Kapitel 157: Kara's Perfect Performance

Upon seeing Kara's appearance and age, the reporters in the room became somewhat restless.

Is this the fourth member of the Justice League?

Golden wavy hair, a delicate oval face, large almond-shaped eyes, and a youthful appearance...

Judging by her looks and age alone, it seemed more fitting to describe Kara as a young girl protected by superheroes rather than the fourth superhero of the Justice League.

Kara hadn't even showcased her superpowers yet, but she had already succeeded in making the reporters in the room doubt whether she had the ability to protect others with her looks and physique alone.

Some male reporters couldn't help but let their gazes linger on Kara's exposed midriff and the absolute territory beneath her super short skirt.

As soon as Kara entered the conference room through a side door, not many reporters cared about Russell standing at the podium anymore.

At the moment Kara made her appearance, Russell, who had been the center of attention during the press conference, suddenly became a supporting character.

However, Russell didn't mind this at all.

Amidst the flashing lights and the numerous camera lenses, Kara approached Russell, radiating a warm and charming smile, much like the sun.

"It's your turn now!"

Russell gave up his position at the podium and said to Kara.

Kara nodded and stepped up to the podium, adjusting the height of the microphone.

Then, following the script prepared by No. 3, Kara began her self-introduction.

As for Russell, who had now become a supporting character, he silently stepped aside.

Unlike the previous press conferences, the reporters in the audience didn't focus on questions about Kara's superpowers or why she joined the Justice League. Instead, they asked detailed questions about her personal life and experiences.

Seeing the questions the reporters were asking now, Russell began to wonder if No. 3 had mistakenly invited entertainment reporters to the event rather than the media he had anticipated.

However, he didn't interfere with the reporters' intentions.

These were the questions Kara needed to face.

If she wanted to become a beloved superhero among the people and the media, she needed to learn how to handle these situations.

Russell had initially thought that Kara might appear awkward and flustered, but she proved something with her actions.

That was, once Kryptonians started using their brains, they were often smarter than most people on Earth.

Russell didn't know if Kara was as intelligent as her cousin Superman, Clark Kent.

However, he did know that Superman, Clark Kent, possessed superhuman intelligence far beyond that of regular Earthlings.

Superman, Clark Kent, could grasp a new language in just a few seconds of conversation, fluently speaking every known Earth language, as well as having knowledge about 28 known star systems. He could read all published medical books in 5 minutes, acquiring knowledge that would take an ordinary person 10 years to learn.

Although Superman, Clark Kent, often appeared somewhat reluctant to use his intellect, it couldn't be denied that he possessed extraordinary intelligence.

As Superman, Clark Kent's cousin, Kara, even if she didn't have the astonishing superhuman intelligence of Superman, Clark Kent, she was likely not far behind.

While Kara had indeed appeared somewhat naive before, Russell believed she wouldn't embarrass the Kryptonians or the prestigious El family.

Using the information provided by No. 3 as a template, Kara easily handled the reporters' tricky questions.

Seeing Kara's performance now, Russell breathed a sigh of relief.

Excellent!

This girl didn't bring disgrace to the El family of Krypton.

The press conference was originally scheduled from 3 PM to 4 PM.

However, due to the reporters' enthusiasm and Kara's flawless performance, the conference continued until 5 PM.

Once the reporters left Octopus Monster Industry under the guidance of the staff, Russell and Kara took a private elevator back to the top-floor chairman's office.

"You did a great job, and I'm impressed!" Russell said to Kara with a smile.

"Of course, you didn't even take a look at who I am," Kara replied in a playful tone, raising her delicate and fair oval face.

"Yes, yes, you're the best!" Russell said, chuckling.

Kara was clearly in a much better mood now than she had been in the morning.

Although her coquettish behavior could be a bit exasperating at times, it couldn't be denied that a slightly coquettish female superhero was more appealing.

After returning to the office, Russell went straight to the liquor cabinet, opened a bottle of Johnny Walker.

"Want a drink?" he asked.

"Yes!" Kara replied without hesitation.

Although Kara didn't meet the legal drinking age of 21 in the United States, neither Russell nor she cared about that rule.

They weren't American citizens, and they didn't need to abide by American laws.

After pouring a glass for each of them, Russell went to the seating area and handed one of the glasses to Kara.

Taking the glass he offered, Kara gracefully raised her slender neck and took a sip.

Russell sat across from Kara, watching her somewhat enticing actions, and took a sip from his own glass.

Perhaps it was because of Kara's casual posture, but Russell's gaze couldn't help but be drawn to the absolute territory beneath her super short skirt.

Sensing his gaze, Kara didn't restrain herself; instead, she struck an even more enticing pose.

Russell, however, pushed aside any lascivious thoughts and focused his attention on the taste of the Johnny Walker.

Seeing that Russell remained unaffected, Kara, with a slightly dissatisfied expression, made a disdainful noise.

"Hmph!"

"Don't 'hmph' me; if you 'hmph' again, you'll be just like a pig," Russell said nonchalantly.

His survival instincts were only fully awakened in front of Diana.

In Gwen's presence, he could only exert about eighty percent of his potential.

As for in front of Kara, his survival instincts were completely offline.

"You..." Kara widened her already large, round eyes, looking at him unhappily.

"Now that you've officially joined the Justice League, starting tomorrow, you won't have to stay in the office all day as a secretary with a fancy title," Russell said, ignoring Kara's displeasure. "If you have time, go out more, boost your reputation, and showcase your superpowers."

"Okay," Kara replied quietly.

"Oh, by the way, if you encounter that fire guy who can fly, make sure to keep your distance. He's not a good person."

Russell was referring to the Human Torch, Johnny Storm, a member of the Fantastic Four. Although this guy looked like a twin brother of Captain America, Steve Rogers, his character was far from Captain America's.

From a certain perspective, his personality was similar to Tony Stark and Russell, both not the kind of well-behaved men.

While Johnny Storm wasn't a match for Kara, Russell thought it was better to warn her in advance. Kara lacked worldly experience, and he didn't want her to be deceived by someone like Johnny Storm.
