Chapter 142: She Had to Reach Him Now!

"Mimo... where are you? P-please... answer me..."

Driven by her anxiousness, tears started pooling in Leslie's eyes. She continued crying Mimo's name out loud.

"P-please, Mimo! Answer me!"

Under Leslie's surprised gaze, Mimo jumped out of nowhere, landing on her lap. The red fox toy rested its upper limbs on her right arm.

"M-Mimo!"

|Leslie! I'm sorry! I couldn't answer your call!|

Perplexed, Leslie stared at Mimo. She really thought that the fox toy wouldn't appear in front of her again.

"Mimo... I'm so... worried..."

|I'm sorry, Leslie. I didn't mean to make you worry.|

Leslie's eyes were only able to make out faint outlines in the dark but, she was sure the crochet toy was looking at her.

"What... happened?" Leslie forced herself to speak. Her throat felt so dry, affecting her intonation, "I thought... I could no... longer... call you. I met... Charlene... earlier..."
