Chapter 45: A taste of marriage

I snapped my eyes open. The second my consciousness reared its head in, panic swelled up in my chest even before I could open my eyes. Realization soon came right after.

"What the..." I gasped, blinking as the ceiling welcomed me. What time was it? By the dimness of the room, I knew it was already late, and I instantly froze. Did my fiance send me home sleeping? Oh, God...

I jumped when I heard a dry chuckle from my side. I instantly turned my head to him and my eyes nearly popped out of my socket seeing my wonderful fiance beside me. Luis was lying on his side, propping his temple with his knuckles, eyes on me. 

I blinked countless times and even rubbed my eyes just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Just then, I paused and looked at the ceiling again. My eyes narrowed to see better, and it hit me. This wasn't my room. It was the room where I rested when I got drunk on the Grand Duke's estate.
