Arthur POV
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
I just couldn't stop myself. 'This 'MAN', who acted all high and mighty like 'ohh im mister big devil and you puny human' is in actuality a little bitch boy who skipped training day HAHAHAHAH'
….
"Hahhh. Okay, okay. Im calm now. fuuu" I opened my eyes back up and noticed the silence, looking around, I noticed all of them were staring at me in disbelief.
"What are you laughing at boy?" Zeoticus asked me, his voice carrying slight anger. I put my arms up in surrender before smiling at him. "Ahh, don't worry about it. I could tell you but I think you'd get offended"
Poor Rias had no idea what was going on, she just stood there with confusion bubbling up on her face, giving me and her father alternating looks. Millicas looked much the same.
Venelana and Grayfia however looked genuinely curious.
"Im pretty sure that anything a human tells me wont mean much to me in the long run, im quite the sturdy man, you can tell me, I wont get offended." Zeoticus said smugly.
"You're anything BUT sturdy my friend. You have gained such little power in the thousand years you've been alive, I felt it only necessary to laugh after analysing your wife's power. And in comparison, the difference in power between you two is like the distance between the earth and stars. Its massive. This simply makes me think you are too prideful and arrogant for your own good. However, considering I'm a human you have no reason to heed my words, after all, you are a 'sturdy man' as you say and nothing I say means much" I finished with a grin.
I mean, if the silence was anything to go by, I might of thought I shocked them.
"A-Arthur!" Rias shouted at me. "What? I did literally nothing wrong? He said I could say it, and now I've said it, you all act shocked." I said gesturing to them all with a wave of my hand.
"Its one thing to get judged by one of my own race, but to be judged by a human no less? Rias, what sort of imbecile have you brought into our home!?" Zeoticus questioned his daughter, but I interrupted before she could reply.
"The sort that is trying to help her out of an arranged marriage. Why would you do that anyway? Is she nothing but a broodmare for you to auction away to another devil for the sake of better negotiations between two houses? For shame!" I mocked him, with each person knowing what I said was truthful.
Rias looked to me and smiled, her perfect white teeth showing. I could see the gratefulness in her eyes along with the somewhat glossy look they were getting from the tears threatening to escape. All but forgetting I just roasted her dad at the stake. Though anger soon reared its head and she looked to her dad.
Before you she could besiege him with insults as well, Grayfia interrupted. "I think that's enough everyone" She said looking towards the married couple and me and Rias, probably trying to salvage the situation. Millicas all but forgotten, stood behind her, eyes darting between everyone in the hallway. Though I wasn't having any of it.
"You know, im getting sick of this shit. I've met the leaders of 2 of the great factions, as well as some of there people, and so far the devils have done nothing but insult me and throw slander towards my people, other than the very few, such as the guards at your gate. I mean look at Azazel! No! Zaz, because were on a nickname basis even though we had known each other for a single night. Me and him have each others numbers, and I would gladly go to the club with him, because he's a solid guy. Not once did he judge me for my humanity." I said, looking towards them all.
"What's with you old dudes being like this? Rias and Sona, along with their peerages were all respectful to me, or at least somewhat nice and look at me now. Back in the underworld, after being treated poorly for the third or fourth time in a row, even after saying I wont come back, because I want to be with my friend, Rias, because I care for her and she's in a troubling situation, because her OWN father has decided her future and tied her to an idiotic, arrogant, prick of man-whore, just because he's the son of a lord. Ughhh." I finished with a sigh, before summoning my throne and slouching upon it.
…
…
"Fufu. I see you care greatly for out daughter. Has something happened between you two dear Rias?" Venelana asked her daughter with a mischievous smirk.
Rias looked to her mother, her face blushing up a storm. "N-NO! Of course not! Why ask such a thing!" She said timidly before coming to me and sitting on my lap, hiding her face in my collar.
'You're not really helping your own case here Rias' I thought to myself with a sigh. I tilted her head towards mine and smiled softly, deciding it was time to take my leave, no longer feeling comfortable within her household.
"I think its about time to leave. It was nice to meet your parents...Well, one of them at least." I whispered to her. She put her face back into my collar and nodded her head in acceptance.
"Don't worry. Train your absolute hardest and give him your best shot. I'll be watching from afar, and if worst comes to worst, ill put a stop to the whole thing, no friend of mine is going to marry that prick unwillingly." I whispered to her again, wrapping my arms around her waste and pulling her into a hug.
I heard her whisper a 'thank you' into my shoulder and I nodded while holding her waist. After a couple more seconds, I pulled her up from my lap and turned to the other inhabitants of the household.
"Right, I believe I've outstayed my welcome, so I'll be leaving." I said to them all. Grayfia sighed before looking to the floor. Venelana noticed this action and turned her head towards me. "Now, now. There's no reason to leave just yet, you've just gotten here after all. I understand things haven't gone exceedingly well, but you're welcome to stay longer" she said with a hopeful smile.
"No, I think its best he leaves dear. He most likely has better things to be doing" Zeoticus said as he glowered at me. My eyes narrowed at him and I smirked.
"Yeah you're right, I do. I Need to go to heaven, see if they want some sort of an alliance with 2 primordial beings." I said with a sigh. Grayfia once again stepped up, genuinely looking concerned, the other inhabitants in the rooms stared at me, eyes wide and bewildered. "Wait please Arthur-Sama! I hope you come to meet with Sirzechs later as requested, he would be very happy if you agreed." She asked optimistically.
I looked from her to Zeoticus, then back again. "Hmm, nah, sorry. Im just a simple human after all, I don't deserve to be in the presence of someone so grand!" I said jokingly.
Zeoticus at this point looked like a lost child. "Grayfia, what is this boy talking about?" he asked, sounding unsure.
Grayfia turned to look at him before speaking. "Let me introduce you to" She said as she gestured to me. "Arthur Liones, heir to the Liones household at the rank of duke, descendants of Solomon, the king of magic. He is also a primordial being and the brother of Ophis, the infinite dragon god"
The look on the couples faces was priceless. Zeoticus looked at me, his jaw slacked along with being bug eyed, and best of all. Terrified. Completely and utterly terrified. Whereas Venelana had her eyes wide open, looking confused, curious and somewhat pleased, if the smile was something to go by.
'The fuck is she smiling at?' I thought to myself, slightly concerned at the look Rias's mother was giving me.
"I-I, I see. Forgive me, Liones-Sama. I was unaware of your stature" Zeoticus muttered with a trembling voice.
"Yeah, whatever." I looked from him to Venelana. "Well, I best be off then, things to do, places to be and all that jazz." I declared to her without breaking eye contact. "It was an honor to meet someone as lovely and beautiful as you Vene-hime. I hope we see each other soon" I said to her, finally separating our gazes.
"Bye Grayfia" I said to her with a nod before turning to Millicas. "In a bit little man. Train hard, and if you need something, get Rias to contact me anytime, she has my number" I spoke to him as I held his shoulder.
I turned to Rias with a cheeky smile before speaking. "And of course, I must say bye to Little-miss Rias."
Rias giggled before smiling up at me and pulling me into a hug. "I'll see you soon Arthur. Don't be too friendly with the angels and forget about me!"
I laughed and kissed her cheek. "Of course not Rias." I disengaged from our hug before turning back to the group.
"Ciao"
And then I disappeared.
