Chapter 34: Punishment 3

<p>(Regina's POV.) <br/><br/>I could barely believe his ridiculous offer, and I could see the glint in his eyes as he stared at me in anticipation. Was he really going to insist on cooking for him? It was absurd because I never thought of an event like this, neither did I intend to end up in his room, among every room in this mansion, why his? <br/><br/>I wondered, but he raised his perfectly shaped brow as if he could read my thoughts. But I know quite well that he was just getting impatient, which pissed me off a little because he was practically forcing me, which he rather disguised as punishment.<br/><br/>I scoffed as I stood up from the bed reluctantly while he smiled faintly, which was gone within the seconds. I didn't bother myself with that and immediately walked out while heading for the kitchen. <br/><br/>Upon stepping out, I stumbled upon the maid, whose gaze instantly ran down on me when she noticed I was coming from his room's direction. I gulped, feeling her intense gaze on me.<br/><br/>I raised my chin and took a step closer to her. "Good day, please can you show me the way to the kitchen?" I asked politely with the hope that she wouldn't try to inquire why and thankfully and surprisingly, she nodded and turned around.<br/><br/>Wait, was she going to take me there? I found this unbelievable, especially with the fact that she wasn't curious to know why I wanted to go to the kitchen. Or maybe she was but didn't want to show it for some unknown reason and though I was pleased, I was equally curious to know why she acted nonchalant about it instead of throwing expected questions at me.<br/><br/>I got to the kitchen and my jaw tried its best to remain in the same position even though my eyes widened in surprise. I was not expecting the kitchen to be this spacious and luxurious, but if his room could be that luxurious, then I shouldn't be expecting less because even my room was beyond my expectations. <br/><br/>Although I never admitted it, it was. Just how rich was this family? Because I was having a hard time trying to comprehend it.<br/><br/>"This is the kitchen, I'll leave you be then," she said before walking away without waiting for me to respond.<br/><br/>Now that made me nervous because I was the only one in this spacious kitchen with kitchen utensils that I still didn't know how to use properly. <br/><br/>I walked around the kitchen in admiration before getting to business. I looked for a pot and then checked the refrigerator for anything edible, and was greatly pleased to see food in the refrigerator. <br/><br/>I grabbed whatever I found likable and what I'd love to eat, completely forgetting the part that I was not cooking for myself. <br/><br/>I turned on the gas after attempting several times. I was still yet to master any of the things there, but I tried my best to do what I knew without burning down the grand mansion to dust. <br/><br/>Thirty minutes more and I was already making breakfast. I toasted the bread and set everything at the dining table. I got confused about what to do next. Should I go call him, or he would get the information from the maid?<br/><br/>I contemplated but realized how impossible it'd be for the maid to pass him the information, so I went myself. I was bold enough not to knock and immediately stepped in unannounced.<br/><br/>"Breakfast is…" I trailed off when I saw him with only a towel around his waist. Did he shower?<br/><br/>He looked a bit surprised, but I wasn't confident because his expression was always deceiving. He walked towards me with a look I couldn't decipher.<br/><br/>"I wasn't expecting you to barge in like that," he stated as he walked seductively towards me, making it hard for me to stare away. This man was obviously trying to seduce me, and I was shameless enough to admit that it was working because I didn't even realize when he got so close that I could smell his sweet scent mixed with the refreshing scent that reminded me he just took his bath as he leaned down.<br/><br/>"Hey, you're still staring."<br/><br/>I heard his words in my ear and instantly snapped back to my sanity as my cheeks turned bright red and so did my ears. <br/><br/>He pulled back with a teasing smile, and he appeared pleased with himself.<br/><br/>I cleared my throat before speaking. "Breakfast is ready. That's what I came to inform you."<br/><br/>I nodded and waved his hand. "You can go wait for me." He dismissed me and I found it rather rude. There was a more polite way of dismissing someone, not like I was his maid or something. I was basically his wife and not some old maid.<br/><br/>I paused in my thoughts as I realized I just put a claim on him by bragging about being his wife.<br/><br/>"Yes," he asked, raising that annoying perfect brow of his again.<br/><br/>I sighed. "I'll wait in the dining room, please hurry because I'm starving." I whined.<br/><br/>His brow was still raised, and he looked amused by me. What was he expecting?<br/><br/>I walked outside more because I couldn't stand being in front of him while his upper body was exposed. I was already feeling hot in his presence and badly needed air. <br/><br/>I waited for him to show up, and he did shortly, looking unbelievably handsome, which took me aback by how drop gorgeous the man was.<br/><br/>He sat lazily in front of me while his eyes scanned the table swiftly.<br/><br/>"Enjoy," he said shortly as he dived in. I was expecting a compliment or even a reaction from him but got none, and he looked unfazed. I opened my mouth to speak, but he beat me to it.<br/><br/>"What have you concluded about what I said yesterday?" He asked while he looked up from his plate.<br/><br/>"What are you talking about?"<br/><br/>"Remember I said something about a party we must attend?"<br/><br/>"Yes… Wait! Are you serious?"<br/><br/>He frowned at me. "Yes, and you'll be going to get a dress after eating." He informed me unexpectedly.</p>
