Kapitel 77: Chapter 5

Kairi squatted by the altar, rubbing his eyes beneath his sunglasses. "Why do I always have the bad luck of being made summoned in the Holy Grail War twice?" he muttered.

Having arrived in the city due to a forced contract, Kairi rushed to this tomb to construct a magic workshop. After tirelessly gathering materials, he built the altar, only for it to fail. Using the Holy Relic in the best possible location, he attempted to summon using the fact the servant has Hades' blessing, but nothing happened. According to the contract, if the summoning failed, he was to immediately mail the flagstone, which the organization intended to use for their summoning purposes. However, that was beside the point.

Immediately, without even a second to spare, Kairi sought out a Mage's Association contact and finally returned to the tomb at noon. After a quick nap, he was ready to summon once more.

"Alright, let's do this," Kairi said, placing the fragment of the Knights of the Round Table on the altar and starting to chant.

This was his first Holy Grail War, and yesterday's failed summoning had been a blow. Normally, a Holy Relic should guarantee a Heroic Spirit's appearance. Who from the Knights of the Round Table would want to team up with a Necromancer like him?

As he silently despaired, a stabbing pain brought him back to focus. Magical power surged towards the altar. "A success finally!" Kairi exclaimed, surprised at how smoothly it was going. The demand for magical power was immense—this Heroic Spirit was extraordinary!

A loud thud echoed as a knight in a bullhorn helmet appeared before him. "Are you my master?" she asked, her voice firm.

Kairi extended his hand, forcing a smile. "Yes, I am."

The knight ignored his hand, surveying the surroundings. "Your smile matches this tomb perfectly," she noted disdainfully, removing her helmet to reveal her face. "It's an unsettling place."

"Sorry, it's the best base I have," Kairi apologized, scratching his head.

"A Necromancer? How troublesome," the knight muttered, then nodded. "But since you prepared this altar meticulously, I will forgive you."

Kairi was surprised to find the knight was a girl, but he decided to keep the altar's second-hand nature to himself.

The knight stamped her large sword into the ground. "What a half-hearted effort," she grumbled.

Kairi was speechless. "How was I supposed to know what effects your Noble Phantasm might have?"

"Ha! My Noble Phantasm doesn't have strange effects, master. Haven't you figured out who I am?" she demanded.

"Actually, I didn't check your stats," Kairi admitted awkwardly.

The knight looked shocked. "You summoned me by accident?!"

"Yeah, it was a bit of a fluke," Kairi confessed.

"What did you use to summon me?" she asked, frustration evident.

"Before you, he used a flag then he used a piece of the round table," a third voice interrupted.

Kairi almost drew his shotgun, but another figure appeared.

"I'm not your enemy. I'm..."

"Attack!" the knight yelled, spinning to strike the newcomer with her sword.

The white-haired figure, Cyd, caught her sword with one hand and knocked on her helmet with the other. "I am not your enemy. I am..."

"Master, this guy is a Heroic Spirit! And a strong one!" the knight said, releasing her sword and kicking Cyd.

"I said wait I'm not here to!"

The battle ensued. The knight swung wildly, and Cyd dodged skillfully, using his cloak and transforming scales to block her attacks.

"I'm Ruler!" Cyd yelled his cloak morphing into a dragon's claw, gripping the knight's foot. The knight summoned red lightning, but Cyd remained unscathed, fending off the attacks with ease.

"Wait, Saber! He's a Ruler. We can't attack him!" Kairi shouted.

The knight hesitated, then withdrew her helmet, revealing a beautiful but furious face. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"

"Sorry, Ruler! She thought you were an enemy," Kairi apologized, dragging the struggling knight away.

"I didn't mind, but you should control her better," Cyd remarked, examining the knight's large sword before tossing it back to her.

"Awuu!" The knight bared her teeth in a snarl and bit on his hand.

"Ouch!" Kairi winced, holding his hand.

"Remember, next time I might bite your hand off completely," the knight warned, folding her arms.

"Her physical strength is B+. Under her bite, your hand would be gone she actually put pressure in her bite," Cyd commented, throwing the sword back to the knight.

"Not a great start, but it could be worse," Kairi muttered, inspecting the deep teeth marks on his hand. "This will leave a scar."
