Chapter 133: Sleep

As Xu Yue tried examining the jade slip, and the words written on it further, the jade slip suddenly disappeared.

"What," mumbled Xu Yue as she began looking around, searching for a culprit. But before she could search much more, Xu Yue found herself back on the surface.

As she looked around for a moment, Xu Yue began flying in the direction of the cave abode, but when she arrived at the entrance, a shocked expression appeared on her face.

"It's gone," mumbled Xu Yue as she looked at the natural cliff in front of her. A moment after that, Xu Yue placed her hand on the rock in front of her, her expression becoming even more shocked at that moment. Looking into the rock's past, Xu Yue discovered that no cave abode had existed in the rock in front of her.

Suddenly, Xu Yue began looking in her spatial ring for the formation flags she had obtained at the auction. After a few moments, the shock on Xu Yue's face disappeared, being replaced by a frown.

"They are also gone," mumbled Xu Yue as she fell into deep thought, and began looking through her memories about the cave abode, and after a while her memories about the jade slip.

Remembering the faint intent inscribed in the jade slip, and after a few moments, she managed to translate the small amount of text from the first part of the jade slip. 'It's as I thought, although gravity exists, it's too different, it's as if th-' Suddenly, anger appeared on Xu Yue's face as she somehow forgot about the rest of the jade slip.

After a few minutes and after having managed to calm down her anger, Xu Yue realized something. "My memories were not tampered with, rather, it's as if the past itself was changed and my memories changed with it," thought Xu Yue as suddenly another thought entered her mind. Xu Yue then promptly sat down before beginning to feel the past of the mountain in front of her.

"Nothing," mumbled Xu Yue as everything in front of her lined up perfectly, presenting a clear picture that nothing had happened.

But before she could do anything else, Xu Yue felt an extremely familiar yet faint aura, at that moment it was as if lightning had struck her. After this, Xu Yue got up and picked up a random rock and stared intently at it.

Moments later, as Xu Yue had changed the fate of the rock, it suddenly morphed into a low-grade spiritual stone, but what Xu Yue was looking for was what she could feel after it had been morphed. After the rock transformed into a spiritual stone, Xu Yue could feel a very faint yet familiar aura around it.

"So the Dao of Fate was used," mumbled Xu Yue's main body as several jade slips about the Dao of Fate appeared in front of her. "Hongjun, Immortal ancestor of the Heaven Scrying Temple, but what does he have to do with the Wu clan," mumbled Xu Yue's main body as she continued pondering.

...

As he opened his eyes, a frown appeared on the young-looking old man Hongjun's face. "So she was the one who discovered it," mumbled old man Hongjun as slightly gritted his teeth before waving his left hand, causing the cave abode his much younger self had created to be destroyed.

"If only I destroyed it back when I was in the lower dimension, this is too troublesome," mumbled Hongjun as he felt the nearly infinite dimensional wall disrupt his power, causing him to use much more effort in destroying it.

"Why am I so bothered about it, even if someone discovers it, nothing will change," mumbled Hongjun as he fell into a deep silence.

...

Unaware of Old Man Hongjun's troubles, right now, Xu Yue was in deep thought. "Where did he come from for the very laws of reality to be different," mumbled Xu Yue as she felt that she was missing a key component from the puzzle, something that would change her very perspective and put things into place.

Sadly, Xu Yue did not know that it was too early for anyone to realize, maybe if this had happened in the future she may have had an idea, but right now she did not.

...

In another time and space, Everything was asleep, from the lowest of mortals to the highest of immortals, the Grand Dao, nearly almighty as it is, was also asleep, it was unknown how many eons had passed since the sleep had begun, but even so, even the beings with the shorted lifespan were still alive, asleep.

Time had also fallen asleep, granting them eternal life until it woke up.

"It's too boring," mumbled third as she looked at the still reality before her.

"Wake up," said third as she poked fourth's cheek with her long fingers.

"Wha-" mumbled fourth as she woke up from her long sleep, the moment fourth opened her eyes, reality continued on as if nothing happened. Everyone, every living or not living being had immediately woken up and were unaware of their almost eternal sleep.

The only being aware of what had happened was the Grand Dao, which looked at fourth who was sitting in a bed in a tiny corner of reality with terror in its eye. It knew that this being was not just stronger than it, it was at a different level than it.

"Is it so nice to sleep all the time?" asked third as she handed a small ball of light to fourth.

Looking at the ball of light, fourth let out a small yawn.

"It is," said fourth before closing her eyes. As soon as the fourth closed her eyes, everything stopped and regained its stillness once again, only third's incarnation, which was a small portion of a being of the same level could remain awake in the same reality as fourth.

Seeing everything stop, third did not have any desire to remain in this dead reality, she then disappeared in the river of time, leaving fourth to sleep, unknown when she will next awake, maybe only when the next one of her kind appeared would reality continue. But for at least the next billion years, everything would sleep.

Chapter 134: Cao Ling

Inside an extremely large cave.

"This should be enough for me to take notice," mumbled Xu Yue as hundreds of formations suddenly appeared inside and outside of the cave.

Sadly, Xu Yue did not have much understanding of formations, as such she could only use a lot of formation flags if not this cave would really become nearly unconquerable.

After admiring her work for a few seconds, Xu Yue's stone body suddenly arrived in the middle of all the formations.

"That Heaven Scrying Temple really did not cheapen out on materials," mumbled Xu Yue as she touched the side of the coffin in front of her.

Then, mere moments later she sat in it before the coffin closed over her on it's own.

After a while, Xu Yue closed her eyes, her soul exited the stone body.

...

Feeling herself be whole once again, a smile appeared on Xu Yue's face, even though splitting her soul did not do any damage to it because of it's great quality, Xu Yue still did not like it, preferring to be as whole as possible.

After making sure nothing had gone extremely wrong, Xu Yue closed her eyes.

...

'It' was scared, even though It could not see anything, It could feel both it's brethren and the terrifying giants towering above it being destroyed.

'It' suddenly began shaking because of the pain as something grazed it, completely annihilating all of it's brethren on one of its sides.

As the danger seemed to have stopped, 'It' stopped moving as well, not that it was not scared, but rather it could no longer move it's tiny body.

Suddenly, 'It' could no longer feel it's remaining brethren, who had survived the onslaught, but sadly, even if it was not injured, it could not move as it was just a blade of grass.

"A blade of grass?" thought it as for the first time in its existence, it has thought.

Suddenly, something strange happened, the injuries, which the blade of grass did not know if it could actually recover from disappeared.

"Injuries," thought the blade of grass as strange knowledge kept appearing in it's tiny mind.

"Comfortable," thought the blade of grass as the word for what it was feeling emerged in it's mind.

"Word," thought the blade of grass as before it could do anything, it knew another word.

But suddenly, something happened.

"Pain pain pain pain," thought the blade of grass as too much information entered it's tiny mind at once.

"Death," thought the blade of grass, as suddenly, it knew which state it was currently approaching.

Before the blade of grass could think about anything else, something else happened.

"Comfortable Qi," thought the blade of grass as suddenly a gentle Qi healed it's mind once again.

"Qi?" thought the blade of grass as suddenly, memories of something called a cultivation technique appeared in it's mind.

...

"Sun," thought the blade of grass, as suddenly, it disappeared from next to that gentle being and appeared next to it's brethren.

"Sad," thought the blade of grass, but still, it then left that emotion behind, as it started basking in the sun.

Nobody noticed the fact that in a peacefull corner of the wood region, an extra blade of grass had appeared.

...

After basking in the sun for an unknown amount of time, the meaning of another word appeared in it's mind.

"Annoying," thought the blade of grass.

[Host, the Grass Growing System is only here for your benefit]

"Annoying,"

[Host, the Grass Growin-]

"Annoying,"

[Hos-]

"Annoying"

A peacefull silence then ensued in the mind of the blade of grass.

"Peacefull," thought the blade of grass as it continued basking in the sun.

...

[Host, Do you like the sun?]

"The sun," thought the blade of grass as a bunch of the new words appeared in it's mind.

"Like."

[If you get my help, you will be able to bask in the sun as much as you want.]

Suddenly, happiness began radiating from the blade of grass.

"Like System," thought the blade of grass, as it was easily bribed by a shameless system.

...

That day, nobody noticed that an extremely small amount of spiritual energy was being absorbed by a tiny blade of grass.

...

"Why no sun? You lie?" asked the blade of grass, after being nourished by spiritual energy with the help of both it's cultivation technique and the system, it had managed to become quite a bit smarter.

[Host needs to wait a while longer]

Sadly for the blade of grass, it did not know that the System will continue to say this very same sentence for the next one hundred years.

...

Twelve years later,

For the past twelve years, spiritual energy had been accumulating inside of the blade of grass, suddenly, the size of the grass grew by two inches, but let this not fool you, the inner transformation of the grass was immense.

[Host, I did it for your own good]

Hearing what the system had to say, the blade of grass let out a snort.

"You dare say this after tricking an innocent blade of grass all this time," thought the blade of grass as the desire to beat up the system suddenly emerged in it's mind.

After becoming a tier two monster, the intelligence of the blade of grass grew by leaps and bounds, and it's innate memories, which were restricted by it's fragile soul were fully mastered by it.

Suddenly, a voice more mechanical compared to the usual system voice appeared in the mind of the blade of grass.

[Host intelligence has reached the threshold, System Shop Opened]

As the blade of grass looked at the system shop for a moment, a smile appeared on it's soul form, while it's tiny body also slightly shook

"Very well system, miss Cao Ling had forgiven you," arrogantly said Cao Ling towards the system.

Hearing what name the grass spirit had chosen for herself, the system wanted to erupt into laughter, but even so, it's stoic persona persisted.

[Detected host dislike towards System has reached 0, spirit stone rewarded]

An awkward silence ensued the moment the system's other more mechanical voice sounded once again
