Kapitel 96: Chance Encounter with Banner
The office floor of the Stardust Charity Organization.
Russell sat in Diana's office, looking at the documents that had just been handed over by Peter's beautiful aunt, May.
This office was originally his, but he had only been here once.
Then, it became Diana's office.
No choice there, since Diana was now the head of the charity organization.
Russell quickly finished reading the documents in his hand and looked up at May, who stood before him.
May was wearing light blue denim pants today, which perfectly outlined her long leg curves.
Her top was a blue vertically striped shirt that went well with the jeans.
The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up to her elbows, and several buttons on the front of the shirt were undone, revealing a noticeable cleavage when she bent over.
Additionally, May wore gold-framed glasses and had a circular earring on her left ear that was larger than a ring.
Her golden hair was neatly combed, cascading naturally and falling behind her shoulders.
Seeing May's attire for the day, Russell couldn't help but take a few more glances.
Meanwhile, images of May's previous profession emerged in his mind.
A night-shift nurse!
After imagining May in a nurse's uniform for a moment, Russell closed the documents in his hand and said slowly, "The plan looks good, go ahead with your plan, and don't worry about funding."
After transforming the homeless shelter that originally belonged to Mr. Martin Li into the charity organization, May was now responsible for not just the homeless shelter but also a range of other charitable initiatives.
This included helping people who were homeless due to unemployment and families with housewives who were injured due to domestic violence, and so on.
There were many similar charitable projects, mostly focusing on those who needed immediate assistance.
"Alright, thank you for your support, Mr. Bradley!"
A smile of joy appeared on May's face as she came up to Russell, bending over to retrieve the documents from his hand.
When she bent over to take the documents, Russell once again noticed her determination.
Women with determination were indeed different!
Russell praised silently in his mind.
He wasn't mocking May; he genuinely meant his praise.
May wasn't the type to exploit her looks to achieve her goals; her attire today was simply her own style.
"Alright, you can go now. If there are any other projects that need financial support, feel free to contact me or Miss Prince anytime."
Russell spoke to May.
He had come here to handle the charity organization's matters tonight because Diana happened to be busy today.
May contacted Diana, and Diana contacted him.
And that's how he ended up here.
Diana was currently working with colleagues at the museum, deciphering the encrypted Dead Sea Scrolls. She wouldn't even have time for lunch if there were any new breakthroughs.
Watching May leave the office and habitually estimating her measurements, Russell, seated in the boss's chair, transformed into the appearance of the superhero serum.
Since he was already out of the Octopus Monster Industries CEO's office, he might as well complete today's "act of kindness."
After transforming into the superhero serum, Russell went to the window, opened it, and jumped out.
The charity organization's office building was on the 12th floor.
It was an ordinary office building.
There were many companies inside, including several non-profit organizations like the Stardust Charity Organization.
That's why he had chosen this location for the Stardust Charity Organization's office – being in the same building with many other non-profits was almost like how financial companies gathered on Wall Street.
After leaving the office, Russell's white tendrils swung, and he moved rapidly through the "jungle" of high-rise buildings.
Peaceful New York City always had people in need of assistance.
Without much effort, Russell, in his superhero serum form, located today's "act of kindness" target.
It was a high-rise building on fire, with the floor above the topmost floor affected by the fire.
Despite several fire trucks and police cars blaring their sirens on the street below, the fire was too high up, surpassing the reach of fire hoses and rescue ladders.
Without hesitation, Russell flew toward the burning building.
In less than three minutes, he rescued the residents trapped on the rooftop.
As he rescued the trapped residents, he also saved several residents' pet cats and dogs.
If it was based on his real personality, he wouldn't bother with these pets.
He wasn't like that colleague at the Continental Hotel who loved dogs.
But there was nothing he could do – he was currently playing the role of a superhero serum.
In this country where political correctness had become extreme, he had to do some politically correct things.
After rescuing the trapped residents and their pets and cooperating with the on-site reporters to leave behind photos for the newspapers, Russell shot out his white tendrils toward the nearby building. He intended to return directly to the Octopus Monster Industries headquarters in Manhattan.
However, while he was still in a relatively cheerful mood, swinging his tendrils back to his CEO's office, he suddenly saw two familiar figures.
Why were they here?
Although they were quite far away, Russell's eyesight was excellent.
He recognized at a glance that it was Banner and Betty, who had just gotten out of a taxi and were arguing.
Seeing them, Russell moved to a nearby building's rooftop, observing them from above.
It had been almost a month since Banner had escaped from General Ross.
According to Banner's past experience with escaping, a month's time should be enough for them to get back to Brazil.
Seeing Betty walking ahead in anger, with Banner following silently, Russell quickly guessed their purpose.
If there was anything in New York that Banner might still care about, it would be Dr. Samuel Sterns, who had always discussed the cure solution with him.
After confirming their direction of movement, Russell's mind suddenly formed a plan.
Recruit Banner into the Justice League!
Though Tony had created Mark 3, and Captain America Steve Rogers had already been dug out by S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers remained only in Nick Fury's plans and hadn't been executed yet.
Since the Avengers hadn't appeared yet, and Banner hadn't joined them, bringing him into the Justice League might be a good decision.
