Chapter 41: Splitting up

Betty and Diana walked slowly. The path taken was quiet, they can't tell why but it looked weird. No zombies around and no sound as well. They wondered what was happening.

Betty knew she should be happy about it because they won't need to fight zombies for the main time but something inside was disturbing her so much, that she felt something was amiss. What could have happened? Why were there no zombies?

"Are you sure of this?" Diana asked, her eyes fixed fully on Betty.

Betty halted to meet Diana's gaze. " I think something is wrong."

"Meaning?"

"Everywhere is too quiet."

Diana glanced around. " Thought this is a good thing. Why should we be bothered."

"It is but, it's strange," Betty spoke. "how come this path is so empty?"

Diana just stared at nothing in particular.

" Maybe, "Betty broke off due to the footsteps sounds she heard ahead somewhere around the corridor.

" What is that?" Diana asked and her eyes went wide with fear.
