Chapter 5: Cephalopods
???????: This Axol guy... & his Inkweaver of his. Oh, I wanted my hands on this technology. But how can I achieve such a thing?
(The hidden figure then glances at his feet, which glow a faint red light near a sewer grate. He then looks at the grate to find an ominous figure in the dark)
????: I believe I had a plan for your "service". But you need to help me in return. In such a small fee, of course.
???????: Go on.
????: All I need is your army, & the coordinates to a place I'll be fond of.

(The energy was livid throughout the arena. Crowds had flocked to see the start of yet another Splatfest. Lo & Zel took the front seat, as the opening match will have to be Team Splatsquad & the OctoPosse. However, the two were not alone, as Zel's parents, the landlord King Pipe, & even Maya joined in)
Maya: (looks around) Wow, this place sure is intense.
Zel: You OK with this, neighbor?
Maya: Are you kidding? As long as you make your friends happy, it is fine by me.
Lo: True to that.
(The competition makes its start by revealing the two teams, but the five get a bit dumbfounded once they realize that Meggy... is not Meggy. But rather, a Garo with some poorly placed Inkling hair)
Bob: (poses a bit) M@ke 5ure U ge+ my G00d S1DE!
KP: (to Zel) That "Meggy" of yours... she looks a bit ugly to me.
(The match has been a slight disappointment as Bob doesn't try much to be like Meggy, & it wasn't even fooling the audience either. It soon led to the Octoposse leading 7/3. As for Lo & Zel, they needed answers. and fast)
SMG4: Guys, we've searched all over the arena &...
Boopkins: (cries) We can't find Meggy!
Lo: Meggy's missing?
Tari: Lo, Zel. This is kinda hard to explain.
Zel: If by anything, there was something wrong with her, & we need to get to the bottom of this.
(This soon led to the gang finding leads to where Meggy went. But at the same time, strange disappearances throughout Inkopolis had flooded the media far beyond Splatfest, which got canceled in a huff out of everyone's safety. The next thing Lo & Zel knew was that they were in a boat, going straight to a newly discovered Anime Island)
Zel: (on the phone) Are you sure about this?
Senko: Of course. You just wanted to help out with your friends, & I talked to your father about being cool with it. Just go on ahead & save Meggy. We will take care of the fort from here. Isn't it right, Maya?
Maya: (takes the phone) Make sure you don't die, ok? You have to give back my ice cooler to the troopers.
Zel: I can count on that. See ya. (hangs up & looks on Lo) Seems like we're in the clear.
Lo: I guess. (looks at Desti, who is staring at the horizon) Do you think it's ok to talk to her? For old times' sake.
Zel: Well, it should be fine.
(Lo then walks onto Desti, the leader of the Octoposse, who was thinking about what could happen to her rival for disappearing all of a sudden)
Lo: You ok there?
Desti: (to Lo) Hey blondie. Didn't expect you to be with Red & the others.
Lo: Listen, about Meggy... Do you know what it's like to suddenly have one of your comrades be in trouble?
Desti: It just hardly crosses my mind. We Octoposse live in a tight octo brotherhood like never before. That was kind of the same thing you felt for Meggy & her team, right?
Lo: (thinks around a bit) Listen, I may not be an official member of the Splatsquad, but I do know that Meggy will do ANYTHING for her friends. Especially if it's facing against some battles that were doomed in failure.
Desti: Heh, guess you're not so bad, blondie.
Lo: I know.
(The rest of the gang has gotten to a bit more pitfalls, from the abduction of Desti to a sudden kaiju attack. It has led the gang to the throes of battle, & for Lo & Zel, through the vents)
Lo: Why do we get talked into this?
Zel: Look, it should be simple. Sneak our way to where Meggy's hidden, break her out, & escape unattended.
Lo: (listens to some screaming & sounds of a katana through the walls) Well, I could've chosen a better path than all this chaos outside.
(The two dropped down at the main chamber, where Meggy has been held captive)
Meggy: (sees Lo & Zel) Blondie?
Lo: (to Meggy) Oh thank goodness, you're alright! Don't you worry! We'll get you out of here in no time!
Meggy: Well better make it fast. I'm not sure how long Desti & Axol can hold off Francis.
Francis: (enters back to the main chamber) YOU CAN'T STOP ME! (sees Lo & Zel) What are you two rats doing here? (snaps his fingers, which forces Sephiroth to stop & thrust Desti to the other side of the wall, leading the Inkweaver back to Francis) Exterminate them!
(As Sephiroth dashes to Lo, he hastily dashes off, reuniting with Zel for a moment)
Zel: (to Meggy in an upset manner) Speak of the devil.
(The gang holds on a bit further until Tari throws something to Sephiroth, a small distraction that was claimed as a secret weapon)
Francis: W-WHAT IS THAT!? A GRENADE? A CREATURE?!!!!
(A rubber duck lands near the two as they're left dumbfounded)
Francis: What?
Desti: Get over here! (grabs Sephiroth & tosses him) Batter up!
(The gang unleashes a chain combo on the Sephiroth & makes it enough to disappear. The gang celebrates their victory, but for Lo, something is off. That was when he gazes at Francis, who was sporting a sinister grin behind his book. & with the Inkweaver in his hand, that can only mean one thing)
Lo: DON'T JUST STAND THERE, GET THE-
(But a loud slash echoes through the room. The gang stopped in fear & looked in horror. Lo felt a bit afraid to look, but he made a glance at his left arm and)
Lo: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
(Everyone is shocked to find that Lo's left arm is cut off, & as Zel tries to stop the bleeding, the false Sephiroth gets its eyes set on the two)
Francis: You bakas, did you forget about me and my pen? (to Sephiroth) Finish them.
(The false Sephiroth charges to the two)
Zel: DON'T YOU DARE!
(Another stab has been heard, but Lo & Zel did not feel the metal blade that was pierced through. But they looked forward & saw that Desti took the hit, straight to the gut)
Meggy: no... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Desti: (struggles as she grabs Sephiroth's blade) Do you think you break one more spirit? Well, tough luck, mister. (Hoists the sword off of him & pulls it off from her gut. Her body was shaking hard, but she gave out all of her strength to stab Sephiroth back. The fake killer then vanishes, but not his blade, as it is still in her hands. She then looks at the two as tears start coming out of her eyes) It kind of sucks being like me now, isn't it?

Electric_Logan This would be more accurate to say that Desti sacrificed herself in the other Meggy episode, don't you agree?
Also, sorry if it's rushed, it's just that I like to jump through the chaos even if it's a cost of the placing.
Plus, who was that figure that helped Franics? Guess we'll wait & see.
