Chapter 68: Almost II

Mai looked at Aaron in disbelief. Aaron's calm, emotionless reaction made Mai feel even more guilty.

"I have to pay off my debt," the man said again and chuckled softly.

To think he could be this unlucky in two days. First Mai stabbed him, secondly, she left the medicine even though she had never been careless before and lastly Mai took the medicine away. Not counting the time yesterday Nica hit his stomach and just now Mai also did it.

Is God punishing me now? - thought Aaron.

Annoyed? Angry? Maybe... At first... Just a little. The girl next to him was a real pain, clearly harming him and not just once. He should be angry but why can't he. The sad look and the look of regret covered his mouth, numbing his reason and controlling his feelings.
