Chapter 17: CHAPTER 17
Adam and his father got home at the same time, his father's company was not far from where he was working as a corper. It was like they planned to leave the office at the same time, they were surprised when met each other at the gate. Door opened and closed, two of them entered.
"Welcome! My one and lovely husband" walked closed to him.
"How are you? My wife" Adam was looking at them.
"Am good my husband!, and how is work today?"
"I was good and not stressful, I hope baby his kicking"
"Yes! My husband, running around" rubbing her stomach.
"Set the table and let me change quickly" going to his room.
"Okay! My husband, Adam! How was work today"
"It was fine!" He replied for the first time and going to his room.
"Thank God!" She was so surprised and at the time she was happy.
She went to the kitchen bringing out the food to the dining room and setting the table; she had finished setting the table sitting at the living room watching movie when Adam and father came out and went to the dining room to have their super, sat down on the chair and opened the food.
"Oh! It's wheat that you prepared, oh! My God" Adam complained.
"Am sorry!, but I called your father to ask you what you want and he said that it's wheat that you want to eat" facing them dining room.
"Yes! Now, I called you and you said no problem"
"I don't heard you very well just said no problem, I don't want wheat!"
"Just manage it like that, my boy"
"I can't force myself to eat it! Daddy, I can't at all"
"Okay! What do you want me to do now?" She asked and stood up.
"May be you should help me to cook another food"
"Which one do you want?" Got to the dining room.
"Jollof rice will be better" he stood up and going to the living room.
"Okay!, give me two hours, it will ready"
"Okay! Am waiting" she packed the food and went to the kitchen.
"Adam! But you like wheat very well now!" His father said with surprised.
"Yes! I did, but I don't feel like eating it today daddy"
"Why?" Looked at Adam. "Nothing daddy!" His father breathe in and continued eating. After finished eating he packed the plates to the kitchen, helped his wife to wash it with other plates that were there, she showed her appreciation and he left the kitchen went to the living room and sat beside Adam.
After two hours, his food and ready. She set the table for him and went to the living room to tell him and she sat down. Adam stood and went to the dining room, sat on the chair and opened the food.
"Which kind of food is this!" Complained again.
"Adam!, what is it?" His father asked with anger.
"I can't eat this food!, it doesn't taste good at all!" Said with loud voice.
"But you have not eat a spoon out of it!, so how did you know that it didn't taste good!" His stepmother said with anger showed all over her.
"Yes! I have not, but the aroma have been making me like to vomit"
"Adam!, that aroma! Even it's because I am okay, wanted to eat it and it is nothing than the aroma that you are complaining on now"
"May be I will go and sleep like that, I will eat tomorrow morning"
"Okay! Okay!!, what else do you want?" His stepmother asked and stood up.
"May be yam and egg" cover the food back and stood up.
"Okay! Am coming, gave me one hour"
"Wait!, in that egg you will put crayfish, kidney, dry fish and other things that will make it reach and give me good health"
"May be I will go to nearby market here to get them"
"If it's not at home, it's good to go" Adam said and sat beside his father.
She took the car key and left the house.
"Adam! Stop disturbing my wife!, you know she is pregnant"
"I don't force her to go now and to do it!" Said with lower voice.
"Off course you did!, what its your problem! Only you two different type of foods"
"I can't eat them or else I will vomit it"
"What you have been eating all these while! Just like to be disturbing"
"Sorry Daddy!" Said with lower voice and watching the movie.
Two hours later, his stepmother had back from the market and just finished cooking the yam and egg, set it on the table.
"Adam!, your food is done"
"Okay!" He stood up, went to the dining room and his stepmother went to the living room, he sat on the chair and opened the food.
"I don't like this egg!, this is not the way I want it!" He stood up.
"Adam!, what is it again!!" His father shouted.
"Daddy!, I can't eat it, no! No!! I can't" said with anger.
"Why Adam? What happened to it?" His stepmother asked with lower voice.
"It doesn't sweat at all!, give me back my jollof rice!"
"But you know that I have went to give it to the gate man"
"May be you should go and cook another jollof rice for me!" Standing at her front.
"Adam!!" His father shouted with anger.
"I am tried of all these!, what it's your problem!" She forced out with pain.
"Look here don't shout at me!, am not your child! Or brother! Okay"
"Did you know it's your stepmother you are talking to!" He didn't replied.
"I cooked three different types of food for only you and still you are complaining"
"If you do it right and good! I won't complain okay!" Saying with anger.
"If you know that my cooking is not good for you may be you should be cooking your foods by yourself"
"Fine! Fine!! It better!, I am happy that it came out from your mouth, fantastic!"
"I am tried of these, every time complaining! Complaining!!" Said with anger.
"Daddy! You heard your wife now, so anytime you see me in the kitchen don't abuse me or talk to me. I like what you say! Fantastic!" He laughed at her.
"You are the one that pushed her to the wall!"
"You said you married this woman for her to be taking care of you and your son, does she do it at all"
"Off course she did, you forced her to talk!"
"From now if you see me in the kitchen!, don't talk!" Going to his room.
"Adam! Adam!! Adam!!!" He didn't replied, sound of the door closed and his father breathe in, his stepmother too had fed up just looking unhappy.
