Chapter 48: Impactful
~August 21, 2021, Lo's House~
(2 months after 0 broke out & the two drones were assumed to be deactivated, a national warning calls for everyone to take cover as the military plans to nuke the castle. Lo, Kel, Maya, Nasa-kun & Bo all stayed at Lo's house instead of the bunker SMG4 reserved.)
SMG4: Are you sure you can't join us in the bunker?
Lo: Of course. We can just hide in the basement until the smoke's cleared.
Kel: There is nothing for you to worry about now, other than stocking enough spaghetti to keep Mario from getting out.
SMG4: Oh, you're right. See ya.
(As SMG4 left, the parents then gazed onto the castle, where 0's USB resides)
~2 minutes before detonation~
Nasa-kun: Mommy, are the big men going to blow up the castle?
Kel: I don't know, but Mommy does know that we'll be here. Safe and sound.
Lo: (notices something) Excuse me, but I had forgotten something upstairs.
Kel: Are you serious? We already had the essentials here & there's under a minute left.
Lo: But it looks like we've forgotten some toilet paper.
Maya: That seems fair enough.
(As Lo heads up the stairs, Bo notices something)
Bo: Wait, aren't the TP already here nearby?
Maya: Come to think of it, why doesn't Lo notice?
Kel: Oh no.
(As Kel went up the stairs, she sees Lo standing on a table, & used his power to fly off)
Kel: Lo, wait!
(But then, the nuke went off, emitting a massive light from the house. Kel then covers her eyes and ears, as a deafening blast hits the house. A few seconds after, she opens her eyes & notices that he's gone)
Bo: Kel, you alright?
Kel: I'm fine. I was just wondering where my husband had gone.
KP: (rose nearby) I know where he is.
Maya, being shocked: geh! King Pipe, it's been a while. But where was he going?
KP: Oh, I'm not sure. Judging by the direction he's flying into, it appears he's heading to the Dark Web.
Kel: What type of business should he be doing right there?
Bo: (remembers something) I know.
~0's Lair Entrance~
(As Lo lands from the area, he looks at the area, only to see a pipe coming out from the ground)
Lo: (regains consciousness) Wait, where am I?
Kel: (comes out of the pipe & hugs him) Oh, thank goodness you're safe.
Lo: Honey, what are you doing here? & who's watching our child?
Bo: (comes out of the pipe along with Maya) I had King Pipe watch over him. He knows a thing or two about children.
Maya: Lo, this place is dangerous. We should get out of here.
Lo: (begins to hear something) I don't know, but something says we should come in here. Trust me.
(The women then looked at each other, & decided to follow Lo to the altar)
SMG4, nervously: A-Axol, you're hurting me!
Axol?: perfect!
~Altar~
Kel: Lo, can you please stop? I feel like something bad's going on.
Lo: No, I can feel it. What was calling is right behind this-
(He then stops in complete confusion as the gang witnesses SMG3's pod opening & sucking SMG4, Mario & SMG3 in)
Maya: Mario!
(That's when Axol turns around, only to find his face disfigured)
Bo: Oh god, that complexion does not suit you.
Axol?: (sees Maya & Kel) You two. How did you come here?
Kel: We were trying to ask the same thing you. It's just that Lo had come here-
Axol?: Wait, what did you just say?
Lo: Are you what led me here?
(Axol? then takes a look, then gets closer to Lo)
Lo: I'm getting mixed feelings about this...
Axol?: Lo, is that you?
Lo: I don't assume that Axol's talking right now...
Axol?: Lo, it's me. Your father 0.
(By a moment, Lo starts to feel even more uneven. Considering that his father's one of the victims back then, it's hard to believe that he's even alive)
Lo: That can't be true. He fell alongside his universe from back then.
Ax0l: Yes, our universe had indeed been wrecked, but I clawed my way back. I sacrificed a lot of time & effort, all just to bring the family back. (Sees Bo) You understand, right Bo? (Sees that Bo's also terrified, given that it isn't the man whom she married a long time ago)
Time & time again, I spent days wishing we could be together. I lost more than I can chew, all just to hear your voice again. & all I got was just pure silence? Well then...
(He then grabs Bo & went to the giant stained glass at the front)
Kel: Bo!
Ax0l: I will make you remember, & we will be a happy family once more! (Hops off)
Lo, being shocked: I just didn't believe it.
