Ryder let out a loud chuckle, blood seeping from his lips.

"So this is the payment I get for saving and training you?" 

"Save me? You killed my parents…" she responded furiously.

"Your parents? You still believe that nonsense?" Ryder shook his head.

"Those people were never your real parents. They were child traffickers! They planned to sell you to some old guy with a sick fetish!"

Celine's eyes widened in shock .

For a moment, she stood frozen, her mind struggling to process his words. 

Her hands shook as she tightened her grip on her daggers. "Lies," she protested, her voice trembling with rage.

"Why would I lie to you?" Ryder asked with a sneer, his voice weak and labored. "I'm already close to death, and I'm sure your friend over there will finish me off no matter what I say."
