"Sure enough, this one is incomparable to the rest," Ra gaped at the beautifully bound Tome. it was unlike the others in every way, but the most distinctive characteristic was the pure white leather, untouched by age or dust. Even the energy felt pure like a crystal spring, a cloudy white aura emanated from the book and a small white orb like a polished marble was set in the cover beneath the title: Bloodline. Ra ran his fingers over the leather several times as he advanced, stopping at level 2 Saint Dragonknight. Ra felt an explosion in his soul as it began expanding, he clutched his chest in pain and let out an inhuman howl. He ripped open his tunic to reveal the glowing rune emblazoned on his chest, it burned... involuntarily Ra soul formed, two familiar swords appeared in his hands except- they were covered in white flames. Ra's golden eyes also took on a change growing sharper, his irises formed slits. Wings sprouted from his back and his brown hair was now streaked with white-blonde highlights. He felt predatory, animalistic, he had awakened something within himself as if it had always existed. and power, raw unmitigated power flowed through his veins.
With powerful hands he grabbed the Tome once more and began to read.
I know of no other way to say this so I'll just say it, Apophis has grown, and not a few measly inches but large enough to cast a shadow over Dragonwall. You should know that Dragonwall stands 150 meters tall, That is roughly 500 feet, now for every foot of height that's 5 feet in length. Which would place him around 2,500 feet long- just short of 3 miles, however the truly frightening part is he is still growing. I have no idea what manner of magic Apophis has gotten himself involved with, but I believe that just in case I should leave behind a failsafe. This Tome, in addition to every spell we Dragons have created houses an egg, my own child. Unfortunately I will not be around to meet you, In this final Tome I imbue my spirit and my remaining life force. My name is Pwyll, the White Dragon King, bane of my race. I have entombed myself in a secure location to write every book you see inside this library to ensure that our history will never be forgotten.
My spirit will test the individual who finds this place to guarantee the future of the Dragons and our beloved Miniviel, I hope you do not disappoint me.
"Pwyll..." Ra rolled the name over his tongue, "I understand," A soft voice finally invaded the long silence, "So you do, so you do... indeed, only one who has seen both sides of the coin will know that neither looks anything like the other." The voice said as a huge transparent Dragon faded into view. Ra was not at all surprised, "Pwyll?" The Dragon shook its head, "Pwyll...is dead, I am but the remainder of what he once was," he sighed. Ra nodded in understanding, "I see why you wanted me to read them, but I'm confused, you implied that they belonged to someone else," Ra said questioningly, "And indeed they did, they belonged to me when I still knew who I was, before I descended into madness, removing one's soul is...a trial." Ra began to understand that the vague responses, the attitude, everything had been a test. "And now, the egg, do you remember the translocation technique?" Ra naturally remembered and nodded, "Good, good, I must soon send you from this space before I disappear...No questions! I haven't the energy, use the technique to teleport the egg from the seventh Tome, this was his, that is to say my greatest wish- that he who raised the egg would understand both sides and restore what has been broken." Ra did as he was told and carefully followed the instructions and soon a large white egg was safely in his hands. "Time to go," the Dragon said when he saw the egg as the world around Ra began to blur.
The world spun and Ra landed hard on his feet inside the library of Grand Sorcére, quickly he checked the egg and saw no damage on its smooth cloudy-white surface.
He stored it away inside a spatial pocket and after glancing around at his surroundings he teleported. Ra popped back into existence outside the doors of the girls dorm, without pausing he burst inside and ran through the halls and was soon outside of Basts room. He banged on the doors and her sweet calming voice drifted from the other side setting him at ease, "Coming," she called back to him and soon after the door swung inward and Ra looked on at the reddened eyes and puffy face of the woman he loved. Seeing him, Bast emitted a harrowing scream that pierced his ear drums. She hugged, scratched, punched and kissed him as if she could not make up her mind whether she wanted to kill him or pin him to the floor. Ra was caught off guard and entirely confused by her reaction. He grabbed her wrists to prevent the fist that was about to reach his chest, he pulled her into his arms in an attempt to calm her however she was still hysterical. "Shush, shush," he whispered, and slowly walked forward, her legs rose and wrapped around his waist and he closed the door behind him. "What's wrong?" he whispered gently, "What's wrong? you're asking me that? Where the hell have you been!" Ra was shocked, he leaned away to see the furious glare on her face, her legs bound him in a vice grip. "I-I've been in Grand Sorcére..." he said awkwardly, not sure what the problem was, "granted it was a weird part of Grand Sorcére but it shouldn't have upset you this much, right?" Bast laughed, her voice was low and had a slightly crazed pitch, "You've been gone a year, Ra." she said quietly, "A year, we th- we thought you were dead!" and her arms wrapped tightly around his neck again as she clutched him. Ra was at a loss and feeling extremely confused, "Did the flow of time increase while I was in there?" And he must have had a dazed expression on his face because just then he felt a sharp pain in his arm, Bast had pinched him. "Well? she snapped, "Well what?" said Ra, rubbing his arm, he stared into her green eyes and forced a smile onto his face. Bast was not amused, "Where were you!" she was shouting now. Ra sighed, he pulled her down with him on the bed and she settled into the hollow between his chest and legs, after she was comfortable Ra began to tell her everything.
He told her about Pwyll and his son, and the Dragons, and how they allied with the Phoenix race. He spoke of Egradim and Dragonwall, finally he told her about Apophis and his obsession with power. "Where did you hear all of this?" she asked quietly, and Ra felt hot tears wet his arm cradling Basts head. "In Grand Sorcére there was a book, I can't remember where, but it transported me to a much larger library filled with books harboring immense power, it was here I met the Dragon who- in his own way, told me the story of our history." Bast was quiet for a long time, Ra ran a finger through her hair and pulled it from her face, she was asleep. After listening to the soft rise and fall of her breathing; he fell into a deep slumber.
