Chapter 70: Trapping her in his excuses

"Is she not here?" Katherine heard a familiar voice, and she raised her gaze to look at the person who was speaking.

She looked at the maid standing behind him before placing her finger on her lips to tell her to not tell him anything.

"Are you missing me?" She whispered in his ears, chuckling when the chef nearly jumped in his place because of her sneaky attack.

"Geez, can you make some noise when you walk? It's already strange that you don't have a strong recognizable scent," The chef grumbled.

However, soon he realized what he said must've come off offensive and he was about to clarify his intentions when Katherine smirked.

"Isn't this for the best? I will make a wonderful soldier," Delilah said, and the chef, who had also heard of the rumors of Delilah getting approval for training on the battlefields, smiled softly.

"Are you that excited to be able to train?" The chef asked as he continued to stir the pot.
