Only a knock at the door was enough to set the fear that had disappeared back in him again. He paused, the green screen still on his face and blocking his view as he turned to look at the door.
"What the hell is this? How can I get this off my face?"
Just when he asked himself, the screen disappeared. Realising that, Harry blinked again and that screen didn't appear. "That didn't happen, did it? I mean the whole screen issue. I'm not wearing a VR headset or something." He tried telling himself that it was only a hallucination.
There was another bang at the door and it increased further.
Harry looked around, trying to look for an object he could use to hit the male student and escape from here back to his classroom. If he had known, he wouldn't have evacuated from his classroom. He naturally did this because he was indirectly told to do this by his female seat partner Gabrielle who he had a crush on.
"Stupid!" He hit his forehead with his palm and his eyes went back to the door again. And continuously watching it, he saw the door shake vigorously as the intensity of the bang of the door increased.
"Who the hell is he? Don't tell me he is going to break the door and come for me?"
"Shit! What should I do? Zadkiel? Where the hell did I keep that phone?" He asked himself. He checked his pocket but was unable to see it.
Zadkiel was the only person he could speak with. Zadkiel was the most brilliant one and also naturally had a positive energy that he was comfortable with. But then, having a friend like him always causes him depression when he remembers that this friend of his is far better than him in academics.
Bang
Bang
Harry decided to hide but then he thought against it. There was no particular place to hide because that stupid boy was going to find him.
Harry thought for a moment and recalled the boys that he had seen outside the compound acting like zombies. He was definitely one of them, however, their acting shouldn't be as real as that! That boy certainly looked like he was going to kill him.
"He is a zombie?" He shook his head and laughed. "Wait... don't you tell me that he is actually a zombie? What the hell is a zombie doing here jn a real world? This must be a dream or something!" Harry was sure of that.
However, as he sank further in his thoughts and recalled the stupid thing he had seen on the green screen, he tried putting everything together but he still couldn't.
Bang
The door broke down and Harry's eyes widened as he saw the male student's completely brown eyes.
"Wait...is that not my senior? Gideon!"
"Gideon? Are...are you okay?" Harry asked the boy who now walked into the amenity where Harry thought he could hide in.
When Harry saw that this boy couldn't respond to him, he decided to look everywhere again if he could see any object to use but Gideon walked slowly and then stood some metres from him. Seeing this, Harry tried to use his magic to push him away.
Harry pointed at him as he walked backwards and ensured that he was a distinct distance apart from him. "Don't come any closer!" He warned. "You are a zombie!" Harry finally agreed to his reality. Although he was dumb, with all those that he had seen, there was no way he could start telling himself things to wash away the reality. He needed to kill this senior, no...zombie in front of him and inform his teacher about it.
That was because he knew if he told Mr. Donaldson, he would definitely inform the other teachers who could be in their classrooms and definitely try to protect the students. That was because as an older brother, that was the only thing he could do.
Protect his younger sister.
However, after chanting his spell, nothing happened. His spell didn't work.
He tried doing it again as he approached the entrance so that he could stylishly escape but then, he thought running away again would definitely lead this zombie to him again. So he decided to kill the zombie and end this running and chasing game.

Harry frowned and just as the zombie approached him, he decided to give him a blow in the jaw but as he walked further to do that, he saw that he became slow.
[You have gained +10 torpidity.]
Beep
[You can view your status bar after leaving the room.]
The green screen disappeared but Harry noticed that this zombie in front of him only looked at him and didn't approach him anymore. The zombie looked away from him and as if disappointed, it headed to the entrance which Harry was once there.
"What the hell just happened? This zombie wanted to attack me before!"
Harry blinked when he recalled something.
Race? Undead?
He was bitten by this zombie previously...wait....did that mean he was one of them?
Was that the reason why he was slow and the reason the zombie didn't attack him?
He shook his head slowly, "This is not true."
Not wanting the zombie to surf around the corridors of the building, he decided to kill him if he could.
Harry walked outside and saw the zombie walking slowly and shaking its head as it did.
After a while, some metres away from the staircase, Harry tried attacking. He grabbed the zombie by its neck and then punched it in the face. It was quick and since the zombie was slow, it was easy. Naturally, he was fast and his speed had only lessened a little which could be termed as the normal speed for an average male.
However, the zombie didn't seem affected by the blow, instead, it punched Harry in his stomach. Harry grunted because he wasn't expecting such force.
Harry in return accumulated all the strength he could and pushed the zombie towards the staircase, with this, the zombie fell through the steps and ended up flat on the floor. He immediately climbed down the staircase and then checked the zombie. It was unconscious.
Harry knelt down and then punched it on its face while hitting its head on the floor multiple times. After a moment, brown blood bursted out from its head. "Did I just kill Gideon?" He asked himself but he didn't want to delay. He left the zombie and climbed up the stairs back, heading to his classroom.
After a few minutes, he stood at the entrance of his classroom and was surprised when he saw different newspapers on the windows. He was unable to see the students and Mr. Donaldson.
"Could something have happened?"
He knocked on the door.
On the other hand, Mr. Donaldson had taught the chosen students magic and they were able to easily memorise the spells while the non chosen ones were fuming in their seats.
"I think it's Harry!" Zadkiel called the attention of everyone in the classroom as they all heard random knocks on the door. Everyone looked at the class president who was a handsome, tall blondie.
Instead of sending a student to check, Mr. Donaldson walked to the door. He was the only one who could at least fight if it was a zombie knocking. The students still hadn't believed him when he talked about the Zombie apocalypse.
He slowly opened the door and Harry showed up.
Harry walked in slowly while everyone's gaze was on him, wondering why the boy who exhausted no time in doing something was taking his time to walk to his seat.
Harry sat down in his seat and then, his eyes widened when he saw what was written on the board. HOW TO SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.
He looked at the girl by his side and asked, "What is the topic about?"
Harry wasn't expecting Gabrielle to reply to him. She only replied if she wanted to.
She replied, "Why not ask Mr. Donaldson yourself? However, why are you back? I thought you didn't have any interest in magic. We are still not done with this class."
"I changed my mind," Harry looked at her but then a green screen appeared in front of him.

[System advice:
Make your seat partner the first victim and gain ten extra status points]
"What?" Harry exclaimed. "Bite Gabrielle?"
Gabrielle turned around and stared at him, "Is there any problem?"
"No," he replied and sat properly, staring at the board instead and then he saw Zadkiel and some other students sitting in the front seat.
Harry noticed that it wasn't Zadkiel's seat then he noticed that all those who sat in the front were the first ten toppers and Mr. Donaldson was writing a spell on the board just for them.
Wow…it was the "heating spell."
This kind of spell, if said properly, increases the temperature around the victim until he dies of suffocation.
Harry had tried the spell once but it was to dry his cloth which unfortunately burnt in response.
"Then why are you acting weird?" Gabrielle asked him. Nevertheless, she leaned towards him which Harry wasn't expecting, "Do you also believe the zombies exist and that Mr. Donaldson actually isn't joking around by doing all nonsense?"
Harry cleared his throat after suddenly feeling a lump. He then replied, "I think we shouldn't believe what we haven't seen."
"Right!" Gabrielle exclaimed and drew back, jotting down the spells and wondering if she could memorise it just like the toppers did.
"You don't call out each word with such speed," Harry told her when he noticed how she was reciting the spell.
"I thought you weren't interested? Did you go out and do something to increase your enthusiasm?"
"Absolutely, no. Don't worry," Harry replied.
But then, he was shocked when the deafening beep came again displaying something formidable.
Beep
[Failure To Fulfill The Quest shall include an increase of 15 points in Torpidity.]
"What?" Harry asked himself. Only the increase of 10 points made him this slow, then what would become of him with the addiction of 15 more points to Torpidity?
"Wait...am I really a zombie?"
