Kapitel 47: An offer you can't refuse

Three adults and two children stared at one man sitting quietly in a chair in front of a desk . You could tell by his demeanor that he didn't care that he was in a building full of assassins completely disregarding the woman who has life or death power here.
" Alright alright I'm leaving now , let me at least say hello to my little Trivia . "
Said Hei looking at Neo who despite her seriousness apparently felt uncomfortable that someone besides her new family knows her past. Seeing this nervousness in Neo Kurumi took a step to the side covering the two-colored girl with her body .
" With full respect Mr. Hei but I believe Neo does not want to talk to you ".
Says Kurumi surprising Cherry who was already surprised after hearing Neo's old name . However, Kurumi's attitude towards Hei was no less of a surprise to the woman . On the other hand Ash and Copper did not seem surprised by this but rather worried looking at the man in front of them .
Hearing Kurumi's words Hei looked at her as his smile slowly disappeared replaced by displeasure , apparently he was judging Kurumi ignoring Cherry standing in front of him which she did not like at all .
" You have courage , I'll grant you this however aren't you a bit .... too stupid to talk to me like that "
Said Hei when from seriousness his face turned into a silly smile .
" Just kidding , children these days are so scary ".
Says Hei looking at Kurumi's strangely distorted shadow after which he looks at his own shadow below him . Hearing his words and seeing his behavior which directly showed that he noticed that something was wrong Kurumi's eyes widened a bit however her attitude did not change and she continued to stand firm without being afraid of him .
" Well you are very talented wouldn't you be interested in working for me and my family ."
Says Hei to Kurumi and Neo without completely paying attention to Cherry who slammed her hand on the table .
" Get the fuck out of my office !"
Shouts Cherry seeing the insolent behavior of Hei who sighed and got up from his chair .
" Well unfortunately I thought I was going to meet my last contractors with the hope of handing them another " well-paid mission " ."
Said Hei pressing the word well-paying , which was to be aimed directly at Kurumi who all the time without hesitation looked straight into his eyes .
" I already told you that I will put them on the list to be done as an express."
Said Cherry annoyed by Hei as she sat down in her chair .
" Before someone receives this task and accepts it which will be a problem because of the situation . By the time someone does them and so on , it will take a month looking at the information and I don't have a month Cherry . Not to mention that no one will take this tasking as no one wants to get involved ."
Says Hei trying to play the victim of this situation .
" That's why I wanted to meet with the person who did the information gathering for me , whoever he or she was . He or she is fast and efficient in his or her job , I want him or her for this task as long as he or she does this type of work . I wanted to meet with him or her and negotiate prices , I am willing to pay a lot for this task ."
Hei says the while looking at the group standing next to him . At the time, everyone in the room knew that he was referring to them which caused Kurumi to look at Asha who looked at her with indifference as if telling her that it was her decision .
" What assignment are you talking about ? "
Asks Kurumi knowing that he will not leave until they listen to him. .
" Good that you ask " .
Says Hei as if expecting it .
" You see someone just gave me information about the grup who is selling dust to my enemies . I want to eliminate them unfortunately I don't have enough people to defend and attack that's why I need a third party . I don't care how or where I want their blood to be spilled in the streets just like the blood of my people was spilled because of the dust they sold " .
Says Hei smiling at Kurumi who remained with the same flat expression watching as the man only looked at Cherry then simply left .
" I am glad you are alive Trivia .... sorry , now I think you go with the name Neo right ?"
" And red eye, consider my proposal . I offer training , protection , money , development and much more for talents like you ."
Said Hei before completely closing the door after which the room became silent . Looking at the door Kurumi shook off her thoughts when she felt Neo's hand catch hers as if sensing her partner's hidden worry Kurumi just smiled at her .
" Well that was something "
Copper said relaxing the atmosphere. When Cherry after taking a long calming breath looked at their group .
" You guys came to give back the completed mission , collect the money and as I noticed accept the new mission ".
Said Cherry turning on the computer when her voice was clearly annoyed when she talked about the new mission.
" Sorry about that . "
Says Kurumi feeling a little out of place with the way she spoke to Mr. Hei Xiong .
" You have nothing to apologize for , I was the one who didn't check if he had left which caused this situation . You just didn't let him boss you around . "
" The only thing is I advise you to be careful not to make him angry this bastard has a good face for a bad game . He even offered you a job in his family which means you impressed him . Nevertheless be careful don't trust him for sure and never try to play his games with him again . "
Cherry said as the group approached her desk . Standing up Cherry walked to the safe behind her from which she pulled out a signed envelope .
" Payment is full because of the connection you gave us. I decided not to deduct our fee from your payment . They may not be the best but it's always one more pair of ears and eyes in town . "
Cherry says putting the envelope in front of the girls as she sits down in front of the computer again .
" Now regarding the words of this snake , do you really want to see this assignment ? "
Asks an uncertain Cherry to which Kurumi nods in the affirmative . Sighing , Cherry types something on the keyboard and then a notification comes on Ash's scroll .
"All the people in these recordings sent by you are for elimination . Confirmation in the form of photos is needed to complete the task . The assignment has no execution time however you have a maximum of a few days because Hei wants to get it over with and prolonging it will make him angry ."
Says Cherry apparently not wanting to explain every detail because she knows that the people in front of her are not fools and understand everything .
" However are you sure you want this mission , you know maybe you would wait a little and I am ...."
Cherry says with concern for the two little girls but Kurumi interrupted her before she finished .
" This is personal , one of these people is known to me ."
Says Kurumi making Cherry realize that the situation is not as easy as it looks and from the beginning it was also personal .
" Don't worry we will join them ."
Says Ash surprising everyone in the room .
" If mother finds out that we left them alone for something like this she will kill us . And I also know very well that Kurumi won't let this matter go so there is no need to convince her because she will do it herself when she has the chance ."
Says Ash before anyone says anything . Of course Kurumi nevertheless wanted to say something , deny it but after thinking it over she fell silent . Cherry also without asking personal things because it is not her business. In the end she sighed and assigned them this task .
"Good luck And take care . If anything , I'm not pulling this assignment off the board so you can always quit " .
Said Cherry with a sincere smile still gently suggesting them to withdraw from it .
" That's it ? What about the rings ?"
Asks Kurumi looking at the fact that she did not use them at all despite how Ash insisted that they take them .
" The rings can be used at the front desk if the working employee doesn't recognize you there . Then you show him the ring and he checks it and knows who you are but by the fact that Ash and Copper are with you no one asks you anything . However, it is worth having them in your pocket if you don't want to wear them on your finger."
Cherry says explaining everything to Kurumi before she and her group walk out of the office leaving a smiling Cherry alone . Seeing them leave Cherry's smile disappeared as the image from the monitor was reflected in her blue eyes .

Looking at this, Cherry's eyes move to the public photo of the Vanille family with a brown-haired and brown-eyed child, around which a red circle was drawn.

Shouts Cherry recognizing the girl from the photo . Grabbing her hair she looks at the contractors .

Looking at this Cherry pulled out a scroll and dialed the number to her trusted person . Big mama .
Pov Kurumi
Sitting in the back of the car I feel a little silly because of what happened .
'I literally stood in front of Hei Xiong . '
Thinking about it I still feel the touch of my pink mouse on my hand which she has no intention of letting go of .
" Are you sure you want to do this assignment ? This is not the same as last time here we are talking about a dozen people for elimination not to mention that you directly choose the side of the conflict . "
Asks Ash without taking his eyes off the wheel . I well understand his concern one murder at our age is no joke and such a mass murder should not even be mentioned in front of someone of our age .
However my mentality has always been different , as a child I watched dead bodies every winter and I am well aware of the world I live in so I don't feel guilty especially since we are talking about the woman who almost got me killed , I need to know what she knows . As for the conflict I'm fine as long as no one knows who did it .
" So do you already have a plan or did you just accept this assignment ?"
Asks Ash without even waiting for an answer to the previous question . Apparently he already knew my answer .
" Actually yes , we will use our old dear warehouse owner . However , for the plan to succeed we must start today " .
I say starting to explain my plan to everyone in the car. Of course not everything was finished or perfect in it but with my overall idea and Ash filling in the gaps a very simple and easy idea was created on the spot .
