Rucia had a feeling that something was looking at her. But that gaze did not look like a human to her.

This mindless hunger looking back at her could only belong to a beast.

Seconds later, a monster jumped toward Rucia, and she attacked it on instinct.

Luckily, she got a good angel, and her sword pierced the wolf-hybrid's stomach.

"A wolf-hybrid? These species should not be here near the capital. And this fog, it looks so unnatural. I should hurry back to our carriage. I will drive it myself since I could not find the previous driver."

Rucia felt agitated due to the current environment and the gloomy atmosphere.

The fog made it impossible for Rucia to see where she was heading, but she managed to reach the front road.

"Are you an enemy?"

That voice belonged to the emperor, and Rucia knew better than to raise her sword against the emperor when he was in a mood.
