Perhaps it was because Reine's expression was excessively sincere when he spoke, or it might have been because the Black-haired Elf could detect lies through some mysterious means.
The Black-haired Elf first looked puzzled, then slowly stepped forward, came up to Reine, and circled around him while his delicate nostrils twitched slightly.
The Black-haired Elf nodded with hesitation and said, "I truly can't sense the presence of the Dark Mother Tree's seed anymore. Could it have really disappeared?"
"Uh... is it possible that its energy was exhausted, or maybe it was harmed by the power of witchcraft?" While smelling the pleasant, grassy fragrance emanating from the Black-haired Elf, Reine tried to sidestep the issue.
"The former is not possible, the latter, although not highly likely, seems to be the only reasonable explanation," the Black-haired Elf considered and nodded.
It seemed he accepted the explanation Reine provided.
