A streak of fire shot at the wall, quickly starting to melt it, with an orb of ice, Venator threw it at the tree with great force. Leaves froze as the orb collided with them, piercing into the tree. A pop sounded as a figure fell from the branch.
"Got you." Venator felt satisfaction, with the user founded. His hand aimed at the bush the user fell to. Aimed to strike at the downed user.
The bush began freezing up, crackling and popping as the ice consumed it.
A ball of flame slammed into Venator's wrist, he grabbed it in pain, looking around where it came from. While he looked around, a fiery force sent him to the ground with excruciating pain.
A sword's tip aimed towards his throat, in a quick reflex, the two blades collided with one another. The two were injured as they locked swords staring each other down, bearing their teeth like animals, angered.
The two used both their hands in the swordlock, pushing the blade forward while the other held onto the handle. Their boots dug into the dirt while they tried pushing with no clear winner to the lock.
Venator pushed forward with a sudden spark of force, sending the user back. The swordlock ceased, with his blade free, it was raised up, and sent slamming down at the opponent.
The metal slashed through, blood formed through the single cut.
On the ground, the user was finally dead. A pool of blood slowly grew under him, lifeless and silent, his hands no longer emanating any magic.
Venator sighed in deep relief, quickly checking himself. A large burn marked his back, burned through the layers of fabric leaving blistered and burnt skin. Checking on other parts of his body, blood stained his gloved hand.
"I hope you're the last one, meet your god and see how she feels about your existence." He spat at the corpse.
A portal slowly formed in the air, Venator looked back at the crowd, a single snap, and the ice shattered into tinier pieces. The crowd was no longer as enraged, confused on what has happened.
Through the portal he went, departing from the forest, finished with his task, and on to meet the woman.
The garden was still just as lush, trees, flowers, bushes, all scattered around the pathway while Venator walked through.
As he stepped further down, he found the woman again, tending to a different bush.
"Ah, back already?" She stood up.
"From what i have heard, you were given a chance from your death. A warrior from a world unknown, selected by it's god to quickly kill for them. Word has went around of your endeavor and resolve, killing wielders of magic only asking for a magic spell to wield in return." The woman extended her hand, an orb of green spawned on her hand. Grabbing it, Venator's wounds slowly covered up, the blood dissapeared after the wounds have fully covered up. A sense of bliss and joy overwhelmed him.
"Once more, i must thank you for your help. We gods cannot enter our follower's worlds, we can only continue fixing on our own with our people." She explained.
"I thank you for your reward." Venator simply replied.
A portal formed up behind him as he stood with his book opened.
"Best of luck on your travels, perhaps you may return to this world once more, be it out of chance or out of needed necessity."
"Very well." Venator stepped through the portal, leaving the lush gardens.
His boots stepped onto snow. A strong breeze of cold wind slammed into him, clenching his clothing as he stood. He was on a roadway, around, a forest with it's leaves gone. Above, the sky was full of clouds, raining down snow onto the ground.
Each step forward, his boot was consumed by snow, foot deep.
The air was chilly, with each breath forming a cloud of mist.
"A village better be nearby." Venator complained, squeeizng onto his coat while his teeth chattered.
He walked forward on the snow filled road. Each step felt tiresome as they sunk and rose up repeatedly while he walked.
More snow poured down unto him, the frost hit him worse with the tattered clothing.
"Hope the fire works here." His hands began burning aflame in an orange light, he sighed in relief as his hands felt warmer.
"Much better, but it won't save me forever."
The walk went on, thoughts hit Venator's mind in the eerie, cold, and lonely trip.
"Who knew, after a few dead magic users and many know me already." He spoke, struggling to even mouth each word as his teeth chattered.
"More and more power with every task, one day perhaps...One day maybe i can fight stronger users, maybe they can have more stuff on them for me to use." He continued, trying to cheer himself up while the cold consumed his body while he walked on.
"Hope they have a new cloak or clothes."
He walked on, until, in the distance, a column of dark smoke, through the snow.
At the sight, he began running through the snow, the sight of the smoke getting closer and closer.
He finally arrived. In front of the roadway was a village, the smokestack came from a larger building.
Venator entered into the village, the roadway was empty, only a few people walked around, all covered in clothing as they entered houses and wooden buildings.
Venator kept shivering while looking around. He opened to the building where the smoke came from. Inside, people sat down on chairs, drinking with their cups on tables. A few stopped to stare at him while the others continued drinking.
He sat down on a frontbar table, a man behind the counter stared at him.
"I haven't seen your face here before, traveler?" He asked.
"Yes."
"So what will it be?"
"What is there here?" Venator asked.
"Well." The man pulled out a purple bottle.
"Just the normal berry wine at the moment."
"You're in luck, were currently at the wine month." Venator looked confused.
"Wine month?" The man quickly pulled out a cup, pouring it until it was nearly full, handing it to Venator.
The wine was purple, similar to the bottle it was stored in.
"If i may ask." Venator took a quick sip of the wine, feeling the sting and the sweetness of it.
"Is there a temple, or church or a place to worship nearby?" He asked.
"Well."
