"Guests?" TenTen looked confused for a moment before realizing what Kirito meant. "You mean those rogue ninjas are here?"
"They'll reach us in about ten minutes," Kirito replied calmly, staring out over the sea. "There are four of them. One is underwater—probably preparing to launch a sneak attack."
"We should leave now!" The old boatman panicked, rushing to start the engine of the yacht.
"Can we escape?" TenTen asked Kirito.
"No," Kirito replied. "Even at full speed, they'll catch up in about fifteen minutes."
"Then what do we do?" The boatman's voice trembled as he considered the possibility of being attacked.
"It's fine," TenTen reassured him, unfurling her scroll with a confident grin. "We'll handle it."
Seeing their determination, the boatman hesitated but ultimately trusted them. He turned off the engine and stayed close, ready to flee if things went south.
Ten minutes later, three figures emerged on the horizon, silhouetted against the sea. Clad in masks and dark blue trench coats, they wasted no time. One of them stepped forward, forming hand seals.
"Water Style: Water Shockwave!"
A massive wave surged forward, towering like a wall and threatening to engulf the yacht.
"Let me handle this!" TenTen yelled, stopping Kirito before he could act. "It's time to test the new move!"
Positioning herself firmly, TenTen held up her scroll and activated the technique:
"Ultra-High Pressure Water Cannon!"
A black dot formed on the scroll, quickly expanding into a disk. From it, a concentrated, high-pressure column of water shot out like a spear. The jet pierced the wave with force, carving through it and striking the masked ninja behind it.
"Ahh—!" The rogue ninja screamed as the water column propelled him into the distance, vanishing over the horizon.
The once-threatening wave lost its momentum and dispersed into harmless ripples.
"Got him!" TenTen cheered, her confidence soaring as she swung the water column like a massive club.
The remaining two ninjas evaded the attack, diving beneath the sea's surface. The calm waters masked their movements, but TenTen prepared for the next strike.
"Your turn," she said, stepping back to conserve her chakra.
Kirito leaped from the yacht, landing on the water with a soft ripple.
Suddenly, two columns of water erupted from the surface, aiming straight for him. Kirito reacted swiftly, his foot slicing through the air in a powerful kick. The water columns shattered into droplets, and the ninja hiding within dissolved into harmless splashes.
"Water clones," TenTen observed, recognizing the tactic.
Kirito pressed forward, frost radiating from his feet and spreading across the sea. The freezing wave forced the remaining ninjas out of hiding, retreating to avoid the encroaching ice.
"Dammit, it's a Mist ninja!" one of the rogues shouted.
"No, worse. That's Ice Release!" another muttered, panic evident in his voice.
Before they could regroup, Kirito blurred forward, appearing behind them in an instant. A powerful kick sent all three hurtling back onto the ice.
The impact left them dazed, but one managed to form a series of seals:
"Water Style: Exploding Water Shockwave!"
The ocean itself seemed to rise as a titanic wave surged toward Kirito, threatening to swallow him whole. The boatman panicked, yelling, "We're doomed!"
TenTen looked on with awe. "Water-style ninjas are terrifying at sea," she muttered, gripping her scroll tightly.
But Kirito remained unshaken. His left hand turned crimson, radiating heat and emitting faint wisps of smoke.
Lava Release: Volcanic Hammer!
Kirito's arm swelled, encased in molten lava that dripped and hissed against the ice below. With a single punch, he unleashed a massive lava fist that collided with the wave.
The impact was deafening, like a volcanic eruption. Steam and heat filled the air as the wave evaporated instantly, leaving the sea boiling and frothing.
The lava fist didn't stop there—it barreled forward, striking the remaining two ninjas and creating a molten wall on the water's surface.
As the lava cooled, it formed a rough, jagged "island" on the sea. The two rogues were nowhere to be seen, either incinerated or buried beneath the molten rock.
TenTen stared in stunned silence. "That... was insane."
The old boatman gawked at the scene, his jaw hanging open. "Is he even human?"
Kirito returned to the yacht, his expression calm despite the destruction he had just unleashed.
"When did you learn Lava Release?" TenTen asked, still processing what she'd witnessed.
"During the trip," Kirito replied casually. "I'd been working on it since mastering Ice Release."
"You make it sound so simple," TenTen muttered, exasperated.
Changing the subject, she asked, "What about those rogue ninjas? Did you learn anything from them?"
"They were defectors from the Mist Village," Kirito explained. "They've been hiding on a nearby island, eliminating anyone who got too close."
"So, do we head to the island?" TenTen asked.
Kirito nodded. Guided by the boatman, they reached the desolate island. It was barren and unremarkable save for a hidden cave.
Using his Byakugan, Kirito confirmed there were no remaining threats. Inside the cave, they found supplies, weapons, and scrolls—evidence of the rogues' operations.
They took what was useful and left the rest for the boatman to distribute among the fishermen who had suffered under the rogue ninjas.
With their mission complete, the pair returned to the Land of Waves and began their journey back to Konoha the next day.
