Dedicated to all those that helped me through this, whatever it might have been. You are worth everything to me.
☥Everything and Nothing☥
She asked me what she meant to me,
And in my dreams came the response.
I told her she was everything and nothing,
Something important to me yet also something small in my life.
She just tilted her head in question,
And I said it was true,
It wasn't a lie.
He came to late one night,
And we danced under the stars.
As he kissed my lips and caressed my cheeks,
He asked me what mattered to me.
And I told him it was everything and nothing,
That each day was a new thing,
And that today was his day.
His eyes lit up,
Puzzled,
He asked me why.
And I said,
Everything and nothing is my life.
I am everything to you,
Nothing to myself.
I would give everything to you,
To the world,
And gain nothing in return.
That is the cycle of my life.
My mother in the heavens above looked down at me to ask me a question,
She said to me in the sweetest voice,
Why aren't you doing what matters most to you?
And my response was to her,
My dreams of the future mean everything to me,
But they're nothing to what I could become.
Your dream was your everything,
And when you left, I became nothing.
So your dream came to me,
And now I want to be this,
Just for you, mom.
Your dream shall come a reality,
You shall live it through me.
Because of this,
I also said,
Everything and nothing is my life.
I am everything to you,
Nothing to myself.
I would give everything for you,
To the world,
And gain nothing in return.
That is the cycle of my life.
My sister held her hand out to me,
And as I refused she asked me why.
I told her my fate was set,
Everything and nothing.
Each morning as I wake,
The day resets.
My mind is made up,
Everything and nothing decided each night as I sleep.
And in my dreams,
The dreams of all my friends and family,
I can hear myself scream to them.
And what I said,
Everything and nothing is my life.
I am everything with you,
Nothing by myself.
I would give everything to you,
And the world,
Never to gain nothing in return.
That is the cycle of my life.
I love you all,
But this is my life.
Everything and nothing,
Broken and repaired,
Clinging to reality as much as fantasy.
You are my everything and nothing,
Forever with me in my heart,
Forever by my side...
My family they surrounded me,
Giving their support.
But I refused,
Taking the long way home.
I went through the forest,
Making my own trail.
Each footstep was a new journey of its own,
The crunch of fallen leaves and branches creating a new me.
And as midnight struck,
I found a clearing where the full moon showed.
And I looked up, raising my arms to the sky.
Whispering to the moon and the skies,
And I said,
Everything and nothing is my life.
I am everything to you,
Nothing to myself.
I would give everything to you,
To the world,
And gain nothing in return.
That is the cycle of my life.
I serve you and the stars,
The God in the sky.
I serve everyone but myself,
As I must redeem my past.
And as I sat there,
I heard a voice whisper to me.
He asked me why I tried so hard to please them,
When I should try to please myself and not suffer.
He told me my past was the past,
And that I had redeemed my heart long ago.
For once,
I was speechless.
Was this the voice of God?
He appeared before me,
In the form of an angel surrounded in a bright light.
His hand reached out to me, and I took it firmly.
That's when he showed me of all the good I'd done by being myself.
And he said to me,
Everything and nothing is not your life.
You are everything to me,
Everything to yourself.
I would give everything for you,
To the children just like you,
And then they would gain Love in return.
That is the cycle of true life.
You are not alone in this journey,
My child.
When the time comes,
My gates will be open for you and those that follow.
Never doubt,
Never cry the tears of fear.
Never waiver,
Fight for your life.
I shall always be there,
Even if I cannot be seen.
Don't be afraid to be yourself,
Because being yourself is alright.
No one's perfect,
No one knows what perfection really is.
In my eyes, you are perfect the way you are,
Just like every other person.
We all have flaws,
That's what makes you,
Well- you.
Though I had said,
Everything and nothing is my life.
I am everything to you,
Nothing to myself.
I would give everything to you,
To the world,
And gain nothing in return.
That is the cycle of my life.
I now know that isn't true.
I am everything I want to be,
Everything in the eyes of the Lord.
I am not a nothing,
I am a someone!
Yes, I would give everything,
But wouldn't everyone do that for God?
The world belongs to everyone,
Not just me.
I once thought I had gained nothing,
But in truth, I gained everything.
God told me the truth,
He saved me from my past.
He helped me find true love,
Deep within myself.
I remember those days when I was lost,
But I'm lost no more.
Now with God by my side,
I can help those just like how I was back then.
I will guide them back to the light,
Tell them God loves them for who they are.
They are not everything and nothing-
They are everything they see!
God loves us all,
Now all we need to do is remember,
Then forgive ourselves.
