Chu Li picked up his cup and placed it to his lips as he turned his gaze away from Zhuo Feiyang to study the view outside. He casually asked, "Are you making progress with King Jing?" 

Zhuo Feiyang shook his head. "Things aren't progressing very smoothly. My martial arts skills are too weak, so I'm not qualified to go near him. I've only been guarding the Imperial Residence all this while!"

"Don't be anxious," Chu Li replied in a relaxed manner. "If you try to advance and gain merits too hastily, things can easily go south. You should take one step at a time. This isn't something you can accomplish within one or two years." 

"How long will it take?" Zhuo Feiyang stared at him. "Don't tell me it'll take the rest of my life?"
