Chapter 35: A new day in hell

"How can I protect you, Marsella?"

Yves' distressed tone kept me from pulling out this knife under the pillow to confront him. I knew I shouldn't feel betrayed since I was using him for my survival. But I could not help but feel disappointed about this. 

'Yves… why did it have to be you?' 

I controlled my breathing so as to not shake. He didn't need to know that I figured out he was my visitor every night. Just when I was about to tell myself I couldn't trust anyone in here, what he uttered next made me heave a sigh of relief. 

"That damn Augustus..." there was a slight yet quick tremor on the bed, making me believe he was ruffling his hair annoyingly. "... can't even control his fucking thirst I had to stay in my sister's room like a pervert every fucking night."
