Chapter 41: When the Wishing Lamp Begins to Transform

As Hastur looked closely, he discovered that the star's light was nearly black, surrounded by a dark aura, giving off a sinister and eerie vibe.

The star where the Fallen Mother Goddess resided emitted a crimson light, like a blood-red moon hidden within, or perhaps it could be described as the primordial moon.

The star where the Wishing Lamp resided shone with a pale golden light, a color of majesty mixed with miracles.

Seeing the colors of the stars' light was a new change that appeared in the Hall of Stars after his promotion to Sequence 8, which helped him understand some characteristics of the stars.

In the dim black light, a huge, bloated tree could be vaguely seen rising to the sky. In the center of the tree, a figure was tightly bound by countless branches. The dense trunk and branches drooped with heavy fruits, each covered with red lines that formed smiling faces.

It was a very bizarre scene that made Hastur's heart skip a beat.

After observing carefully for a long time, he made a rough judgment.

The Outer God corresponding to this star should be the Mother Tree of DesireTree, known as Cassava.

The tightly bound figure was very likely the deity at the end of the alien path, the Chained Godwho originally created the Rose School! According to the information revealed by the scene, the Chained God had been completely eroded and occupied by the Mother Tree of Desire

Hastur only glanced a few times before averting his gaze, equally wary of the Mother Tree of Desire

Among all the Outer Gods and the Old Days, both She and the Fallen Mother Goddess had the power to influence the present world through the barrier, and their corrupting nature was significant, requiring utmost vigilance.

If one was not careful, one would end up bearing children for the Mother Tree of Desire

The Mother Tree of Desire Tree would arouse the desire in beings to reproduce, causing the contaminated beings to mate with each other.

If it were the Fallen Mother Goddess, he would not need the desire to reproduce but would spontaneously develop the instinct and ability to do so.

Well, even though he was a man, as long as he was contaminated by the power of the Fallen Mother Goddess, the child would be born from him.

He certainly did not want to become what one might call a 'male mother.'

Just thinking about that scenario made Hastur shiver; it was truly terrifying!

Compared to the other two, the Wishing Lamp was simply a harmless little lamb!

For the first time, Hastur felt he had been a bit unfriendly to the Wishing Lamp in the past.

But he quickly dismissed the thought; he still had to test how much power he could now wield in the Hall of Stars.

He withdrew his gaze and looked towards the star where the Wishing Lamp resided.

Compared to the earlier black light, the pale golden light was like heaven to the former's hell.

"Eh…"

Hastur finally saw the Wishing Lamp sealed within the wishing lamp, and his field of vision had also expanded several times over.

Previously, he could only see within one meter around the wishing lamp; now, he could see at least three meters.

He could clearly see the wishing lamp sealed in a small iron cage in a room, which should be a ship's cabin, as the sky outside was clearly filled with lightning and thunder, and the sound of waves crashing could be faintly heard.

Thump, thump, thump.

Hastur tapped his fingers on the table, producing a rhythmic sound.

Now that he had two Chains of Order and his spirituality had greatly increased, could he play some new tricks? …

Inside the wishing lamp, the Wishing Lamp suddenly felt a wave of malice coming from the starry sky above.

"Damn it! What does He want to do now!"

With a gloomy face, the Wishing Lamp emerged from the wishing lamp and looked up at the sky, sensing that his days ahead were going to get increasingly difficult.

At His level, He could sense in advance the forces that could affect His fate.

The feeling wasn't strong enough before, but now, He could clearly sense it.

A change that could affect His destiny was imminent, whether for good or bad, He could not discern.

He could only vaguely sense that within the malice, a new opportunity would arise.

For Him, the best opportunity would be to return to the starry sky sooner rather than later; He did not want to be trapped in this wishing lamp when the end times arrived.

"The power of the stars… A new opportunity…"

The Lamp God's gloomy expression gradually faded as He began to ponder.

He now believed that as long as that mysterious being was willing to lend a hand, He could break free from the seal and return to the starry sky.

But what conditions did He have now that could move the other party? With His current power, fulfilling wishes below the level of true gods was still possible, but for higher levels, He would need to break free and recover completely.

Such power was obviously not something that the mysterious being would value.

"Perhaps, He really needs me."

After much thought, the Wishing Lamp came up with a possibility.

The other party's status and authority would definitely not be lower than His, and might even be higher.

Such beings were few and far between across the entire starry sky; if there was no need for His help, why would He keep an eye on Him every day?

Compared to the other party, His only advantage was that He was within the barrier, while the other was above the starry sky!

The reason the other could penetrate the barrier and affect Him might be due to some special relationship with Him or perhaps because of the wishing lamp itself.

He needed His power within the barrier to help Him accomplish some things that He currently couldn't do, which was why He kept an eye on Him! It was a reasonable guess!

Just as the Wishing Lamp was deep in thought, a phantom whip fell from the starry sky, striking Him fiercely! The entire small iron cage was flung out, crashing into a wooden table in the cabin and coming to a stop.

The force of this whip was much stronger than before; it hurt a bit but was still within the tolerable range.

Before the Wishing Lamp could react, another whip whistled down, striking Him again! The entire small iron cage spun around, smashing many items in the cabin.

The continuous sound of items breaking alerted Bernadette outside. She immediately dismissed the nearby sailors and entered the room alone.

As soon as she looked up, she saw the small iron cage holding the wishing lamp being held aloft by two whips, one on each side.

The scene was as if someone had extended a pair of hands to hold up the wishing lamp for casual observation.

Not good!

Bernadette reacted quickly, strengthening the seal on the small iron cage to prevent the Wishing Lamp inside the wishing lamp from escaping during this opportunity.

If the Wishing Lamp broke free, it would be a disaster! Divine descents were quite normal, and not just one true god! Whether it was the Seven Great Righteous Gods or the Primordial Witch, the Fallen Creator, and other evil gods, none would allow the Wishing Lamp to escape the barrier at such a time!

Soon, the sealing power was strengthened, and the small iron cage successfully sealed the wishing lamp, dropping it from mid-air.

The two whips that had fallen from the starry sky had also disappeared without a trace, leaving no sense of their presence.

Bernadette's brows furrowed; she suspected that it wasn't her strengthening of the seal that had worked, but rather that the owner of the whips had chosen to leave on their own.

Compared to the first disturbance, this one was undoubtedly much larger.

From this, it could be seen that the being above the starry sky was gaining more influence over the present world.

This was not a good thing.

If the other party truly came with good intentions, why would they provoke the Wishing Lamp every night instead of talking to her?

Not only did the Wishing Lamp not understand this behavior, but as an observer, she also found it hard to comprehend.

Sometimes she even wondered why the other party didn't just help the Wishing Lamp break the seal?

From the Lamp God's reaction and her observations over the past month, she was certain that the other party had no intention of helping the Wishing Lamp break the seal.

Not helping, yet coming every night to whip the Lamp Godâ€"did they have some strange fetish? Or were they enemies of the Lamp God? Deliberately humiliating the Wishing Lamp in this manner?

She couldn't understand it and didn't dare to delve deeper into the matter.

Knowledge was poisonous, a lesson she had learned along the way. Knowing too much meant danger was closer.

"Damn it! If you have the guts, show yourself and let me see who you are!"

"Hiding and skulking, truly despicable!"

"All these humiliations, the day I break free, I will surely go to the starry sky to settle this account with you!"

At that moment, the Wishing Lamp timely displayed His anger, and the angry expression on His face did not seem feigned.

"Heh, be quiet."

With a wave of her right hand, Bernadette slapped the wishing lamp and the small iron cage away.

She was in a bad mood, and it was just right to vent on the Lamp God.

For the past month, she had been troubled by this matter every night, unable to sleep peacefully.

Moreover, to prevent accidents, she had to let the ship wander near the Storm Temple.

This had already alerted the higher-ups of the Storm Church, and even a saint had descended.

If this continued, she would have to give up the wishing lamp and hand it over to the Seven Great Righteous Gods' Church for suppression.

In doing so, she would lose a trump card that could turn the situation around.

The more she thought about it, the ang

The more she thought about it, the angrier Bernadette became. Her eyes grew cold, and her pretty face turned frosty as she whipped the wishing lamp back and forth in mid-air, venting her anger.

"Bernadette! Even you…"

"Shut up!"

With another slap, Bernadette sent the wishing lamp spinning several times with the Wishing Lamp inside.

"Hmph!"

The Wishing Lamp snorted coldly and retreated back into the wishing lamp, not wanting to provoke Bernadette further while she was still fuming.

After a brief venting, Bernadette felt much better. She checked the seal again and, finding no damage, she finally turned and left the room.

Inside the wishing lamp, the Lamp God's angry expression faded, replaced by a thoughtful one.

Tonight, He wasn't as angry as He had appeared to be; in fact, He was somewhat looking forward to the changes that were to come.

As long as the other party needed His help, they could form a cooperative relationship, which would be beneficial for Him to break the seal.

Initially, He had been worried that the other party might have the same authority as Him and might one day devour Him, but after over a month of observation, He gradually dismissed this guess.

If He were the other party, He would never reveal His intentions prematurely, nor would He make casual contact, lest He arouse His own wariness and vigilance.

Waiting silently for the right moment and then striking a fatal blow would be the approach of a top predator.

"Perhaps in the near future, I will be able to return to the starry sky."

The Wishing Lamp thought of the prospect of returning to the starry sky and regaining His full strength soon, and for once, His mood was genuinely pleasant.
