Chapter 28: Save the boy or not!

"It's incompatible," Marcus said with defeat.

Gaius looked at him with a reassuring smile," We can do this. I know we can. It just seems like we are missing an ingredient."

Mercury moved nearer with a book in her hands. She stopped before them and looked up at Gaius, "The cells are fluctuating sir," her face shows the confusion in her head.

Gaius took the book from her and perused it. Then he looks up at nothing in particular, "That's the one thing we have been missing all this while."

Screams erupted from the room close by, suddenly startling them for a while.

"What's that?" Mercury was the first to talk.

Awareness hit Marcus," Could it be the undead?"

Gaius took the hospital knife immediately. Marcus went for the emergency ax. Just when they were about to enter the room, one of the guards Jake left behind walked in. He looked so tattered and there was blood all over him.

"What happened?" Mercury asked with curiosity.
