Chapter 46: Can't

I stared at the ceiling for a very long time, mulling over my actions throughout the day. It was strange from the moment we were in the carriage and everything after that. I felt like a whiny child and the more I thought about it, the more I cringed. 

"That's not how I am," I whispered, clenching my teeth until my jaw tightened. "How embarrassing, self."

Of course, Lewis was a man. It was not like there was a law stating that men should preserve their chastity until marriage. That only applied to women, which always irked me for many reasons. 

This world, be it in the present or in the future, would always be a man's world.
