed by a slash at the neck of the opponent. But the damage was nullified by the silver glove in his right hand.
Kaida didn't give her time to attack, he thrust his left hand with a nail between his two fingers, "Holy Nail Thrust!"
The opponent's reaction was fast. She blocked the blow with her left hand and then swiftly brought her right hand up, slamming it into Kaida's chest, sending him flying across the room. He landed against the wall, his sword falling out of his hands. He groaned in pain as he rolled onto the ground.
"Ugh..." He coughed as he tried to regain his breath. His vision was hazy, and he couldn't see anything clearly, which caused him to take a sip of Crimson Tear Flask immediately.
Regaining his vigor, he got off the ground and noticed blood was gushing at the assassin's abdomen, and one of her leg was slightly injured. He played no part in that, but that isn't going to stop him from taking advantage of it.
He rushed at the woman, trying to get close enough to strike her, but she dodged the attack, her daggers coming out from her sleeves in front of her. However, she could not avoid the nails that pierced her arms and legs. Blood spurted out from her wounds, causing her to lose balance, which had just given enough time for Kaid to slash his sword across her chest.
"Ahh!" The woman gasped, her body going limp. Her eyes opened wide, her mouth gaping, and her voice sounded weak and hoarse as if she had lost her strength.
Kaida was a little surprised to hear a female voice behind the mask. In the game, they acted as they were programmed to; only attack and not speak a word.
"You don't need to fight me. I only came here in search of treasure. If you let me take that chest, I will leave."
There was no response coming from the assassin, yet he could see her shoulder was slightly more relaxed.
"I can see you are injured and very talented with that dagger. So how about this, you accompany me on the journey towards the capital while I protect you. I only need a teacher who can teach me."
Kaira immediately dropped to the ground, as his head barely missed the dagger she threw, which made him grab his swords, realizing this woman had just attacked him.
"Lie. Tell the truth!" A freezing cold voice came from the mask. Unlike before, it wasn't weak but rather strong.
Kaida frowned, realizing this woman could tell the truth for lies. Still alert, he continues, "Fine. I wanted you to become my subordinate while I conquer this land. But the teaching and healing part is true. Queen Marika is no more, so you don't have to serve her anymore."
Though it sounded normal on the outside, the assassin froze for a brief second from the hidden implications.
"I should kill you here and now for your initial goal, Tarnished." She said in a low voice, holding her dagger tightly, ready to approach him with a swift step.
"And you think you can? I haven't even shown you my trump card, and you are already at a quarter of your health. And even if you somehow kill me, you will die soon from your injuries. If you don't like my goal for the throne, there are many others who can take my place. Don't you find it suspicious how suddenly the Queen disappeared, and all of a sudden, Tarnished started rising again? The only one that has that power is the Elden Lord, who is nowhere here."
A hidden smile appeared on Kaido, who, too, was wearing a black hood.
"Maybe Queen Marika is imprisoned at the foot of the Erdtree, where suspiciously, the cast-out Omen, Morgott, is now guarding. The son, who was abandoned in the sewers, suddenly came out after the disappearance of the Queen. Pfft!"
The more Kaida spoke, the more interested the assassin became. Even the dagger she was so protective of wasn't raised to his throat.
"If you want to save the Queen, then I am not the man for the job. I have no desire to save anyone except myself. As long as I have the chance to live, I will continue to pursue my goals. If you wish to stop me, go and certainly try. As for the Queen, Morgott must have killed her or been imprisoned at the foot of Erdtree, a place only capable of holding such a person as her. So I ask you again, will you stay here and die a useless death, or work for your future king? But know that there is no one becoming the Elden Lord other than me!"

A/N: This will be AU; whatever I am writing will be AU, so this will be my own spin on things to make it enjoyable.
When I wrote this fanfic(Few months after the game), there weren't many lore videos, and whatever I watched was based on speculation and not complete facts. So please be patient, as I don't feel like rewriting an entire fanfic because there are new lore videos or because of misinformation.
BUT I will be happy to learn from my mistakes, so correct me if I am wrong on both Elden Ring and future worlds ( •̀ ᴗ - )✧
