Chapter 14: Everybody So Wierd Today
He continued to cry. Didn't say anything. I asked him again. He took a while, but then stopped. "Am sorry, its just the drinks probably. This usually happens. When I drink, I get all emotional." He said as his voice cracked, looking down to ground. "Really? That's weird. Are you actually alright?" I asked him. He hummed. Said Goodnight, and walked away. Well drinking does weird stuff to people I thought to myself while I went to pick Eun Ji and took her to my room.
Jun's POV
As I woke up, I went around waking up the boys. We had to go to M.S. for practice. I went to the living room. I saw Han there. He was sitting on the sofa. He looked sad. I walked up to him. "Hey you alright? Whats up?" I asked him. I could see the tears in his eyes when he looked at me. "What is wrong?" I asked my heartbeat increased. All the boys were up by now and standing beside me confused by what was happening. They kept asking what happened. But all Han did was cry. After a while he finally stopped. And started to speak. "Last night, I was passing by the balcony when I saw Y/Ns friend Eun there. She was completely drunk so I thought I should bring her in. I walked up to her. I called her, as she turned I saw tears in her eyes. I asked her what's wrong. Don't worry these are tears of joy she said. "I am really happy for Y/N. After all she went through. She totally deserves to be happy at least now." She said. I asked her what she meant by that. She wouldn't tell me. But I pressed so she finally spoke up. And told me everything about Y/Ns past…" Han continued. As I heard him talk I couldn't believe it. I saw Han bursting into tears again, as he sat down. The rest of the boys were in tears as well. I couldn't believe that beautiful smile that Y/N has plastered over her face was hiding such a dark past. I wanted to cry too, but I had to control the boys. "Stop crying y'all. We can't let Y/N see us this way. She should not know that we know. I don't want her to feel pitied. Lets just support her like a family and try to keep her happy. "
Y/Ns POV
I woke up late. My head hurting a little because of the drinks I guess. I could hear the shower. I looked beside me, Eun wasn't there so I knew it was her in the shower. I got up to get some of my clothes out for her to wear. As I did so, she came out, wearing my bath robe. "Oh, your up? Thank god. Please give me some medicine. My head hurts really badly." She said holding her head. "Well of course. You were so drunk last night. You slept in the balcony" I said to her as I chuckled. "Seriously? The last thing I remember is drinking at the dinner table" she said sighing. Well get ready and come down, I will give you something for the hangover. I said to her. As I got down, I wondered if the boys were up. I saw them all sitting on the sofa. As I got down, all of them ran to me and hugged me. I was a little surprised. "What going on? What have I missed?" I asked them. Thank you for being an amazing host last night Y/N! They said in sync. I laughed. They seemed a little wired. A little low. But didn't give me a chance to ask. They just left real quickly. Saying they had to go for practice.
"Bye Y/N! we had a lot of fun last night. Please come to Seulgiri soon. We miss you!" Eun and Heo Jun said as I bid them farewell. I quickly got ready and left for M.S. as Mr. Lee had called me.
I almost reached Mr. Lee's office when I was stopped by a voice calling me. I turned, it was Mr. Choi. "Good Morning Y/N. I heard about the success of your song. We are all proud of you. Lee told me how hard you worked. Well done. Keep working hard like this, we want to see your songs in the top charts soon" he said to me with a bright smile. "Thank you Mr. Choi. I will surely give my best", I said to him bowing. We spoke for a while and then I went into Mr. Lee's office.
"Hey Y/N. Come sit. I was waiting for you" he said as he sat on the couch in front of me. "Oh, am sorry if I am late. Met Mr. Choi on my way here so got busy talking to him." I told him. "It's alright. I called you here today to discuss about our further plans. Your song is out now. And people all around are loving it. So obviously, now they want see you perform it live. It's about time that you take to the stage now. So I was thinking about where to start. Currently our schedules are too packed because of the upcoming music shows and family concerts. So how about we have your debut stage at one of them only? The most recent one is Lotte Familly Concert, coming up next week. How about we schedule your performance there?" he asked me. I was already shaking thinking about performing on stage. Singing while you are in a closed recording room with just a few people around is still fine. But performing on the stage in front of a whole crowd is just scary af. I was almost zoning out when I heard him say Lotte Family Concert and I literally felt like a truck just hit me. "What!? Lotte Family Concert? You mean that event where the whole Korean entertainment industry comes together!? From groups to solos to actors and actresses. I will have to perform there!? In front of all of them!? Are you serious?" I asked him standing up as I spoke. "Calm down Y/N. Sit down. Look I think that's the best place for you to start. It will help you gel with other people from the industry. They will start recognizing you too. Your talent will be well exposed to them…" he was saying when he was suddenly cut by his phone ringing.
"Just a minute" he said as he went to take it. Leaving me to cope with what I just heard. 'It's not just about being nervous about singing on the stage in front of so many famous personalities. I wish I could tell him that I had other reasons for not wanting to go there. But I couldn't and neither could I come up with a strong excuse to avoid it. So I had no choice but to accept it and face it. Well I knew this day would come, but just didn't know it would come so soon.' I thought to myself and sighed.
"Sorry that was an important call. So yeah I hope you understand how important it is for you to start off well. So you ready?" he asked me. "Yes, challenge accepted!" I said to him with a bright smile. He instantly got very happy. "Great! So we will start preparations from today itself. I will talk to the directors and all and we will set up your performance. Lets go." He said while leading me out and to the practice room. As we walked I thought to myself, "Am I ready for this?"
