I was but a lowly mage within the kings court, there were many of us mages there competing for the kings favor in order to achieve what they dreamed or get what they desired, I for one desired for my knowledge and for my people to prosper but I can't seem to catch the eye of his majesty.
His majesty would always choose the female mages of the court, at first I wondered why but I happened to discover why he did so, one day whilst I was in the midst of my nightly stroll I happen to have seen Mathilda a young lass who just entered the court, I must admit the young lady was talented and even at my advanced age I still think she be quite the looker, anyway back to my story.
Mathilda that day didn't notice me so I casted a spell of invisibility on myself and followed her, I still remember the king announcing that she would become the courts new grand magus a few days back, as I followed her I discovered that her main reason of coming out that night was to go to the kings quarters and there I saw and heard a very disappointing sight, the young talented lass was under the king on his bed copulating with his majesty.
In all honesty I've always doubted the king of being a corrupt man but I never thought that my doubt would be verified this way, I went up to the king the next morning and handed my resignation, the reasoning that I have given is that my old age has been holding me back.
The king didn't doubt me and even willingly let me go, it seemed he already had a replacement for me and I saw my replacement it was another young lass.
I walked away turning a blind eye on the scene and everything I have seen that night, who am I to stop them from what they want hell I don't even know if they were forced and so I left the castle, days passed and months faded, I settled down on top of a mountain and to be honest I actually quite enjoyed my time since it was near a rather peaceful village, I heard the hero was summoned I do hope the king doesn't corrupt them.
There's this one lad named hiro takeshi he sometimes comes to visit me toting gifts and food stuffs, I quite enjoyed my time with this lad and from what I can see using my eyes of detection he had a quantitavely and qualitatively staggering amount of mana, this young lady had such an amazing talent yet it hasn't been cultivated, I'll wait till he becomes 18 years old and then I'll teach him magic, he might sound and act mature but this child is still but too young if I teach him now and the king gets wind of him he will be corrupted.
A few more months passed and the hero's endeavours resounded through out the kingdom, their heroic deeds and chivalry is quite laughable in all honesty since I dont believe them, what I do believe is that the king is covering up the true hideous crimes and nature of this supposed hero, maybe I should teach hiro the arcane arts now... no it's still too early is what I thought back then, I then went on a journey in order to improve my art.
It took me quite a while to reach the desert city as for why I'm here is but due to the news that a crystal beast was spotted nearby, crystal beasts are beings that result when a Faye absorbs too much mana and fall into a state of deviation due to inability to control which is caused by greed, their body explodes and the mana then rampages causing the matter around the faye to be affected by it and rebuild a new body, this body will no longer look like a graceful Faye and the one controlling it is not the Faye, it's just a rampaging beast that hungers for mana.
Anyway I hunted it and harvested some of its parts, these crystals would be perfect for protective treasures and mana practitioners, after this I went to another city and bought spirit steel, it took me longer than I thought to return and when I arrived at the village it was deserted, the once lively village empty and desolate as if it was a ghost town, I went into the kingdom and there I saw that they were getting executed.
I wanted to stop them but the kingdom had activated the anti-magic barrier, I was enraged and hopeless as I saw the heads of the people roll one by one and even hiros head, without my magics I was just a pitiful old man, I went and asked why they were executed and I was told they rebelled against the king, it was then I knew the king had become even more corrupted, I left the kingdom and followed the knights to where they threw the bodies.
I took them all with me using spatial magic and brought them to my abode, there I lined them outside and casted preservation magic, Its worth noting that I chanced upon and bought a book of the dark arts of necromancy, I believed this was a revelation from the goddess that I should overthrow the king with the help of hiro, I then went around buying the required materials and began to practice summoning low level undeads, it took about half a year till I could summon high level undead that was when I thought it was time.
I casted necromancy on the carcases I preserved and even brought back hiros soul but only hiros, it seems that only hiro had a soul strong enough to survive after a long period of time.
It took quite a bit to convince hiro to not take revenge immediately but I was able to convince him atleast, I began to teach hiro the arcane arts and necromantic arts that I had learned, the lad is truly talented and gifted in this field as presented by his rapid progress, what took me years and half a year took him just three months, I convinced him again to raise an army of the undead and monsters, this was the beginning of a new Demon Lord, a Demon Lord that I trained myself.
