Kapitel 5: Meeting Roxy Migurdia
While having there dinner tonight, Rudeus chew his food until his mouth was empty and looks at his parents.
"Mom, Dad. I found a book called 'Guide to Magic' and read it. Being fascinated in what I read, I want to pursue on becoming a magician. Can you help me learn magic?" Even if he wants to use illusion to his parents so his request will be approved without questions asked, he's not that desperate and want to respect his parents. And even if he want to, he can't since he didn't practice his illusions yet.
"Wow, Darling! I think that's a good idea. Since our son wants to be a magician, we have to support him!" Zenith, being also a magician, wants to support his son's wishes.
"But we have an agreement that if our child is a boy, he will become a swordsman like me?" Being a Father, Paul didn't want to back down since he wants to impart his learning in swords and use it to protect his loved ones.
Lilia didn't say anything in this conversation since she doesn't want to pry in there business. Although she knows that Rudy maybe trains magic in his room, she doesn't know that full details of his training because Rudy is more vigilant that I thought.
Whenever she approaches his room, the child was somehow acting strange like sitting in the floor while doing nothing. Her instinct tells her that the kid knows that he was being watched.
Rudeus however, was looking at his parents and expects that this argument will happen. Before a quarrel between his parents starts, he intervenes them immediately.
"Dad, don't worry, I also want to learn your swordsmanship. When I peek at our window, I always see you practicing your sword in our courtyard. And from the moment I see it, I realize how cool my dad was." Coming from his heart, he sincerely praise his father so he will approved my decision in learning magic.
Paul didn't expect that he will hear some compliment to his son, he couldn't help but to smile from ear to ear while tears came out from his eyes.
"Honey, did you hear that? Our son idolized me! Can you pinch my cheeks." Being a role model to there child is pride for every parents.
"Haha darling, you don't have to be overreacting. If our son wants to become a magician and a swordsman, then he might become a great magic swordsman." Clapping her hands once, Zenith declares that his son might accomplish something great as an adventurer if he becomes a magic swordsman.
"Zenith, Paul, I have a suggestion. What if Rudy learns Magic from his home tutor from Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While Paul teaches him swordsmanship from Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Then he will take a full day rest on Sunday. What do you think?" Lilia also wants to help there son even if she only contributes a little.
"Thank you, Aunt Lilia, for also supporting me in my decision. You really are the best." Rudy shows his most appreciative smile to her.
Lilia nods to him while her face are full of pink blush. What she likes about this child is he didn't treat her like a maid, but one of there members of the family.
"Now that we have a concrete plan for Rudy's future, I think I'm going to our town hall to issue a contract and find some capable magician." While clenching her right hand dramatically, Zenith was pump up and want to find a magician that can help her son become capable of magic.
After this conversation, the Greyrat family continue there happy dinner.
A few days passed by and Zenith introduces his home tutor. The magician wears some decorative magician robe with brown color and a witch hat. Her hair was a dazzling azure color that keeps her hair with two braids. She carries his long wand that has a red gem in the end.
Her pale skin, devoid of any suntan, was accompanied with tired half-opened eyes. She had a curl-looking lips that Rudy thinks it was kissable lips. For him, this girl is really beautiful in her own way.
Without a doubt, Rudy finally meets his tutor and future wife, Roxy Migurdia.
"Hello Ms. Home Tutor, My name is Rudeus Greyrat. Please take care of me." Rudy puts his right hand to his chest and slightly bow to her tutor, this gesture is how a noble introduces themselves.
"So you are my student. Madam, I think he is not yet ready. I know that you inform me that he has talent but you didn't even witness what his capable of. And he is too young to practice magic." It's not that Roxy doesn't want to teach this child, it's just that, sometimes, the parents want to dote there children even though they didn't have the qualifications in becoming a magician.
A tick mark suddenly appears in Rudy's forehead.
"Ms. Home Tutor, I know that I request my mother so I can learn magic, but please give me some chance first to demonstrate my capabilities. You never know, I might surpass you when I become a magician." Trying to trigger her competitive side, Rudy provokes her to teach him some magic.
"Hmmmp! I guess your child have some attitude. Okay, I'm going to teach you magic and maybe discipline you to respect your elders." While her chest was out, Rosy declared that she will accept his challenge and when she found out that he really doesn't have an aptitude in magic, she will stop this nonsense training herself.
"Wait, your not an elder. You are just a kid like me." Hearing this, his parents are now beading in sweats. Paul and Zenith already meet Roxy before in the town hall. They conduct an interview to her and was satisfied. Although she was one of the Migurd tribe, they didn't think about it since they are adventurer before and they know they are peaceful and they are lacking in height department.
"Now I really want to discipline you. Rudeus was it? I'm going to tell you now that I'm more older than you ever imagine. And since I'm an adult, I'm going to not mind it. Just be prepared in my lessons." Rudy was smiling inside since he already know that Roxy was really older than him, a legal loli to be exact.
Since Roxy accepted her job as a tutor, Zenith tells her how much her salary and the Greyrats will also cover her food and she will live in the house so Roxy can observe and teach there son attentively.
*sigh* 'Our very first meeting are quite intense, she really underestimate me huh? Can't argue with that, but I will show you Roxy that I'm more capable than what you imagine.' He declared to himself that he will meet Roxy's expectations.
