Chapter 64: Devil's Banquet

“I simply want what is mine,”

Those six little words would normally have held no power over her, but when put together with that possessive gleam in his dark eyes they hung in the air as if they had been laced with a thick poison.

Those six words had made the redhead’s stomach churn and when a porcelain plate with what looked to be a steak, roasted potato, and roasted vegetables was brought before her by her tormentor her mouth turned sour.

Listening to those words echoing in her mind made very little sense to the captive but then again, they were not supposed to.

For whom could truly know the mind of someone as deranged as the man who was eating a meal as if he were out for a fancy dinner before her? The only sound that filled the silence was that of his steak knife scraping against the porcelain dish that held his dinner.
