Chapter 5: CH 3: Outnumbered, But Outclassing P1

(A/N: Funny thing about writing Meta combos like this is that I literally need to write a short list of combos going on in my phone's notes lol.)

Alistair :"You know, I think necromancers should be buff as hell instead of lanky skeletons."

Zane :"Why?"

Alistair, Leonardo DiCaprio smug face :"Because they do a lot of... deadlifting."

Zane didn't look impressed.

--------------------------

[Alistair Aliyev LP: 4,000

Taiyou Torimaki LP: 4,000

Raizou Mototani LP: 4,000]

[Turn 1: Alistair]

"I'll go first!" Said Alistair, before smirking sadistically at his hand :"And I guess this duel's as good as over. First things first, I draw, then I normal summon Keeper of Dragon Magic in attack mode!"

[Keeper of Dragon Magic: Dragon/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 4/ 1,800 ATK/ 1,300 Def

Effect(s): If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can discard 1 card; add 1 "Polymerization" Normal Spell or "Fusion" Normal Spell from your Deck to your hand. You can reveal 1 Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck; Special Summon 1 of the Fusion Materials whose name is specifically listed on that monster from your GY, in face-down Defense Position. You can only use each effect of "Keeper of Dragon Magic" once per turn.

You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate either of this card's effects.]

Once summoned, Keeper of Dragon Magic wearing his sleek armor and holding a spear appeared before Alistair. His weapon ready to strike at Alistair's command.

"Whoa..." Looking at the hologram of his monster come to life, Alistair took a moment to marvel at it. It was the dream of every Yu-Gi-Oh player to see their cards come to life in their duels, so why wouldn't he be amazed at that dream becoming reality?

"Oh, wow, that's a lot of ATK for a Lv 4 monster." Jade awed, but the glass lackey wasn't so excited :"1,800 ATK points?!"

Back from his trance, Alistair smirked :"If you're shocked by his ATK, then you're gonna love his effect! When Keeper of Dragon Magic is summoned, I can discard one card from my hand to add a Polymerization or Fusion normal spell card from my deck to my hand.

So by discarding Despian Tragedy, I'll add Fusion Deployment to my hand! But that's not all. You see, when Despian Tragedy is sent to the graveyard or banished because of an effect, he lets me add one Despia monster from my deck to my hand! And I'll choose Guiding Quem, the Virtuous! Don't be mistaken by the name, this card is always treated as a Despia monster! Now, Keeper of Dragon Magic, do your thing!"

Twirling his spear, Keeper of Dragon Magic gripped it firmly before stabbing it into the ground with a roar. Causing Alistair's cards to shine before he sent one to the graveyard.

[Despian Tragedy: Fairy/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 1/ 400 ATK/ 400 Def

Effect(s): If this card is sent to the GY, or banished, by a card effect: You can add 1 "Despia" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Despian Tragedy". You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap in your GY; Set it to your field. You can only use 1 "Despian Tragedy" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

-

Fusion Deployment: Normal Spell

Effect(s): Reveal 1 Fusion Monster in your Extra Deck and Special Summon, from your hand or Deck, 1 of the Fusion Materials whose name is specifically listed on that card, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Fusion Deployment" per turn.

-

Guiding Quem, the Virtuous: Spellcaster/ Effect/ (Tuner)/ Light/ Lv 4/ 1,500 ATK/ 1,500 Def

Effect(s): (This card is always treated as a "Dogmatika" and "Despia" card.) If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Fallen of Albaz", or 1 card that mentions it, from your Deck to the GY. If a card(s) leaves the Extra Deck (except during the Damage Step): You can target 1 "Fallen of Albaz", or 1 monster that mentions it, in your GY, except "Guiding Quem, the Virtuous"; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Guiding Quem, the Virtuous" once per turn.]

(A/N: If a card text is in () like Quem's Tuner, that means that it exists in the original, but doesn't because the concept doesn't exist in this era. It will be used for other forms of summonings.)

"Then I activate the effect of the card I just drew, Albion the Shrouded Dragon! By sending one Branded spell or trap card from my hand or deck to my graveyard, I can place this card at the bottom of my deck to draw another card. And I'll be sending Branded Retribution."

'Called by the Grave, nice. I don't think I'll be needing this fella much in this era though, hahahaha.' He smiled in nostalgia. It was ironic how one of the cards he used all the time was going to be needed so much less.

[Called by the Grave: Quick-Play Spell

Effect(s): Target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; banish it, and if you do, until the end of the next turn, its effects are negated, as well as the activated effects and effects on the field of monsters with the same original name.]

Adding the drawn card to his hand, he held up another card :"Then I'll activate The Bystial Lubellion's effect from my hand! By sending it from my hand to the graveyard, I can add another Bystial monster from my deck to my hand! And that'll be Bystial Saronir!"

[The Bystial Lubellion: Dragon/ Effect/ Light/ Lv 8/ 2,500 ATK/ 3,000 Def

Effect(s): Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand or GY) by Tributing 1 Level 6 or higher DARK Dragon monster. You can only Special Summon "The Bystial Lubellion" once per turn this way. You can only use each of the following effects of "The Bystial Lubellion" once per turn. You can send this card from your hand to the GY; add 1 "Bystial" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "The Bystial Lubellion". During your Main Phase: You can place 1 "Branded" Continuous Spell/Trap from your Deck face-up on your field.

-

Bystial Saronir: Dragon/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 6/ 2,500 ATK/ 2,000 Def

Effect(s): You can target 1 LIGHT or DARK monster in either GY; banish it, and if you do, Special Summon this card from your hand.

This is a Quick Effect if your opponent controls a monster. If this card is sent to the GY: You can send 1 "Bystial" monster or 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck to the GY, except "Bystial Saronir". You can only use each effect of "Bystial Saronir" once per turn.]

"But he won't be staying for long, cause I'm activating Branded Opening! By discarding him, I can special summon one Despia monster in defense mode! So come forth, my good old buddy, Aluber the Jester of Despia!"

[Branded Opening: Quick-Play Spell

Effect(s): Discard 1 card, then take 1 "Despia" monster from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or Special Summon it in Defense Position, also for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters. If a Fusion Monster(s) you control would be destroyed by card effect, you can banish this card from your GY instead. You can only use each effect of "Branded Opening" once per turn.

-

Aluber the Jester of Despia: Fairy/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 4/ 1,800 ATK/ 0 Def

Effect(s): If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. If a face-up Fusion Monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle, or leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect, while this card is in your GY: You can target 1 Effect Monster your opponent controls; Special Summon this card, and if you do, negate the targeted monster's effects until the end of this turn. You can only use 1 "Aluber the Jester of Despia" effect per turn, and only once that turn.]

"But just summoning extra bodies isn't my goal. You see, when Aluber is summoned, he lets me add one Branded spell or trap card from my deck to my hand, while Bystial Saronir, when sent to the graveyard, will let me send one Bystial monster or Branded spell or trap card from my deck to my graveyard.

So with Aluber's effect, I'll add Branded Banishment to my hand, and send Branded Fusion to the graveyard with Bystial Saronir's effect!"

[Branded Banishment: Normal Trap

Effect(s): Target 1 "Despia" monster or 1 Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster in your GY; Special Summon it, then you can apply the following effect.

● Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from either field.

You can only activate 1 "Branded Banishment" per turn.

-

Branded Fusion: Normal Spell

Effect(s): Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that mentions "Fallen of Albaz" as material from your Extra Deck, using 2 monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Material. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck, except Fusion Monsters, the turn you activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Branded Fusion" per turn.]

"But wait, there's more!" He snickered smugly, making Jade chuckle awkwardly :"You're still going? It's, like, what, 5 or 6 moves already?"

Alistair smirked smugly at her :"Jade, I have around 10 more moves to make before being done, sweetheart. And you'll see exactly why, because I'll be setting a new record for how many monsters were summoned in a single turn!

Now, where were we? Right, remember Fusion Deployment that I got with Keeper of Dragon Magic's effect? Well, I'll be activating it now! It goes like this. I'll reveal one fusion monster to you, then I can special summon one of its fusion materials that is specifically listed!

So by revealing Granguignol the Dusk Dragon, I'll be special summoning Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous! Say hello to one of the strongest monsters you've ever seen in terms of effect!"

[Granguignol the Dusk Dragon: Spellcaster/ Fusion/ Effect/ Light/ Lv 8/ 2,500 ATK/ 2,500 Def

Fusion Materials: "Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous" + 1 LIGHT or DARK monster

Effect(s): If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can send 1 Level 6 or higher LIGHT or DARK monster from your Deck or Extra Deck to the GY. If a monster is Special Summoned by your opponent's activated monster effect (except during the Damage Step): You can banish this card from your field or GY; Special Summon 1 "Dogmatika" monster from your Deck or 1 "Despia" monster from your Extra Deck. You can only use each effect of "Granguignol the Dusk Dragon" once per turn.

-

Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous: Spellcaster/ Effect/ Tuner/ Light/ Lv 4/ 1,500 ATK/ 1,500 Def

Effect(s): If you control "Fallen of Albaz" or it is in your GY: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.During the Main Phase (Quick Effect): You can Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or higher Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Material. During the End Phase, if a Fusion Monster(s) was sent to your GY this turn: You can add this card from the GY to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Blazing Cartesia, the Virtuous" once per turn.]

A demonic light, yet with a holy aura, rose from Alistair's field, before a Blazing Cartesia, clad in a red dress and wearing a cold expression, appeared while holding her sword.

"As to what I meant, why don't I show it to you?" Alistair grinned :"You see, once per turn, Cartesia can act like a Polymerization to fusion summon by fusion monsters from my hand or field! Best part is, I can use this effect even in my opponent's turn, due to it being a Quick Effect."

"What?! Even on the opponent's turn?!"

"He's right, that is the strongest effect I've ever seen!"

"Geez, his monsters are too strong, aren't they? I've never seen any of them!"

"Whoa, what kind of an effect is that?!" Jade stared in shock :"That's one hell of an effect! Fusion summoning even on either player's turn, now that's just busted! Don't you think so, Sy?"

Syrus beside her nodded, genuinely surprised :"Yeah, that's one hell of a special ability! You're right, he does have a reason to be so confident if he has cards like that!"

"And without further ado, let me show you that effect!" Alistair snapped his fingers :"With Cartesia's effect, I'll fuse her and my Aluber the Jester of Despia, to bring out what I had revealed just now! Come on out, Granguignol the Dusk Dragon!"

With a mighty roar, a demonic light illuminated the field, before Granguignol unfolded his mirror-like blue and red wings. His brawn scales looking indestructible as his red claws slammed harshly onto the ground. Alongside him, Cartesia appeared once again, commanding the dragon.

"But the best part isn't his raw power, but his effect." Alistair's smirk turned psychotic, giving everybody chills, and Crowler felt like he was going to pass out after recognizing the patterns :"When Dusk Dragon is fusion summoned, I can send one Lv 6 light of dark monster from my deck or fusion deck to the graveyard! And I'll be sending this motherfucker, Gimmick Puppet Nightmare!"

[Gimmick Puppet Nightmare: Machine/ Effect/ Dark/ Lv 8/ 1,000 ATK/ 2,000 Def

Effect(s): You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control. You can only Special Summon "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare" once per turn this way. When you do: You can Special Summon 1 "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare" from your hand or Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned, you cannot Special Summon any monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Gimmick Puppet" monsters.]

(A/N: Question, should I write the duels like this, where the cards' details are written completely, or just have Alistair explain them when it's needed? Because this takes word count, alright? Every Branded card basically has around 100 words or more.)
