"I won't pry anymore."
"...huh?"
Calix was taken aback when Ryken suddenly threw those words at him. Blinking, he stared at his friend, wondering if his ears played a trick on him.
Didn't Ryken seem adamant about digging the truth out of him? Calix had already prepared himself not to waver under his friend's possible interrogation.
"I'm still doubtful," admitted Ryken, feeling there was no need to conceal his thoughts, "But, that's not necessary. You look happy, genuinely. That's the most important thing."
Ryken kept his suspicions to himself because pushing his view on Calix would bring more harm than good. He also witnessed something interesting today.
From the first moment that Ryken saw Calix and Leslie outside his door, he had been watching his friend and the lady's interaction subtly yet closely.
The husband and wife's body language mirrored one another. Calix cared for Leslie and she returned the same feelings to him.
