Okay, so maybe he did like his friend in a romantic way? So what? He was hot, and Oikawa was a bisexual mess. Who was going to blame him? Certainly not the girls that liked Iwa-chan. They could understand why he did. His fangirls might be a little upset, but it wasn't like he was going to date them anyways. He just wasn't interested in them. If he was being completely honest, he found them slightly annoying. Always squealing and smothering him. Sure, he liked the attention, but the noise always gave him a headache. He never said anything though, due to the fact he was so close to graduating, so why complain now? Besides, he doubts they'd stop even if he did voice his irritation.
Back to the topic at hand though, His growing affection for Iwazumi. When had this started anyways? He knew it definitely wasn't just a few nights ago, it's so strong. And now that he's noticing it, he remembers he felt that way for a long while. Not just a few short nights. But when? Wen had it started? Now that, was going to take some time to figure out. Knowing when the feelings started wasn't necessary per say, it was just something he wanted to know. If it really was just a little something that had started up randomly, he would be able to brush it aside. But no, this strongly? It had to have been laying under the surface for a while now.
Maybe when they were kids? No that doesn't seem about right. He would have noticed long before now if it was that long. Middle school seemed like the logical answer, but he couldn't pinpoint the exact moment. It was one of those things you could never quite recall exactly, but he supposed he was fine with that. After all, it's not like he's going to tell him any time soon. In fact, he doubts he'll ever tell him. Iwazumi will get a girlfriend, and it will hurt, but he'll finally get over whatever he's feeling, and things will go back to normal. It's just a matter of time.
He felt a small tickle in the back of his throat and cleared it a couple times. It persisted, and fully coughed a couple more times. It let up finally. That was weird though. Probably nothing though.
Finally reaching his home, he stepped through the door, and smiled a little at the usual feeling of his home. It was quiet on the first floor, his parents upstairs getting ready to sleep. He felt he wanted to do the same, but at the same time, had some thoughts in his head swirling about.
While he did his usual nighttime routine, thoughts of his best friend kept popping into his head, making him frustrated. He's about to sleep, so why does this have to happen now of all times? He was tired and had morning practice tomorrow. He just wanted to sleep.
Finishing up, he got into his bed, and tried to close his eyes. But the smile of iwazumi just popped into his head, making him shoot up. "Ugh." Tossing and turning, he found it pointless to try and sleep at the moment. He had nothing to do though, so he was fairly bored. Maybe the boredom will make him fall asleep faster? It was worth a shot.
He stared at his ceiling and doing his best to keep his head empty.
It took a while, but he finally fell asleep.
