In the world of Veridian, power flows through enchanted cards bound to Suits that define an individual's abilities: Diamond for weapon specialists, Heart for flesh, blood and healing, Clubs for martial discipline and physical enhancement, Spades for creation, and rarer Suits such as Keys for stealth and exploration, and Dice for manupilating luck. But among these revered Suits lies the Wildcard, a cursed mark feared for its chaotic and unpredictable powers, capable of destabilizing the delicate balance of the world.

Those branded with the Wildcard are hunted and executed, their potential for destruction deemed too dangerous to be allowed. Lucian Riddle, a young man marked by a Wildcard, must navigate a society that shuns him while resisting the pull of madness. He fights to survive in a world that sees him as a threat.
