"Why does being functional have to be so difficult?" Ed asked as he was lying on Serenica's bed, slowly coming to his senses.
Serenica was startled by this. This was perhaps the first genuine question the genius had asked her. Usually he was the one giving all the answers.
"You just have insanely high standards for functionality," she said slowly and looked at him, that familiar loveless love in her heart. "I have been told similar things, that I demand too much from myself, you might remember that. But it must be awful, falling from such a high place."
"A high place! I am at the feet of a mountain, even if I am higher than anyone I have ever met," Ed groaned and tried to sit up.
Serenica had pumped him so full of everything that could help prevent bad seizures that he had trouble even getting himself into a regular sitting position.
"You hag," he said with such coarseness that Serenica laughed, getting a chuckle out of the genius himself, too.
