Manager Sung nodded his head. "Good. Be thankful that I am so merciful to not drop the price after so many of your insults."
Minister smiled in an ingratiating manner. "Yes, yes. Manager Sung is merciful. Manager Sung is kind. I hope you will treat my daughter well..."
Manager Sung waved his hand at a male servant wearing a yellow robe standing near the door and he left. The servant returned shortly after holding a money bag atop a tray. Manager Sung pointed at Shen Chaing with his chin and the servant walked over, presenting the tray in front of him.
"2,000 taels. Count them. I don't want anyone slandering my Lavender Palace, saying we cheated them."
"Of course not. Of course you wouldn't do such an immoral thing. Who would dare to slander Lavender Palace..." Shen Chiang tried to suck up to Manager Sung.
"Stop saying so much nonsense. Just count it!"
"Yes, of course. Yes..." Shen Chiang opened the money bag and poured the contents into the tray. He put the silver taels back as he counted. "2,000 silver taels exactly, yes. Thank you very much, Manager Sung."
"Good. We will be taking it from here."
"Thank you very much for your business, Manager Sung." Shen Chaing smiled and bowed as he was escorted out by Sir Mu, his hands still holding the bag of silver taels.
...
After Shen Chiang was gone for a while, the girl that had not uttered a sound since entering Lavender Palace finally opened her mouth, a face of despair.
"Has he really left?" She asked in a small voice, full of heartbreak.
Sir Mu, who had just returned from escorting out Shen Chiang answered her. "Yes, miss. He's gone."
Shen Tianyu lowered her head and stood up as Sir Mu and Manager Sung Ming stared at her. She took a deep breath and lifted her head, a bright brilliant smile blossoming on her face. At seeing this, the two men who had been staring at her also smiled. She stretched her hands above her and sighed.
"Finally! Finally, I'm free! Ah, it's been so long. Those god-damned ass-licking hypocrites! If not for being too young when they took me in, I would never stay with them even if you paid me millions of gold!" She moved her neck, cracking it. "Hahaha, Sung Ming, I'm in a good mood today! Let's treat the sisters of this Palace to a meal tonight! How about the Shingtian Pavilion!" She laughed.
Shingtian Pavilion was a famous restaurant in the capital. Not only was the taste of it's food good, many of their ingredients also contained slight spiritual power. Though, it wouldn't necessarily help a cultivator break through, humans are prone to believe in miracles and superstition. Therefore, many cultivators went there to eat, hoping for a breakthrough. Due to the high demand, however, the prices were quite high. Sung Ming's mouth twitched, thinking about it.
"Master, Shingtian Pavilion's food may contain spirit power but it's not in high enough concentrations to be of significance. If it's taste, Nianjing Pavilion has better tasting food." Sung Ming suggested.
Shen Tianyu smiled at him. "Then, Nianjing Pavilion it is! Tell the sisters when they wake up! Should we take the guards also? Since we are inviting the sisters, we should invite the brothers as well!"
"You want to invite everyone in Lavender Palace for a meal tonight? What about business?" Mu Shenchou questioned.
"Hm... Certainly, we wouldn't want to interfere with business. Then, should we ask them to send the food over?" Shen Tianyu stroked her chin as she tilted her head thoughtfully.
"Hahaha. Let's just go early and come back early. Our sisters can catch up on sleep tomorrow!" Sung Ming laughed.
"Well then, how about we ask them when they wake up? Usually they wake up at least a shichen before business starts."
"Then, we shall do it according to Master's wishes." Mu Shenchou replied as he walked out to inform the maids and guards on day duty.
Update: Hi guys. The contest is over, thanks for everyone that voted. Though, we didn't get placing, I'll still continue the story so don't worry. I won't update as frequently as I have, though. Else, I'll fall behind in schoolwork.
